  1. Liftees were callin out people without masks. I think I saw shadows? BFG was there. Confusion again at lifts this morning. Gates opened (I believe late), then the lift stopped as ppl skied towards it. ski patrol walking away 2 min prior and leaving a snowboard in the middle of the stall was a super nice touch, should have skied over the topsheet but i'm not an asshole (although the frontplater i tailgated omw there was mumbling that i was. oh well go home). casually walked around the stopped chair in front of me to the other one that was at the 'wait here' line and waited until it started back up (9:03). Conditions were better the last few days, not bad though. Little cookies throughout. Looks like they are really, really trying to do something proper with dreamweaver. Lots of features. I was only able to get photos of the top. Many more features could be seen through the trees further down. Should be interesting to see it tomorrow. thats all

  4. March Sometimes it snows. And snows hard. March is the ideal time to visit; by then the mountains have a sufficient snow base and it’s historically when the big storms come. The past few Marches have left the mountain with several feet of snow overnight. https://www.lakeplacid.com/story/2019/01/skiing-whiteface-when-crowds-are-thin The snowiest week in Whiteface Mountain (Lake Placid) is week 2 of March. There are typically 4.0 snowy days during this week with 10.6 in of snowfall. Check out the Whiteface Mountain (Lake Placid) Snow History graphs below. Select any week of the year to see the typical Ski Conditions, Snowfall Amount and Temperature based on nowcast weather data over the last 11 years. https://www.snow-forecast.com/resorts/Whiteface-Mountain/history Whiteface averages 54% open at New Year's with nearly half of seasons being less than half open by New Year's. Much of the skiing is on exposed ridgelines that can be stripped of loose snow by the wind. Snow preservation is aided by high altitude and latitude in eastern context, so Whiteface averages 85% open mid-March and 70% open at first of April. Spring is the most likely time for Whiteface's Slides, some of the East's best expert terrain, to be open. https://www.zrankings.com/ski-resorts/175-whiteface-mountain

  6. Stopping the lift for people NOT wearing a mask would be a nice, awkward punishment for those that choose not to wear one.

  20. Trying to stay uninjured. They are compression sleeves for your legs. They work progressively from the foot upward to help get the lactic acid moving. Basically if your legs feel like bricks after a hard workout, you use these for 30 min and they feel much lighter and less sore. So you can recover more quickly and do more challenging workouts in your weekly schedule. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  22. I can’t do wait to call people out this weekend including Joan’s husband who absolutely refuses to cover his nose. When I told him before he said shut up Dougie. I do like the,”excuse me can you ask your friend to pull his mask up”

  23. SLC is cool and I enjoyed staying/eating there, but government officials going house to house checking garbage cans for recycling to write fines certainly rubbed me the wrong way also, if you want good food for cheap @saltyant, check out JB’s family restaurant in downtown Salt Lake City. It’s stuck in a time warp from late 80s-early 90’s, reminds me of places I went to when I was real young...you know it’s legit when the salad plates look like this:

  25. I saw a guy not wearing any mask at all (not half mask, not turtle neck, nothing at all) getting all the way to the chair. Attendant told him to put the mask on, the guy says "yeah, yeah", makes a lazy attempt to reach into his pocket while advancing to the red line, then puts half retrieved mask back and gets ready to board. Attendant doesn't say anything else, for he did what he was instructed to do, the guy also reached the mask-free zone, so that could be the end of it. But then the lift stops. Attendant doesn't say a word, the lift doesn't move, the guys is still on his feet and is starting to get nervous. Awkwardly reaches back into his pocket, pulls out the dirtiest ever blue medical mask, puts it on, looks at the attendant, but he just shrugs for the stop turned out to be totally unrelated. Eventually the lift starts moving again, the guy lands his ass on the chair, departs and immediately shoves the mask back into his pocket.
