They turned on the crappy compressed air guns in addition to the fan guns on vista. This should always be the plan. Move the priority from upper main to vista for those guns. Coverage on upper main isn't going to get the place open. Vista will. Ski you all Friday! Looking forward to it!

The friend I was supposed to come here with today twisted her ankle hiking yesterday. Left at 7 got here at 8:38. Was 16 degrees when I arrived. My first time at Keystone, found the free parking and headed up the Peru lift directly behind that lot. Real empty over there and rode the lift alone. Ended up at the bottom of River Run, looked like more of the main base area. Much busier over there. Lift lines not long but a Covid stuff nobody really knew when to go and liftees not directing. So I went back over to Peru. I didn’t track it but I think I only did 5 runs, skiing tomorrow too so I just wanted to get a handful in. It’s kinda boring skiing by yourself. There is no way I'm going to remember that it's not the usual 8am. I'll be sitting in my car on Saturday morning in the parking lot for an hour I'm sure. On the bright side, it will feel way less weird to be drinking beer at 11am vs 10am.

Good point. She's stoked to ski...fall semester ended, now she needs something to do for the next 5 weeks (that don't include PS4). Once spring starts though she'll probably shift focus back to school (which why we didn't go full on pass for her). Gotta think on this one. She also has an ORDA card.

Could mean just Freedom for all I know - that is how BB often open. Certainly 6 days is ample time to get something open if theybhace the weather- and they typically have colder weather there than Blue (who are making snow for a tentative Friday opening) as they are at higher altitude.

Headed up to Jones Pass today and arrived about 7:40. My friend and I didn’t carpool since we are not in each other’s immediate bubbles. It was cold at the start but quickly warmed up, sun shining snd no wind. We passed lots of happy smiling faces, everyone just stoked to be out. Skinning up always gives me a reality check on what rotten shape I am in. We just did the road, not the bowl. I put a new setting on my watch for “outdoor sports” not sure why it said I did 10 runs. Imagine thinking that hand washing will keep you covid free. Ever had take out since this whole shit started? You're at the whim of whoever handled food, from the cook to the person packaging it up.

Waxed for sure. Tuned depends on how good of a job the factory did. Smaller brands who hand build things tend to do a pretty good job with tunes from the factory, with edge bevels and detunes dialed in for the specific ski’s rocker profile. Larger companies, unless you’re going for race stock stuff, will usually just go 1/1 and call it done. You’re probably fine without a full tune but you may want a gummy stone to soften the edges near the tip and tail if you find your skis to be extra hooky after the first few runs. I'm pretty good with that at work.. I would suggest having someone media blast it and then get it powder coated...The rest would be a fun project....Only limited by your budget...
