Arrived at 645 with Mrs Mute and thought it wasn’t going to be fun. 30° and raining but it turned out to be a good time. I counted 8 other people on the hill and I’m surprised they were even open. Snow was like wet sand and visibility was fine except at the peak. Skied until 8 and then the gloves were the first to let moisture in. Temperature was comfortable and snow wasn’t terrible so I’m glad we went.9 points

This might have been the most consistent conditions yet...Nod to NM/DW and Switchback as ROTD...Low crowds too...Super good time this morning..... Two videos here but there not that great.......I think I need a white balance adjustment on the camera.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuCf8CsPxvU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0cHfXMmVgM5 points

I'm here now, well DV but that's still park city the town. I've skied the canyons/PC maybe 7 times? Where as all the rest way way more. I've skied DV 3 days so far and Alta/Bird 1 and by far the snow at Alta is in everyway better than DV. You hate icy snow yes ? Than your favorite place all week would have been Alta by far. Two days back 1" at DV was 6 at Alta. Its all awesome and amazing but the snow is generally better in LCC/BCC though it always depends on the year. Sometimes Basin and Pow Mow do really well over the canyons and one year Sundance had the most snow with Timp. Everyone agrees though, even my family who has a house at Park City its good but not LCC/BCC. Do whatever vacation you want except the mint, that shit is lame. I'm just saying there is a reason people talk the talk about the bird or Alta or whatever. Today DV opened Empire for the season and my brother, cousin and I got 3 laps in all the H&R fluff and stuff they had on the ground so far pretty much by ourselves as we can get their before everyone else with the car. Thats what its all about to me but I do think the resorts are very different and my least favorite is Park city fwiw.4 points

Better than expected and was getting better as the morning went on. They pulled the big jumps outta storage and hopefully they get lower park set up soon. Second day in a brand new pair of boots and they felt much better than my first session. Hoping to get them fully broken in within the next couple weeks. I’ve been DREADING getting new boots but finally had to pull the plug on my 7+ year old Nike’s😔 First lift of my morning I shared with @Benm, always nice getting to meet another PASR. Finally, at one point I saw a kid on the chair in front of me drink an entire 4loko on one lift ride. Thoughts and prayers to that young man lmao.3 points

Hey All, I’m back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 7:20am and it was 22 degrees under partly sunny sky’s. In the house were Shadows, TP4, Mixilplix, Atomic Jeff, Schifdawg, Eddie, charles, Charles dad, NMSki, Indiggio, Tarponhead, Gary, Slim, MBike Mike, JFDan, Mute Ryan, Barb Green, Tele matt, Mrs Snowbunski, Falco, Antman and many more. First run I skied challenge while most skied razors and it was alright..but some ridges..Razors for once was not closed for race training and it was grate..smooth and a level softer than frozen cord with minimal cookies. Paradise was very nice and Main Street was decent with upper good and lower meh..switchback was good enough for multiple runs and nightmare dreamweaver was average which is better than its been lately. I managed 11 runs in an hour and 40 minutes due to the low crowds then hungout in the lot for a couple hours..had some chips fries and a steely pork sandwich compliments of MBike mike..all in all it was better conditions than expected and crowds were light. Ski many of y’all tomorrow.2 points

I will add DV does have tremendous accessories. The St Regis deck at 7452 has insanely good oysters and truffle pizza. Rime has bomber steaks. I dont often drink during skiing but they do have very fancy drinks, drink people proclaim the shit. Empire has the Veuve tent, their ski school is the bestest, they have an oyster and tuna tartare at the top of the gondy on the Jordanelle side. That's what DV is all about and if that's your thing nobody does it better but Pow Mow is chicken tendies and rusty pick up but both are worth your time.........but not the mint LOL2 points

Oh hello everybody. Who will be in the house to ring in 2021?!? I should be there Saturday and Sunday. Hope to ski a bunch of PASRs there!1 point

Yeah same experience - they told me to ride for 3 days or so to naturally mold them a bit before going back to do the heat molding. If you don't like it after the heat molding, I think they said they can re-do it one or two more times after that. You should get better control once you have the heat molding done I would think - I know I did, but these boots definitely fit better than my previous ones1 point

Shes got the bug for sure, riding in the rain is hardcore PA skiing !1 point

I've got the 32 lashed now. They told me the exact same thing about molding them and they broke in on their own really well. I know the pain of getting rid of boots. I kept my old Salomon ones a year too long because I loved them so much I just couldn't part with them.1 point

I’ve been to them all and they all are worthy of a visit for different reasons. Let’s chat this weekend.1 point

Nope! I've been thinking of splitting my time between the Park City area and Cottonwood. I really like small touristy towns and think it would be fun to stay in PC for a few days. But of course it doesn't look like you can access the big resorts like Brighton, Solitude, etc. from PC except by doing a long ass loop via I-80, since the connecting pass is closed for the winter. So while Park City mountain isn't popular on here @Johnny Law, I wouldn't mind checking it out 1 or 2 days before going somewhere else. Or maybe Deer Valley, since that's close by. IDK. Everywhere's new to me out there so I'll have a blast at any resort. And yes, I plan to hit up some big places like Alta, Brighton, Solitude, etc. Not sure where yet but I've gotten a lot of advice from many (which I've mostly forgotten )1 point

I tried some 32s last year ...they make a nice boot ...I ended up with some Van's infuse.... They molded to my feet fine just by wearing them....1 point

I got the edges glued on both bases last night, I should be starting on the cores tonight. To get to this point on the first pair I had about 12 hours into the skis, I have about 1.5 hours in total into this pair so far. The second pair is going so much better with all the things I learned from the first pair.1 point

Seeing how CB is out, I just waxed my skis and put them away for storage. My Aspen business trip's been cancelled as well, so chances that I'd hit Loveland or Abasin early May are nil.0 points
