Keep seeing all these backcountry reports you guys are posting and figured I'd better get off my ass and hike some runs... Checked out a spot just outside of Reading (I'm sure @Johnny Law is familiar with this spot). I swapped a set of bindings on my old Capita board and got to the spot around 2 today. First run was down this rocky mess. Through the woods, around those 2 logs at the bottom in the background, and back to the main trail. Hiked along some more and found some more lines that looked interesting. Took pictures of a few...mostly pretty mellow stuff, winding around trees, etc. Still plenty of snow. First attempt at a video with my phone (watch in the higher quality so it doesnt look like garbage). Clipped a rock and went for a tumble... Got up and started just above this spot... I got a knock-off go pro, still waiting on the memory cards to arrive. Maybe I'll get some videos that don't suck if the snow sticks around.10 points

Skied for a few hours this morning at Crested Butte. Got in line around 8:45am, and was surprised when they started loading around 8:50am. I was at the top for after my second lift ride by 9:15am 😁 Goal today was to just cruise around, get the lay of the land, and get familiar with navigation. Rode most of the lifts seeing where the good terrain and good groomers are. Few observations: 1) I think I'll do my daily hour-ish of skiing at noon to get full light on the mountain. My dark lens let me a little blind at some spots first thing 😎 2) The views are spectacular 3) There are some serious cheese grater rocks out there 😳10 points

Skied 540-710 with the family and it was grate. Every run was empty and skied right on to the lift. 28°, light rain, with firm hero snow. The kid experienced around the world for the first time, including through Yeti so you can say it got technical. Booted up and then had a beer after with mbike-ski which topped the night off. Clothes are wet but nothing soaked through so I’m glad we went.9 points

By the way he simply adores when you say milk it, knowing how much he likes it NM and tried to use it as frequently as possible. Let's all try to work it into our blue lexicon so he feels appreciated when he gets back.8 points

Just got home. Conditions were really nice. Ran into Salty in the lot who was parked in@AtomicSkier spot. After talking with him for a bit about whiteface he told me, really loudly, that he's giving me a boner city on this thread when he gets home. that was not at all embarrassing. Lol. Sleepy hollow to main was rotd but honestly everything was good. Coming soon reminded me of tunk at elk but bonier. Skiers far right was probably the best path. Razors still has super g jumps which hould fare well with the presidents day crowd. Sidewinder and switch were $$. Hoping conditions hold because blues been grate these past few weeks!8 points

I’m catching up on all of the PASR posts. These pictures and videos are absolutely amazing!! Cant wait to hear about it in the lot. The house was fun - If only we were able to get a photo of everyone wearing their matching hot tub robes on the stairs! @AtomicSkier @NMSKI@Johnny Law I wanted to replace the elk photo that was above the fireplace with a matching robe pic. So glad I got to meet the famous @Barb too! She’s even better in person. @GrilledSteezeSandwich- I don’t have a great trip report to post. I did some uphill touring on Tuesday-Thursday since I had work Before Telluride, I never really had a favorite ski resort. There were things I liked about certain resorts but I never got the full package until... Telluride. I left Telluride on Thursday and started to think about what it would take to live in a ski town like telluride. After 6.5 hours, I was in Denver again. I started my drive back east on Friday night and after 24 hours of driving I’m finally home in Pennsylvania. in some delusion on i-70, I decided to stop briefly in Casey, IL.... The home of the worlds largest wooden chair and largest wind chim, among other things 😂 I highly recommend you save your time. All vacations for 2021 are downhill from here especially in the Midwest. I hope to not drive anywhere for a very long time, except for an occasional trip to Bleu or to the wine store so I have something to drink while l catch up on your gnarly ski-fari adventures. Have fun!8 points

I was advocating for a “milk that” icon that would be an udder. Kind of like how we got the eggplant for “boner city”. Don’t think it’s gonna happen.7 points

