After my adventures earlier on Sunday, I decided to ski tour up Park City Resort because my pass is still blacked & I wanted to ski. I checked out the website. It says you start at the First Time lift and follow Homerun lift up to Angle Station. Doing a ski mountain (that you’ve never been to) in reverse with no signage can be confusing. So I kinda followed people around me and took this route instead. Also, there’s a ton of crazy fit people who do this like it’s a walk in the park. I started around 6:30’ish. I saw about 10 people coming down and another 10 going up. Mile 0-1 was fine and I was cruising. When I hit about mile 1-1.5 going up Treasure Hollow - my breathing was heavier and it was harder. After 2 miles of uphill, I got to the top and chatted with two old men and another girl about my age. I skied down to the Pig Pen Salon (I started further down the mountain) and headed back to the car. The pictures just don’t do it justice. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area. It’s open from 6pm-8:30am and it’s free. I heard there’s a good size crowd of regulars in the morning for sunrise. I was reading about the Park City negotiations with Vail Resorts but didn’t see any protesters. Check out this article if you’re curious8 points

Hey All, I’m back from a fun morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 715AM and Johnny Law was already in the house. The temperature was in the upper 20s under overcast sky’s. Also in the house were Atomic Jeff, PSUFly, Nazareth Jay, BenM, Henry, Bethlehem Ford Guy, Marty and Rodney. First civilian six pack and first run on challenge was pretty nice groomed at the top and lower down a little rolly Polly maybe 5.7 out of ten. Razors wasn’t that good bad grooming with lots of rolly Polly. Upper Main Street was nice soft groomed and lower was ok on far left side. Paradise and lazy mile both a combination of loose and frozen granuler. Lower widowmaker was nice and smooth, switchback was a little spicy and midway was decent. I skied ten runs in an hour and a half then hung out in the lot for an equal amount of time. It was like yesterday as it felt cooler than the ambient temperature. JADIP7 points

Yesterday, I headed to American Fork Canyon (kinda by Lehi) with plans to ski tour from the Tibble Reserve with Wally. instead, I found an Utah family playground. and this kid was adamant about moving a soggy couch by himself. I really see him playing Sausage Sunday with PASR bros or doing keg stands at the ABasin beach in his future. We putzed around for a bit but the snow coverage was pretty low so I headed back to SLC. It looks like the snow water equivalent is about 50% below the median. I saw this on a FB Utah touring group. Thought you all might want to check it out.4 points

I feel like you should go on a ski trip of some sort or you’ll be even crabbier than normal if that’s even possible.3 points

All of the lift line guy, mask police, etc has been really sporadic, and weird as to when these people were there. Saturday, (or was it Sunday?) there was an armed security guard telling people that to go through the gates, they had to be properly wearing a mask. Then nothing after that. no liftline guy, no mask police, no armed security guard presence. Saturday, there were two employees kind of at either end of the passholders line calling people out for masks. Friday, like Jan 1st, it wasnt crowded, and there was the lifline guy there organizing the line, that really didnt need organizing as much as any other day. weird. Maybe its a staffing issue, which i get. I would think the employees would want people to wear masks, for their protection as well, but they seem to just kind of go with it. There was a ski patrol dude in line yesterday with his mask around his chin. Employees should be setting the example. I hope it doesnt continue to go this way. I just cant figure out why people just cant fucking wear a mask.3 points

Aside from the cookie minefield of opening weekend, yesterday was probably worst conditions I’ve skied this season. The shape/spacing of the bumps wasn’t bad, but they were definitely firm and I didn’t feel like swapping to narrower skis. Widow maker stayed good all morning until about 11, then somehow it just crumbled into a cookie heap. Conditions aside, what’s up with the shit show in the quad and six pack lift lines? Nobody corralling, counting, directing, yelling at dick nosers for being inconsiderate idiots. Seems kinda ridiculous that on a holiday weekend morning, there would be no employee presence at the lift lines at all aside from the people bumping chairs. We mostly skied off the Main Street chair to avoid the chaos. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

Bouy has been very unreliable lately. I think the extra poop from the overwhelming use of the place over the summer has clogged the intake and is making it pop when they go to reverse it to clear it out.3 points

Day 2 even better than day 1 as fresh snow continued falling, all lifts now open and we did a bunch of trees runs. Day 1: ski conditions 10/10, overall 9/10 Day 2: 10/10 on both fronts Ties with rare super fine days in past years for the best skiing we have experienced without boarding a plane and certainly better that quite a few days in CO/UT/NV too.2 points

