I don’t know what the f#k happened to this thread... Really awesome to be sliding on planks again! I was stunned how well everything skied (except for chute and falls). Excited for much more to come. Legs did ok for day 1. See what happens tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk12 points

Edgie wedgie for the win! Got there a little later than I’d like, but for about 2 hours in this morning. Paradise was for sure best conditions, but the freeride word tour line is starting to get worked in nicely. Good little 3-4 hit line. Came back up in the afternoon for a little bit of school hill action. Went to summit to get a season pass and just skied up there. Unfortunately there were no magic carpet rides to be had, because someone didn’t show for their shift... got a little bit of extra workout today carrying a 30lb weight up hill repeatedly. First day on real skis, lasted about 1.5 hours with a break to explain how snowguns work, and she only fell twice, and wants to go back tomorrow. I’ll count it as a success! Really nice night out there. Not many crowds at all, seemed like mostly teenagers and a decent number of rentals out so I'm glad blue is making some money. Run of the night as definitely Main Street. Got my first runs on razors and nmdw so that was nice. Soft edgeable snow all over the mountain with only a few slick spots but they were still turnable so overall awesome night. It was also really warm out so it was really comfortable riding.5 points

Took my youngest out this morning. Was surprised by the lack of crowds. Some started rolling in around 10 or 11 but the wait for the 6 wasn’t more than 5 minutes. We bailed around noon.5 points

I'll be heading up for a night sesh tonight. Looking forward to whatever is left of the nice snow.5 points

Woot! Skied winter park today. It’s day 5 of my 12 days of Christmas vacation. I woke up at 7am and checked ikon for potential reservations. I suppose people cancelled overnight so I snagged a reservation for today. Not gonna lie though. I looked at the weather and thought - shit. This looks miserable. Temp at 11, wind gust at 25 mph, and cloud cover at 80%. When I asked @Schif, do you think this will be miserable? He told me to go for it. While driving over Berthoud Pass, I was like - wtf - why did I listen to him? I arrived around 10:30. Parked in my typical G lot spot. Hopped on the beer cans and got to the base. Thought about taking the gondola but the line was craaaaay-zee. So, I took the Arrow Lift (2x). In the past 24 hours, there was 6” of fresh snow and people were hypedddd about the fresh powder. when I finally made my first run around 10:30, it was tracked out powder... but still fun. I can’t complain. After Arrow, I did laps on Prospector Express (4x) and laps on Eskimo Express (6x). I ended up doing about 11k of vert over 3 hours. The snow on Engledive had me 😍 While waiting in line I heard a voice that I thought I recognized. I foooooor sure I thought I heard VP elect Kamala Harris behind me in line. But, it wasn’t. It was a mirage. Although, I wonder what my reaction would have been if I saw VP Mike Pense at Vail. Recordless. I ended the day on Hughes & Little Pierre and it was so fun. 😍 thought these pics were funny. Hope you all are getting after it and chasing the snow too.5 points

Hey All, I’m back from a fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot and it was 31 degrees under mostly cloudy sky’s. In the house were Atomic Jeff, Tarponhead, JFDan, MBike Mike, Bethlehem Ford Guy, Mixilplix, Indiggio,C1 and some of Rodney’s crew. First run on Razora was nice and smooth, Main Street I skied the most with nice snow on the top and ok snow on the bottom. Lower park run is now open to same the schlep over to homestretch. Paradise had nice snow and Nightmare to dreamweaver was a little scratchy. Managed 7 runs in the first hour and did two more after 9am and off the snow at 920AM..hungout in the lot for about a half hour and back in the A now where it’s over 40 degrees. Looking forward to groundhogs day tomorrow AM..not many season passholders and the herb tourons and wallets until later. JADIP4 points

I have a pro code with Flylow that gives me 40% everything. Let me know if you need anything. https://flylowgear.com/3 points

Think about that for a second. Like when you sell a ticket to someone exactly like you that needs a refund because the six stopped for over 30 seconds, and there was a brief ran shower, or the coffee wasnt hot enough.3 points

Awesome morning with a good pace. Best day for me at Blue this season. NMDW isnt quite on par with other trails as far as snow quality, but still skis ok, its firm, but not firm and trenched out. None of us will ever know what the ski patroler actually said to us at the top of Razors, but i doubt it was "go really fast, its skiing great" Razors was really nice, main was money.3 points

