My chauffeur just dropped me off in the middle of the road to get back home. This morning at Blue was one of the most memorable days I have ever had there. Holy cow. I ended up skinning to the bottom of my road to get picked up by @AtomicSkierfirst thing this morning. An absolute magic carpet ride. The drive to Blue wasn't terrible since there was a bit of a break in the weather. Once we got there and got out on the snow there was about 8-10" of snow on the ground. Pretty significant delayed opening because of chair icing up and needing to be spaced out. Once the lift started spinning we knew we were in for a treat. First run was down Razors and the only other track was from ski patrol. Next run was down Challenge which had tracks but was still silky goodness on the sides. After that it was a game time decision for the next run and I wanted to hit up Coming Soon. There were 3-4 tracks down coming soon and so I followed them in. PASRs followed behind. The top was a bit wind blown but still very skiable. Once you got to the last headwall that dropped into Paradise it was heaven. The last headwall offered endless powder shots. So good we did it a second time after. The turns on the last headwall are fantastic. I wish I would have taken out my camera to take pictures or video but it was just too boner city the stop the bouncy, flowing turns through the titty sparkles. Overall it was a 12/10 day. That. Fucking. Good. Lots of PASRs in the house. All of us came back out to the lot with smiles the size of dinner plates. Beers were consumed. Stories were told. It's a good day to be a skier in PA. I hope others post video and pictures that they took, because today was a gem 👌 Fuck. Today was fantastic.

Today was something else. Enjoy the enthusiasm. There is a video of the second run down with a better angle and wider view, but I think this expresses the emotions better.

Things I learned on my first pow day: Get on the road early and clean your windshield. Trudging through high snow to the lift is not fun. Doing a 50 yard dash in ski boots is much less fun than that. Skis a lot slower than I expected. Skis much different than groomers. Disregard skipo. Shit bumps up quick. I think that's it.

That right there is why we ski gents. Just pure emotion like that. Seeing the smile on @Benm's face when he came out to the lot said it all. He popped his pow cherry and he couldn't hide it.

Shiiiiit, today was tits Mcgee and then some. The stoke was super high and first run down razors delivered but coming soon was what its all about. Meadow skipping start and then boom lower headwall, I can see toast with the pow bounce, Atomic was hooting the loudest I think I've ever heard, Ben getting blue pow day for the first time. It's definitely up there in memorable days. Best first run on a blue trail ever ! Ride home I even got a long stretch with no other cars, its soooo much better to drive without the kooks out there.

My run on coming soon..the second run for Toast and Atomic Jeff and Johnny law there was a patroller at the top yelling at us to stop and one at the bottom. I was shocked when I was told later in the lot it opening to the public. It’s a really wide run..wide enough for four people to ski side by side and you really go into paradise with a lot of speed. Also Main Street chair did open close to on time and there was a pilgrimage of people hiking up lower park to shuttle to get there..I wanted untracked on Razors and it was my best Razors run ever..typically the top headwall is windblow but the snow just lay there virgin and unmolested about 8” perfect medium density....all float... We lined up at he quad around 835 and the employees were funny saying things like,”we aren’t open yet” no shit..fuck at Jackson hole people get in line for the tram at 645am on pow days and cook breakfast for extra gnar points. These are the best of times..also Nastar Glenn was the first PASR to arrive at Blue today and I’m sure they could hear his high pitched squeals all the way on Burma. Boom boom boom pow pow pow ring a ding ding!!!!

Some Feb 1 action in the place called Jackson... Big inversion day. First one I experienced it here. Headwall was mostly nice and soft but a bit chunky in sun exposure. The play of the day was north facing trees like North Woods shown here

Today was awesome. I had to run to work first thing but thankfully they closed and I was able to get to Blue before 9. Great people and great snow made for 10/10. The apres beer just topped it off. Blizzard like conditions made a fun drive home. Didn’t have any issues but the road disappeared a couple times.

I can’t top Toasts report but I’ll add some notes later. Took me 55 minutes both ways not terrible. Saving grace was not many people on the roads. I skied four runs today..Razors, Challenge, Sidewinder and Coming soon right to my car. Anybody who skied today is dedicated and for the peeps coming later it’s still gonna be boner city!!! JADIP

I insisted on getting @toast21602 to his house. Well, the drifts didn't disappoint, quite a few whiteouts. I did his neighborhood a service though by plowing it.

Yup, this is why we do dumb things like drive when people say to stay of the roads. Razors was magical first run, and its been a while that we have the powder luxury. Sucks for the lift shenanigans in the morning, I knew since Main Street chair was open for a while before the quad, the trail over there that typically doesnt see much traffic was gonna be found out, so Mbike, Glenn and myself stuck to Razors, Challenge, Coming soon, Side, and then 2 runs through the trees at Lazy. 2nd time at the trees we dropped in further up on Tuts, and surfed some turns down to the glade. Good coverage, but there is some weird terrain in there cause i guess we were actually on a bike path. Blue had posted on FB ways back coming soon would open with natural snow. i mean, i guess technically they are the ones that get to decide when its open, but they really already had put the wheels in motion back in December when the basically said it could be skied with natural snow. its a moot point now, but i doubt anybody would lose a pass over it. maybe get a firm talking to, but no loss of pass.

Just got a weather alert that they are calling for an additional 12-18 on top of what we already got here.

The parking lot is always giving out free refills. I've never seen anyone's cup run dry out there.

Wao sounds like the best day ever. I hope you took some GoPro footage for myself and @indiggio et al. Since we have to ski vicariously today. I think you'll get 10 or 15 boner cities easy on this thread. Also the title of the thread is R rated, this site's for all ages.

I just got in from running the snow blower. Shit is light and fluffy (for PA anyway). Shin to knee deep depending on the drift. Jelly as shit of the PASRs there right now. I still think I'm gonna try a night sesh later.

Pretty dense bands coming through the area shortly. Wouldn't be surprised to see 3-6" fall in the next 2-3 hours. Some of these weather forums are cray cray right now with people blowing their loads over this.

Most of us snowlovers wanna see a boatload of snow in our backyard as well as at the ski areas

Time approved for tomorrow. I want to ski coming soon...won't be open at night so I plan leaving here butt ass early tomorrow morning. Who's going tomorrow

Still dumping here. I'd be willing to bet that we have another 12 hours of snow in our future based on the radar and current storm movement. Hoping to make it up to Blue tomorrow morning as well.

What did the patroller say the 2nd time we went coming soon ? My method is to pretend I can't hear and keep going because odds are they won't chase but I legit couldn't make out what he was yelling about and the guy at the bottom said nothing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Perfect video, it captures the hype and feelings perfectly !