Where is that? lines haven’t been bad at all. There were like 8 groups in front of me at Brighton but for the most part you ski right up. snow coverage is very meh on the chutes and doubles blacks, but it’s better than Pennsylvania.2 points

Truly Epic conditions. 18" of snow had fallen from Fri night to Sun AM with at least 6" of that Sat night - it would have been too much work to dig my car out so I took a shuttle bus. Continued snowing all day adding I would estimate another 4" on top of that. Every significant trail was open. Wind holds on the 2 main TTB lifts made for bad lines on the other lifts from the base - so we waited in that line once then stayed upper mountain all day til last run we did again from base (as upper lifts had closed). Got 13 runs in with fresh, deep, soft ungroomed snow on every one.2 points

It’s a black out weekend for my pass so I’m trying to find some trails to ski tour in. Yesterday, I drove a whopping 15 minutes to Millcreek Canyon. I did about 3.5 miles. Here’s a link with the basic information. https://wbsguide.com/1003.php I had Wally with me so I had to stop to talk to random people who wanted to pet him and it was frustrating to wrangle him since it was his first time skiing. He’s not ready for Burma Road yet.. Lots of signage always helps. and more signs I had Wallys 6 foot leash snapped around the bottom belt of my backpack. It worked out well. He mostly stayed to the top right of me. On the downhill, I mostly had him off leash to let him run. Although, the official rule of on-leash on even and off on odd days seemed to be a loose rule there. Crossed a cute bridge. Lots of family and engagement photos were being taken in this area. this is the start of the trail at the Maple Grove winter gate. When I came back, there were kids sledding on the left hand side of this pick. But, for the most part there were people ski touring on setups like mine and walking with crampons or snowshoes. We went up to Elbows Fork then turned around. This place had more signs than all of Snowbird. and we’re off! Wally did pretty well although he ended up with a small knick near his paw. He’ll be fine. and we’re back at the parking lot. He was checking out the ski bros in the area. all in all, it was good workout and safe ski tour. Since I don’t have a backcountry partner here, I’ve been sticking to the mellow trails like this one.2 points

Skied whiteface last weekend for the first time - super cool east coast mountain. Great snow coverage. Mountain was not 100% open but the trails were well maintained and little to no ice. Also tried skinning Sunday morning which was super awesome. Hard but well worth it. In case you make plans to visit Lake Placid or Whiteface - my brother and sister in law own a house 10 min driving distance to mountain and 20 min drive to Lake Placid. Nice cabin feel and pet friendly : Link to VRBO1 point

Might call out sick tomorrow 😷 I’m hoping the dog day care will take my broken dog and that I get to ski Alta. During the week, I’m hoping to skin up Park City again (before or after work) or do Brighton night sesh. This weekend, I’ll be at Deer Valley and Alta.1 point

"To keep kids on the snow" was a witty take on DARE. Nicely don't to whoever coined that (@AtomicSkier )? we've matured like a fine wine over the nearly 2 decades now. instead of stickers I say we bring back the "Men of PASR Calendar" idea. We could see if the local ski shops and true blue would be interested in carrying it.1 point

Hey All, I’m back from another fun day at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 720am and it as 33 degreees under overcast sky’s with a strong west wind. In the house were Atomic Jeff, Johnny Law, Mixilplix, MBike Mike, NMSki, Mrs. Snowbunski, Indiggio, BenM, JFDan, Matt Edge, Zack, Toast, Justo, KevinThomas, Tele Matt, Enjorales, Pops, Bethlehem ford Guy, west Chester homeys,’Schifdawg, Antman, TP4 and many others. The lineup for first chair at 8am was massive..probably 150 people..I skied challenge first and it wasn’t that good..firmish, not that smooth and the snow was falling apart fast. Upper Main Street was slightly better and lower Main Street was rough. Paradise was pretty bad sandy crud and lazy mile was alright. My favorite run was tuts lane to connector to lower widowmaker to midway to little gap to yeti to Burma to shuttle to lower park. It was sausage Sunday and Enjorales said it would be a pretty low key SS today so there was just multiple kinds of sausage, pork loin, steak, burger sliders and Thai sliders and grilledsteeze..the lot was cold even though it was almost 40 degrees out the wind was brisk and the clouds were thick. All in all despite less than optimal ski conditions it was a fun day..JADIP1 point

Any Sunday where I spend twice as long in the lot as I do on the snow is a fine day. Thanks again to @enjoralas for showing my taste buds a good time.1 point
