No way that ship has sailed a long time ago. You were complaining irrationally so much lately I almost put you on ignore.

We need your optimism...needs to get cold..and with tha early end of last season and likely late start to this season I’ll be more likely to ski shit conditions than normal.

Imagine complaining about making a reservation to go skiing and powder day hassles when people have been through infinitely worse this year for the same reasons that you're mad about making a reservation to go skiing. Perspective my friend.

Been a minute. I'm back and checking out our fair state's lost and lonesome ski areas. I had the opportunity to take a walk around the former Alpine Mountain ski area outside Stroudsburg a couple weeks ago. This area closed in 2015 and was auctioned in 2017 for the bargain price of $413,000. The last operating owners seemed to have sunk a bunch of money into the place before it closed, renovating the lodge and ski school and buying new rental equipment, among other things. The current owners have no interest in the area, or even in maintaining the property which is becoming vandalized and decrepit. Seemed like a good place to learn when it was open. Mellow pitch, not as small as some other closed areas but still small by today's standards (350 vertical feet on about 20 trails). Shame to see any area go, especially with the crowding at some of its neighbors.

I dunno how long you plan on your sessions being but I only go for an hour and a half max. Could change this year tho, maybe 2.5hr.

Technically correct, but an Epic Day ticket is like $112 or something. No way that’s be hunter’s normal day rate right now with limited terrain. In fact, I don’t think their lift tickets mid season were over $100 last year. The Epic Day makes sense for a place like breck or vail where normal day tickets are pushing $200, but not any of the places in NY or PA, in my opinion. No speeding allowed! I dont fully understand the logic of quarantining based on state lines. So hypothetically I can go to a crowded produce market in Philadelphia and dont need to quarantine, but if I go hiking in the Adirondacks completely by myself and come in contact with no one, I have to quarantine/test??? It should be based on population density or something, not arbitrary lines on a map.

You can definitely day trip to the skillz and probably to Gore also. I plan on doing it.

Day trips to huntah or Belle are less than 24 hours so you're good. Didn't you say you wanted to go to Huntah? If you do a trip for more than 24 hours just get tested when you get home. Problem solved and no quarantine needed (unless you test positive in which case its probably a good thing that you got tested).

No it doesn't at all. Less people on the mountain, uncrowded slopes, solo lift rides, no quarantine for you in PA and NY if you want to go there, no ticket windows means direct to slope access, no lines or crowds in the lodge. Yeah that sounds terrible. It's Thanksgiving Saltman. Be thankful.

Skiing sounds like such a hassle this year. Pass for this, reservation for that, reservation to park, reservation to pee, quarantine to leave the state, quarantine to enter the state, swabs shoved down your throat to leave the state, super long lift lines, limited gondola capacity on powder days... ugh.

correct. passholders until until dec 8th. curious to hear how crowded hunter is this weekend. maybe they'll be at capacity, who knows, but they'll definitely be losing money not opening up to day tickets. maybe @AtomicSkiercan set up a Zoom call from the chairlift.

If you decide to actually quarentine. I feel like skiing some out of state resort even if you have to fly there is way safer than being in a bar right now or getting together with family members from outside your household for thanksgiving. Anyway Saltys complaining posts are annoying and bad for stoke.

I’m not getting tested unless I’m exposed to the virus or show symptoms.
