Great day here started out cold 8 degrees when we got to the mountain under cloudy skies. Stuck with my friend on the greens first few runs then I headed over to Paradise Bowl. After 3 runs in flat light I tried to head down to East River lift but it was closed to I had to take slow ass Teocali back up then down to the base area. They had closed Silver Queen for a bit so Res Lady had long lines. As luck would have it I saw my friend so we decided to have lunch early. Went back out and Silver Queen back opened so I just stayed in the front side with her and found some fun little trees and some Ungroomed stuff. Set up my demos for tomorrow. The ones I have been wanting to try are like the unicorn of skis can’t find them anywhere. Rossignol rally bird black ops. They always have them in a 170 which is too long for me. So I am going to try the Black Crow Camox Birdie’s tomorrow with a few others. Read good things about the Black Crows. Fun little ungroomed run for@indiggio Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk12 points

Even the younger crowd is struggling with this as well. The two guys next to me saturday had cardboard out and all. I simply dont get how this is such a huge struggle for people. Put yer fucking boots on and go skiing! We have all booted up in the lot in snow and somehow still managed to make that work.6 points

I saw from NWS the possibility of "Thunder Snow" early Thursday morning. Twice I've skied in a TS. First time riding on a high speed quad at Park City..... Snowing all morning and intensifying rapidly, suddenly the snow lights up all around us and a tremendous clap of thunder cracks. Suddenly the lift stops but the lightning flashes and thunder didnt... We debated whether, if lightning strikes the cable, and we're between the strike and ground, are we toast? After about 2 minutes the lift began to move and we unloaded and hurried to the lodge on top to wait out the storm. 20 minutes later, a ski patroller entered the lodge, climbed on a table and announced "we're closing the mountain in 20 minutes and if you don't know the way down, meet out front and we'll lead you back" We knew the way back, so we geared up and clicked into our skis. As we started down, the person leading disappeared within the first 30 feet.... A very scary decent until quite a bit lower and visibility improved....Something we'll never forget and recall often. The Second time happened on our first ride to the top on the gondola at Snowbird.... But that story is for another time... Anyone else have a TS experience??4 points

Hey All, I’m back from a fun morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the upper lot at like 820am and some people were already booted up. Temperatures were in the upper 20s with a brisk wind. In the house were Toast, Justo, Rose, Rodney and the RealKevinThomas. About 20 people for the rope drop..vista had nice snow, midway and lower Main Street were cookies and not the good kind..the stiff kind from wet manmade and poor grooming..Come around was decent and Burma was pretty decent with some dirt and pebbles. One group of guys had no masks and i confronted one of them in the lift line. I said you have to wear a mask in the liftline and he said I’ll have to get creative and zipped his jacket all the way. You really only have to wear a mask for 20 seconds getting into the line and boarding the lift and a few seconds disembarking lift not a big deal. Jim said to remind people about masks and I did since liftee wasn’t. All in all a fun 7 run..hour and 20 minute session. Now in the drive thru line at chic Fil A and heading into work which is hectic AF right now. JADIP Also no guns on Yuts lane but looks like they blew a little on it earlier4 points

It was hilarious watching olds in the lot at blue boot up today. I could tell most were annoyed by it and used to booting up inside. I wanted to tell the guy in the car next to me to pick an ice free spot to put boot on but I just watched him try and get his foot in six or seven times with boot slipping each time. Seems as though weekdays will be busier and weekends less crowds due to limited ticket sales.3 points

Accuweather has Palmerton with 16". Not for nothing, cause i dont think they are not that accurate, but they are normally pretty low on their totals. Shits looking good. This will absolutely fuck up the balance of our work year (5 more days) tremendously though. This December snow will be beneficial for Blue, so @Schifneeds to put his happy face on. Oh, and remember those long range forecasts? did anyone of them mention a foot plus of snow in December?2 points

I don't know here toast lives, but I'm going with 21" at the top of blue, so...17.5" where ever toast lives.1 point

I'm gonna say 11" of snow in Toast's yard...taking the low number and maybe I'll get a free beer1 point

I can relate. I stay at Hostel Tevere in Mad River Valley (not this year though [emoji22]) They have a hopping bar/social scene there (along with a better than average restaurant). After a full day skiing I would hang at the bar/fireplace with a drink(s) and my slippers on. Very few pleasures in life better than that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

The demographics of weekday skiing are weird this year. Usually it's 98% people over age 65 drinking coffee in the lodge for two hours then skiing a few runs and going home. Now there seem to be a lot more young, college-age people out. Still not a lift line all day, but a noticeable change in people. A friend thinks it's because older people can't be arsed to boot up in the car.1 point

I concur. Kurt thought I was nuts when I said the Valley probably won't open this weekend. They'll open next week for the holiday week.1 point

Thx for this. I just made a $629 donation to the local economy. But not really sure I want to be a member of any country club that would have me as a member Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
