Ha! I hate them too. I also hate those who were smarter than me and did not procreate.7 points

To me, it's really not a big deal in the City. My life since March has basically been these exact guidelines. If you've been a half decent human who cares about friends, family, strangers, grandparents, the US, the world, these new guidelines starting Friday really don't make a huge impact.5 points

I'll be spending my winter in the southern Pocono region skiing the steeps of Blue. If anybody is in the area, hit me up. I'd be happy to enjoy a beer with ya!5 points

No new hobbies here either. I plan to be in Colorado from December 21 - 31. And, Utah from January 1 - 31. If anyone has plans to be out west, let me know. Maybe there will be snow on the east coast come February.5 points

This is kind of depressing. Are we all going to be in our 60s and still posting on a message board?5 points

Blue will make snow tonight, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This will be enough to survive Friday, Saturday, and Sunday warmth. They will open this weekend and continue making snow next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. See ya’ll this weekend!5 points

I’ve found I play a little more relaxed when I’ve had a beer or two and don’t overthink things too much. Some of the worst rounds I’ve ever played involved no alcohol.3 points

I kind of hate you work from home types who can just go away for an extended period of time.3 points

I'll be in CO early Feb through mid/late March. Nice to see other PASRs spending extended time skiing the good stuff 😁3 points

You are PASR’s only hope. After you hit 30, this board will qualify for the AARP message board special (TP4’s knee loudly cracks as he slowly gets up to receive this honor on the board’s behalf)3 points

I refer to it as swing lube. The key is to have just enough that it’s a good time, but not enough to affect judgement and motor skills3 points

On the highway today I noticed there were barely any leaves left on the trees. That’s when it hit me...”this is how it looks when I drive to blue!” I think it was this that has me today looking at long range forecasts, seeing three days of borderline snowmaking temps, and getting excited hoping for a miracle lol. But right now I’m guessing first week of December2 points

There's also the "No shouting fire in a crowded theatre" restriction on freedom of speech. The right to peacefully assemble isn't an absolute and can be restricted - you don't typically complain about fire code limits in municipal buildings, but that's exactly the same restriction that's being applied here - it's unsafe to have a gathering larger than X, because there's a chance something might happen and hurt people at a larger gathering. As for cold weather, bring it on. Last year Blue was open by now. Sent from my XP8800 using Tapatalk2 points

I've been averaging about 1 or 2 days per week at home doing the help with home schooling. The kids are at school 2 days and home 3 days so my wife and I have been juggling the 3 days we need to be home. I am very lucky that I have a super flexible job because I don't get jack shit done when I'm home with the kids. My son needs a LOT of help. Looks like they'll be all virtual in the next couple of weeks, so I will be pushing the boundaries of the flexibility and goodwill of my coworkers as was the case for the first 2 months of school when they were all virtual.2 points

i guess this just means we have to take advantage of the situation and show up on their couches for a few long weekends.2 points

LOL at making a fuss over restrictions in Philadelphia, when the restrictions in Phila apply to like 3% of the forum members. I dont think we are heading to lockdowns, but i do believe like NMSKI said, sorry for the bars and gyms to be taking the hit, but its better to be targeting the hot spots where the increase in cases are coming from. As far as the large private gatherings? well hopefully people will do the right thing. But there are too many people in the world "that cant be told what to do". the lastest vaccines show alot of promise. This is probably worth arguing over.2 points

This is where I say: TP4: celebrating/rioting/protesting/looting amongst tens of thousands is safe, but seeing relatives isn’t? Doug: they were wearing masks TP4: they were not wearing masks and it goes on. We’ve had this argument a lot lol2 points

I think we're still looking good for skiing. Levine just said today that we're not going back to the color coded restrictions, but that they would focus on certain types of businesses. Restaurants and gyms are fucked, but skiing should be okay.2 points

Philly restrictions have always been tighter than the rest of the state. I'm sure skiing up in the Poconos will be just fine.2 points

When I took Amtrak to Florida and to Atlanta as a teenager I liked the snack and dining cars. I remember decent pancakes and sausage. On a video I recently watched about Amtrak it was said that the steak dinner is quite good and comes with a salad and baked potato. Having a nice meal while the scenery passes by sounds good to me.2 points

I want to ski as much as anybody, but maybe it's time to invest in some new hobbies? Coincidentally, if it's too warm to make snow, that usually means it's pretty much perfect weather for riding bikes. I dread the offseason much less since I got into mountain biking. Also I still need to mount up my new skis, and I have winter stuff spread across 3 different houses still. I guess I should get my act together in the event that it actually starts to get and stay cold.2 points

What's the penalty for exceeding the government's limit on people in a private residence? A fine? Prison time? Just wondering...1 point

OK, for the lawyers among us, what would these restrictions technically be called? Executive actions? Ordinances? Where do they fall in the spectrum of legality. They are clearly not laws. I'm just trying to understand what kind of legal jiu jitsu these guys are doing to get around: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."1 point

Yeah I think you can comfortably get away with riding a mtb in colder temps than a road bike. I did a ~15 mile road ride last friday morning up and back to AC to go surf and wore mittens even though it was only in the high 40s when I left the house. On the mtb I'd still be wearing my regular thin gloves for those same temps.1 point

I'm with you on that one, just sort of having trouble thinking a year ago we got one good run down midway, and multiple shitty ones. I would love to be taking a run down midway at its worst right now though.1 point