I'd rather listen to the sound my cats make when they cough up hairballs for 24 hours straight before that. But TBH my guy behind the counter here must've been hearing creed coming from my mouth when I was, in fact, asking him to take me lower. My negotiation techniques must've been off today. Edit Doctor Oz has covid vaccine volunteers on his show...ooh this should help me get through the next hour.......2 points

Jelly. I'm off today but sitting in firestone, watching a game show called 25 words or less (which I very much enjoy BTW) while waiting for new brakes, rooters, battery, a something flush, a something replacement and a something inspection. Will be back on Wednesday for a night sesh.2 points

I will say its annoying AF to have crowd and capacity basically doubled in the morning cause of the race team. That shit needs to be checked.2 points

PASR group XC at Jacobsburg State Park this afternoon was a ton of fun. Shout out to @mbike-ski for the elite loaner gear and for @Mixilplix for picking up my pieces every time I fell. @AtomicSkier joined in as well to test out his new skinz. We ended up doing about 3 miles from the environmental center up the ridge to the meadows and then back down through Henry's Woods. I was surprised at the amount of xc track that was already laid. Saw a few other people out there as well. Good shit. Looking forward to doing it again. I'm currently browsing gear online because this was an absolute blast.1 point

Yeah but Yeti's a whole different trail than Burma. You should check it out! I think my first time at Blue I skied Yeti and got 0.05 mm of air off one of the jumps.1 point

I was complimenting you for your efficient style. But ok. Back on topic. Paradise was like a western groomer yesterday.1 point

Maybe their system can only handle a certain number of people at one time. I know for Vail and the epicpass there can be long wait times.1 point
-
I'm in the Virtual Waiting Room just for fun, and the wait time is going up! Maybe next Blue will add more steps to check to see how many lift tickets are available, like make you answer 3 hard CAPTCHA puzzles correctly, win a chess match against an expert AI, and slay a 3 headed dog like the one in Harry Potter guarding the Sorcerer's Stone. Then after passing all that you can talk to an agent.1 point

Great day with fun people and good snow! Not too often I stay later than Steeze. Early morning laps and then over to Valley West with the fam. The school hill was packed and most of the terrain is reserved for lessons. Looked into lessons for the little one and they want $159 for 90 minutes. Holy f@ *it’s Boo Bear1 point

Skied Abasin this morning with my brother. Arrived at 8:30. The lifts were spinning and we were 4th row in the lot at the base. ABasin may have changed affiliations a few times but I appreciate that you can park at the base and the cell & WiFi reception is the same as it was 20 years ago (aka, non existent) i love skiing on Christmas. Lines are short and the people are all decent skiers. This was the line at Black Mountain Express at 11am. I’ve seen recirculated pics of long lines with no distancing in place... but I just want to show it’s not everywhere. We have a tradition of skiing on Christmas Day. Previous years it’s been Solitude, Keystone, Wolf Creek, Durango, and others. Obligatory Christmas photo for mom. We skied for about 2 hours because we have a Christmas dinner to prep. It was an absolute gorgeous bluebird groomer day. As the sun started to hit the snow, it warmed up and was even better. We winded the day with the Christmas brunch of pb&j and Colorado brews. On the drive down Loveland Pass, there was a small group with a grill cooking Christmas brunch and a tiny Christmas tree. I’m not sure what next year will bring but I’m hoping to keep with Christmas tradition. merry christmas, all!1 point

I skied Copper yesterday. No lines and plenty of space. But, it was like 9 degrees and windy. Did about 8k of vert in under 2 hours. It was my first day out so I took it slow. I didn’t take any photos on the mountain but this pic on 70 can give you an idea. Today, I skiied Winter Park. It was a blue bird day. Got about 12k in about 3 hours. To start, I parked in the free lot G (that’s me in the black SUV). Then, I strolled over to the Cabriolet lift (beer can lift) to hit the village. It was great to not have to take a shuttle bus. A couple of the lifts like Sunnyside, Challenger, Super Gauge Express, and the Gondola had 10 minute waits, everything else I pretty much skied right up to. If there was a line, I just opted for the slower 2 seater lift versus the express. It was easy to avoid the lines. Above is line of Super Guage Express, but just to the right is Pony Express and it had zero wait. It doesn’t take you as far up but got my skis back on the snow faster. The runs were mostly empty and easy to avoid, which felt like a sharp contrast to the Schuylkill River Trail in Philly. Ducked into some of the trees. Not much powder but it was good to practice the variability. the sun started to set and the shade rolled in around 3pm. Made it chillier but still fun to cruise down the runs as it begun to empty out. tomorrow is an ABasin morning ski..1 point
