Hey All, I’m back from a fun morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 830 and it was in the upper 20s under partly sunny sky’s. In the house were Shadows, Atomic Jeff, BenM, Bethlehem Ford Guy, Mixilplix, Charles and Enjorales cousin. Second civilian six pack and a lot of people out right off the back. First run of the day and season on challenge and was frozen cord by smooth..falls is getting better. Lazy mile didn’t have good snow was mini cookies, paradise was decent but crowded..upper and lower Main Street were decent the middle was sketch with ridges and shit. Midway was nice snow. Liftlines became moderate until the quad opened around 940 then not that bad but the runs were so crowded...mostly goobers. Skied till 1015 then hungout in the lot about a half hour. I want to ski tomorrow AM but will be a game time decision based on the rain. JADIP

Maybe they can start charging to use the bathrooms. At a rest stop in Germany I refused to pay to piss so I went in the woods nearby. Ending up stepping in shit and had to wear sandals all day. I hate sandals. Ended up clean it off my shoes at 11 pm.

That is completely wrong except for the less snowmaking because they don't need it except at lower elevations.

When the pandemic is over they’ll go back to selling as many freaking lift tickets as possible and filling every quad and six pack..also selling tickets at ticket windows or at least kiosks..filling the lodge with hungry and thirsty skiers...the lodge will once again smell like feet, French fries and urine as opposed to the inside of your mask and sanitizer.

Not as good as yesterday by a long shot. Lazy was a mine field. Challenge was smoother, but firm. Paradise was slightly cookied. Main Street was probably the most consistent snow.

They’re making no money on inside food so it’s not surprising ticket prices went up.

Politicians walk a fine line with getting the vaccines. For some reason people look to them for what to do with medical decisions instead of, you know, healthcare professionals, so it's a double edged sword. Turn down the vaccine and say that they should go to healthcare workers first and risk looking like you're avoiding a vaccine and sowing doubt or take it right away when you know you don't really need it over other more deserving people. The theater of national politics really gets in the way of actual usefulness in most cases.

I rode a lift today with people talking about hitting challenge next run. At 3pm. They looked at it from the lift and said "oh wow, moguls. It was smooth this morning." What? How long have you been here and not skied that more than once? Theres 4 trails

Got up at 7 with the family. Had some laps on Skool Hill then over to Paradise and back. Nice moguls on the top of Midway, Falls, and Challenge. The snow was mostly soft with a couple scrapped spots. Still fun to ride. Liftie at the carpet was an instructor and gave us some tips for the little one. They were helpful and it was much appreciated. Our Edgie Wedgie is supposed to be delivered next week and it’s been tough to hold the pizza and slow down. No lines at the lift but the trails seemed busy.

Got home a few hours ago. Today was awesome. Felt like January or Feb up there. Stashes in trees, trails open with natural snow only, western groomer like in other spots, private gondola rides. Really good ski day today. Wanted one or two more runs on Deer Run but the gondola "closed for maintenance" so we bailed. Great day otherwise.

I wish there was some incentive to get the vaccine like that. Literally pay people to take it. People would be lining up in seconds and we would be on a path to recovery a lot sooner.

I'm not even talking about 2020, I'm talking about ski industry and the proliferation of passes in general. Why is it completely not affordable to ski ad hoc, and why do I need to start committing to various combinations of "2 days there, 3 days here" in spring of the previous season??

Almost all hotel reservations are refundable. You got screwed in Stowe two years ago because you chose a non refundable option to save some money.