Snow was pretty good today. Really weird to not see a bunch of PASRs. Did Coming soon withy Salty once but I was waiting at the Quad for him to come down behind me and he turned for the Sixer instead so I just rode solo. Good snow, pretty much no crowds. Goggle freeze sucked but wasn't terrible. Wished I could have stayed later but I have a bunch of homework I need to do today so I'm home already.6 points

i guess i should round htings out and write something since ridge and salty did. almost busted my ass leaving my house today a couple times because i didn't expect garbage precip last night. driveway is still like a luge with berms on the side keeping me in the middle. roads were fine there and back. precip not bad around 8 but seemed to get a little worse around 9ish. my gloves are nothing impressive but they have a little scraper thing on them, so that helped a lot with goggle freeze. lift with salty maybe 3-4 times, met up with ridge for a couple runs. stayed a little later than normal thanks to early opening. last lift ride up on the quad and, man, razors had a ton of people who were power wedging and grouping together trying to avoid those jumps, i'm sure it's going to get interesting as the day progresses. everything was great condition wise, firmer than last week but easy to set an edge. crowds were fine through my session. pretty tame for a holiday which is a-ok with me.6 points

I'll be up later this week after the ice storm, I thought about this morning but my ass was tired from flying all day yesterday and my ski bag was delayed. Good to see blue is still skiing well.4 points

Soul 7s is correct. 180 length, going up 8 cm over my current ski. Picked up Tyrolia SX10 binding for them. Probably take them up to Blue to get mounted tomorrow after work. Post pic when I get ‘em back3 points

Listen closely...i belive he's saying "elk day". This is obviously because subconsciously he was wishing he was at elk instead. Go to the 5 second, mark on saltys video and tell me I'm wrong.3 points

Skied a few runs with benm who had to hit the road. Conditions are really really good. Crowds are non-existent compared to Saturday. It's busy but nothing like the weekend was.3 points

Yeah it was the funnest I've had skiing at Blue this season. Gotta get after it while conditions are top notch. Hopefully it takes a big dump on Thursday and makes everywhere skiable again. And hopefully the crowds start dwindling now that we're post President's Day weekend.2 points

Today was groomer heaven. Every run was amazing, and it was nice to finally ski Razor's and Razorback a bunch of times. I took the Main St Chair to do Widow Maker to Chute a few times in a row which was awesome. Wasn't feeling the ungroomed snow today as it was (obviously) harder than yesterday afternoon, so I stuck to groomers except 1 run on Coming Soon with @Schif Dawg way ahead of me as I picked a path down to avoid further scratching my RTMs. The first hour had virtually no lines, and by the time I left at 10:30 the crowds were pouring in. Overall a fun day but not as fun as yesterday when I skied all over the True Mountain2 points

Hopefully we get a blast of snow first on Thursday to fill in the troughs. Most of them were down to the grass as of yesterday.2 points

Think twisting across the length of the ski. I wouldn't get too crazy with specs but ride them as well because it really depends where the stiffness is and how's it applied across the ski. Something that is only stiff in the tails skis alot different than something that's stiff across the entire ski. Your not looking for a radius or something but a ski that allows you to carry more speed with the absolute key of any ski, confidence. You got your turny smooth good groomer snow ski now you need something that also pushes you when it's uneven. Your a strong bike rider so use those muscles when it most matters, when it snows and it's 3d. Whatever ski does that buy that ski. Especially for Whiteface. Last I saw you ski challenge from the lift you wanted more than the rtms can give you at speed. You have more leg in the ski that in can handle without being twitchy. That's what I saw for whatever thats worth.2 points

Later swapped into my RTMs to mess around off piste more, and skied under the Quad (top section) which I accessed from the woods to the left of Coming Soon. Exited by blasting along a narrow track on the hills to the right of P-Dizzle, which was a bit white knuckle as I was going fast. But made it out OK. Also skied under the Main Street/Burma chairs from Coming Soon Come Around and down, which was a blast!! The last part right before the lifts is mad steep and narrow, but I made it the whole run without falling. Overall a grate day and it was really fun doing a lot of stuff I've never done as it felt like a new mountain. Now time for SUJOPO. JADIP.2 points
