Cheers for a great season for us all! Glad to see Blue open! Got my first runs at Okemo this week. Great snow, though not many trails open. People generally behaving in lines, etc. A little more crowded than I expected mid-week. Got a new schedule where I work two days a week...SA-WEET! WINTER OF SALLYCAT!8 points

Hey All, I’m back from a fun second day at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the upper lot at 7:05AM made stupid good time and it was 39 degrees under overcast sky’s. In the house were Shadows, PARidge Atomic Jeff, Rodney, BenM, Slim, Bethlehem Ford Guy, Schifdawg, TheDude4Bides, JFBBDan, SkiNancy, SkiNancy dog, Enjorales, Pops, Toast, West Chester cowbells and many more. Repeat of yesterday’s opening with TruTV reality TV star and mountain manager Jim Daily.first run vista was nice midway semi smooth lower main kind of frozen crud..come around had decent snow but in the fog, vista stayed nice in the fog. Midway became more spring snow push piles not bad but lower main herky jerky dialed back to 70% and got passed by 5-6 people. I for sure skied Burma more today than any day since Naughty By Nature was on top of the record charts I skied a little more than yesterday, had some fun masked chairlift conversations with PASRs. Had a few lot beer...and sour cream and onion chips...was a fun day two.7 points

Fun day 1 for me. First 2 runs were nice then the Pass didn't work so I had to get that fixed. When I came out things were a bit choppy and the fog went from lifting midway down midway to not really lifting at all. I was skiing for the first time in 9 months so not at all complaining. Was nice to finally meet Skiincy and Skiincy's dog who at first wasn't fond of me, but I think we settled our differences over a french fry. Great to see everyone and happy to be skiing! Will be back in Monday.7 points

I guess they weren't 'tool bags' if they didn't take your poles. They could have shafted you.6 points

@toast21602 ... you get the first use of the "Boner City" reaction. I think it is appropriate.5 points

That’s one way to do it if you don’t have a ski rack. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

Visibility was good on the first run, and then got progressively worse. Was actually able to carve some turns for a second or two. Hoping tomorrow is soft and smooth given temps today and overnight.3 points

Done. Stopped by Buckmans on the way to Philly today. They were out of vouchers by noon so I had to go back after 5 when they got more in. Apparently they're pretty popular. The pass isn't valid on weekends before 3 but who cares. Its a steal at 179.2 points

When I was down in the lower lot to drop my splitboard of fat the tune shop there looked like a decent amount of coverage by the sixer.. The splitboard was a really hit at the tune shop..Couple of dudes had to come out and look at it and talk about how to tune it..I think it's the first time they've seen one...2 points

After leaving today, got to the Palmerton Dunkin' Donits and realized my ski poles were missing. Drove back to the top lot and the poles were laying on the ground in the same spot I had parked at. Fortunately the tool bags that took my spot didn't take the poles too. Those are the only poles I've ever skied with since buying them at a Goodwill Store for $15 (along with a set of skis).1 point

Hey All, I’m back from a super fun opening day at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the upper lot around 8:05AM and it was 34 degrees with a few dozen cars already in the house. In attendence were Mute, Ryan, Atomic Jeff, Justo, Toast, Mixilplix, Johnny Law, Bethlehem Ford Guy, Slim, BenM, Enjorales, Pops, Falco, Keith, Crazy Kathy, Rodney and many others. Rope drop was mellow and TruTV Star Jim daily mentioned about mask usage and all in all people were very respectful wearing masks walking through the lodge, in liftlines and walking around. First run in vista to midway to lower Main I was in the middle of the pack..Snow was alright until lower main when it was cookie city. Come around had nice snow and midway got rough really fast. A bonus for this years opening was Burma road which proved to be fun although as Toast called it a bakery. The corners were mad technical. Best snow on the mountain was on vista. While I skied no real lift lines..Blue limited attendance enough combined with being a weekday opening it almost felt like being at a skiing country club. Even the one time I used the restroom inside it wasn’t crowded like normal. The parking lot today was super fun..the snack I brought were consumed and I bought pierogies from the food truck..drank some dank beer and enjoyed the 40something degree temperatures. All in all the main theme today was just how great it was to be back skiing again today. Props to Blue for being super organized and most of our passes worked.1 point

Great morning! It’s fun seeing everyone again. Conditions weren’t the best but it was still awesome to play ski. Had an hour first thing then came back at 4 for a couple hours with the Mrs. Mask wearing wasn’t as good as in the morning. Definitely a younger crowd but all ages were ignoring the rules and ski patrol was bouncing between the Burma and Main Street lift lines telling people to mask up. Grabbed a beer and some food at the Cornerstone Grill and watching WFMZ do a report next to Vista.1 point

Today was super fun....Lotta cookies...Was out for about an hour and a half and never really waited in line...Nice temps to kick off the season in the lot too... Here are two shitty vids to watch if ya want... This is the first time I've ever been down Burma...1 point

Crested Butte seems to be one of the bullseye’s of the storm. As luck would have it I have a lull in renters Mon-Fri so I am going to take advantage. Made ski reservations Tues/Wed/Thurs. Going to also demo some skis and make a decision on something and get rid of my Black Pearl’s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

They should use their mobile slopeside van to drop shit off. Just label the rows and have a pickup location at the end of each. Will it happen? Who knows. But I'd love to see it.1 point

Well, since its 2020, this storm should clobber Carlisle, then mysteriously make a 90 degree turn, head due south and give North Carolina 20” of snow.1 point

Bahahah and the skier chicks I’ve met in Jackson hole are badass. After the lifts close they go to yoga classes or make Kombucha..much to Atomic Jeff’s dismay they wanna hear about the Doug Lyfe. On the one gondola ride two 30something local chicks were all intrigued by chubby east coast tombstone selling non Hanukkah celebrating jew middle aged boy and Jeff said,”don’t get him started” lol1 point

@toast21602 weather has been super dry and backcountry snow is pretty bad right now. There is snow moving in tonight through Saturday. I had planned to do a tour w a group on Sunday at Berthoud Pass but now rethinking that since everyone will be out right after the snow. Plus I70 seems to have some construction back ups that totally sucked today. @Mixilplix super easy going up a groomed run. Only hassle is you have to stick to the extreme side of the trail so when it starts to get steep you can’t make your own line and switchback up. Just have to embrace the suck and go straight up the fall line.1 point

Went to Winter Park for some uphill today. (Pic not me). Conditions were nice! It’s a weird vibe skinning at a resort. Lots of people whizzing by out of control, one guy wiped out near me. Still a good cardio workout, but not sure I would go back for it. Always nice to be outside no matter what. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk1 point

I bought a new helmet - mine was really old too (probably close to a 2001 helmet). It was a Cyber Monday deal I think - I only paid $ 79 on Evo.com, but it's $ 130 now https://www.evo.com/helmets/smith-mission-mips-helmet#image=135799/713002/smith-mission-mips-helmet-.jpg I went cheap and did the wired Outdoor Tech chips helmet speakers...if they crap out then I'll get a wireless pair, but $ 10 for the speakers was cheap1 point
