I might put my boots on and have a beer in my driveway to start preparing for the parking lot.5 points

New guns on Burma are clutch. Smart move on their part allowing for a green and hopefully less of a disaster on lower main4 points

Drove by about 20 min ago on the way home from a shop at Country Junction. Could see them going strong on lower Main up through Midway and the entire length of Burma. Nice that they should have a green root down on opening day.4 points

Not that much $ in steel for this, and wont impact mowing that much. @toast21602 This is also one of those things i might get completely carried away with. Like making a gazebo or what ever to look like a lift station. bullwheel with some lights hanging from it, fire pit......something like this, A frame construction, and make it more like a lift station. a sign that says Mt. Mik, prepare to load sign, keep ski tips up, this lift services expert terrain only.......see how that can snowball into something huge? i will agree though, if legs must go on it, figure a way to bolt them on.3 points

I forget if someone posted this here or I saw it elsewhere, but this video has a cool segment about Berthoud pass.3 points

The snowmaking cannons have fired up on the upper mountain. 40 degrees in Allentown and 27 degrees at mount pocono so probably very marginal. Tonight will be nice snowmaking3 points

Yup, as soon as they announced them I figured that’s what their thinking was. Doesn’t matter how many “experts only” signs they put up, Jerry didn’t come out and pay his $30 to ski Vista!2 points

Imagine thinking that hand washing will keep you covid free. Ever had take out since this whole shit started? You're at the whim of whoever handled food, from the cook to the person packaging it up.1 point

Do what I do with my armadas and ski with absolutely no edge on them. It makes things fun.1 point

Drop them off at blues shop after your morning session and tell them you will pick up at opening bell. I use blue’s shop all the time and they are fast and fine for my needs. Only caveat is for the day of pick-up and while all the pasr’ers are getting runs 1-3 in (or runs 1-12 if only vista open [emoji14]) you will be doing shop stuff Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

thanks. i did read earlier about detuning the edges and already planned on it.1 point

Waxed for sure. Tuned depends on how good of a job the factory did. Smaller brands who hand build things tend to do a pretty good job with tunes from the factory, with edge bevels and detunes dialed in for the specific ski’s rocker profile. Larger companies, unless you’re going for race stock stuff, will usually just go 1/1 and call it done. You’re probably fine without a full tune but you may want a gummy stone to soften the edges near the tip and tail if you find your skis to be extra hooky after the first few runs. I'm also surprised they were able to do anything before the upcoming evening. If these conditions are enough, seems like they'll have plenty of workable hours in the next few days.1 point

I think it makes good sense. My girls decided they would rather take the safe course and continue schooling from home for now even once hybrid becomes an option. Hard to argue with how well they are doing this way. Between the two of them in Q1 the only mon A grade was one of them got a B in Accelerated Math (Algebra). And of course it makes itbeasier to quarantinenat home between our VT ski trips.1 point

Is anybody planning on pre booting up at home and walking around a little in boots. I think that’s on the agenda for me this week. My feet never feel that good opening day especially all the standing around waiting for the rope to drop and standing in line. I really overdid it with walking a few weeks ago so wanna make sure my feet are semi ok.1 point

I'm going to Utah in March unless I'm literally not permitted by the Gub'Ment. Life's too short to live in fear and not take radical ski trips.1 point

This is kinda where im at now. Thanksgiving was good, we actually ate outside, but the likelyhood of that being the case when santa comes around, is unlikely. My Brother and SIL are really working from home, and now my Nephew has moved to all online for school, so, nobody in that household making too much contact these days. I'm kinda looking like the bad guy here since i do go to work. I just dont want to be the guy spreading shit around. The numbers as of late are just down right frightning. I feel like there is a light at the end of this unbelievable shitty tunnel, so no reason to possibly make matters worse.1 point

I'll get together with my wife's parents and my parents (separately), but that's about the extent of my holiday gathering this year. I'm perfectly happy with that. Maybe Blue will care to open and I can even gather with my PASR family in the parking lot (socially distanced of course)1 point

I'm feeling GREAT about it because I won't have to do shit! I'll be able to sit in my house with my immediate family which is what I've wanted to do for years but not been able to!1 point

It's all good, the 3 former presidents are taking the vaccine publicly so I trust it 100%.1 point

Exactly. People just "have" to get together for the holidays just because that's what they "always do". They don't realize that this year is different and that if you do it some of the people you get together with might not be there next year. They just can't think outside-the-box. Instead of getting together for the holidays set a firm date in July now to have Christmas in July and get together with everyone and have a big bash to celebrate the end of the pandemic and to make up for the holidays. It might be so much fun that it becomes another tradition.1 point

Probably not going to happen for me. I’m in contact with a lot of people at work so I don’t want to be the spreader. Plus my wife works at a senior care home so we’re trying to limit exposure. Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think? Sorry, bad Alanis joke1 point
