Blue the True was fairly nice this morning. The sun was out to start, but the zinc clouds rolled in shortly after. I was able to squeeze in just over an hour of skiing before work. Razors was ROTD and probably the best that it has been all year... 10/10 good. Nice grooming, blow over from challenge. Felt nice to rip down that. Everything else was good to mediocre at worst. This next cold spell should help them keep some good snow around for a while. @AtomicSkier @GrilledSteezeSandwich @mute1080 @theprogram4 were all in attendance, although I didn't see TP4 on the slopes. Still making snow on Challenge and Switchback. Ski you all this weekend. I'm sure GSS will start a roll call thread soon.7 points

Went back for a night session with Boo and skied 5-7:20. Temp was comfortable at 32° and light winds. Crowds seemed lighter then the last 2 nights and lines were only a couple minutes wait. Top of Razors was a little bumped up but the snow that blew over from Challenge and was still good. Plenty of sugar and did think of GSS talking about the Pocono shuffle watching most people ski tonight. Sidewinder was fun with the 3D snow and push piles that made you pay attention. Great day to look up too. Sunset was purty, a guy at the top of the 6 pointed out the ISS going over head(which is moving 17,130 mph btw) and a Chinook came for a close fly by when we went down SW. Got to chat with @enjorales and pops in the lot for a bit before leaving, which was nice. I think I saw@mattedge on the hill too Only took one photo today so enjoy. Watch out west bound 946 about a mile past Moore Elementary on you way to Blue.5 points

Love me some Chris Tomer YouTube videos. He is a local weather guy and avid outdoorsman who is always skiing, hiking etc. He spins his forecasts for outdoor activities and tells you weather at different elevations which is super helpful here. Kinda hard to see from this screen shot but CB looking to get 14” by Sat evening! Town is really dry, I could actually see asphalt on the road. I don’t think that has ever happened in winter before (that I have witnessed) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk4 points

I had a chimney guy come look at one of my chimneys and he wanted me to take a look at the top of the chimney to show me something and my arms and legs were shaking as I climbed the extension ladder and got all the way up there. I find it funny how I can stand on skis above a huge cliff or exposure and I'm totally fine but I can't climb a damn ladder without freaking out.4 points

Had a GREAT time at Bear Creek this morning. I got 20 runs in with temps in the upper 30s under mostly sunny sky’s. They blew snow the night before so many trials had a couple inches of manmade perder for the first few runs, to go a long with very nice snow everywhere else. Also, a nice selection of rails down cascade and black bear. Ole Sassy was ROTD and still one of my favorite runs when it’s open. This was my first time back to BC in many, many years and it brought back a lot of fond memories. I grew up riding BC in my teens, having a season pass there for many years. I recently moved 15 minutes from BC and will be getting a season pass there next year for casual weeknights. Can’t beat a $400 season pass 15 minutes from the mountain. I should’ve taken some pics but I didn’t, just a snap.3 points

My bad. I'm home now. Was a nice sunset sesh.. Jeff was right as SW was sugary. Overall it was a fun night though. switch was closed but laced in cord as it was just groomed so I was tempted to poach. Upper main was ok. Lower main was meh. lots of rollers. Falls run out and homestretch are a roller derby. Did a NMDW run (RIP). Challenge was closed but being groomed. P Dizzle probably had the best conditions. All in all it was a nice night at the True.3 points

Hey All, I’m back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 820am and it was in the low 20s under mostly cloudy sky’s. In the house were Mute, Ryan, Atomic Jeff, Toast, TP4, C1, Rodney and Bethlehem ford guy. First civilian 6-pack and Razors for the first run which was $$$$. The first headwall had blowover from challenge which provided plenty of untracked cushion for the pushing. Repeated that again then to Main Street which was decent but not as good with some sugar and slick spot or two. The rest of the session I just lapped Razors because it was so good. The untracked manmade perd turned to chalky push piles and stayed relatively smooth. Fairly busy this morning but not as bad as last week. The snowmaking cannons continue to blast on challenge and a few random spots and they are starting to groom out switchback. Should set up for a very nice weekend at Blue the true. JADIP3 points

But it gets the place open quickly, I guess. Think about how spoiled we would be if every day was a perfect groomer carpet and and there were never death cookies and skeet spots? As they say, you have to live through the rain to see the rainbow to appreciate what you have. Just kidding. A perfectly groomed carpet every day would be wonderful. I'd take the JFBB ops team any day if they could replicate that at Blue.2 points

I don't think the problem really is with Blue's mountain ops guys, it's with not wanting to spend the $ on quality conditions.2 points

They mostly had everything open when I was there. The long boring green (Lehigh) and some of the blues on the right side of the mountain (when facing it) were not open, but there are many great black and blue runs to choose from.1 point

I noticed at Blue recently on NMDW and earlier on Sidewinder, they blew snow, leveled out the snow gun whales into a jumbled mess, let it sit through several freeze thaw cycles blowing more snow before grooming it out. At Frost they seem to leave the whales until they are done blowing snow, and then groom it out completely in one day (or night).1 point

Is the difference at Blue from grooming too fast, or is it an issue from the snow not being allowed to sit and dry out before it's pushed out?1 point
