  6. Nice. I’m a pretty handy guy. I could do this. I’ve also fixed the wiring at enough businesses at $100 per to know there’s reasons to pay someone else to do things I could Google and half ass with almost correct equipment.

  7. You can always buy new skis. You cant ever get back those precious moments of skiing off piste at Blue Mountain. Now I sound like JohnnyLaw

  8. Definitely did not get as much freezing rain and rain as projected last night which is good. The snow on the ground here as a nice coating of ice and it doesn't seem like much was lost. The system moving through on Thursday seems to be trending colder which is good so @saltyant won't be so sad if a piece of ice falls from the sky. Keep your eyes on early next week too. Depending on temps and a buoy pop, there could be something there. I've heard snow breed snow...

  9. Started clearing up around 10 today so I headed out for a few runs. Pretty quiet, no line on the quad all morning. Spent all my time on Razors and Challenge. Nice conditions. Got a little soft around noon with temp around 50. Coming Soon was closed. A lot of teenagers out today.

  13. Storm is trending southeastward and also colder. Still looks good for 6-10” for the Lehigh valley and southern Poke N Hoes. We might hit 50 degrees here today. Already 43.

  14. This one time when Atomic Skier banned me for no reason, I didn't go on PASR at all for a whole week. Longest stretch since I joined this site. I bet when bike riding season starts Atomic Skier and I will be best bros again

  18. The Valentine's Day storm of 2007 was Armageddon in Hazleton. Power out for days, people trapped on the Interstates, grocery store shelves empty. I remember walking around the neighborhood hearing chainsaws and trees falling, and remember the distinct smell of the portable kerosene heater burning in the living room, trailer park neighbors huddled around for warmth.

  21. I initially found it humorous that the second most populated state in America completely shut down over a few inches of snow, but then I remember the 2014 ice storms and 3-4 days without power. That shit sucked...No matter how many blankets you used when you went to bed, you were absolutely freezing not only the next morning when you woke up, but had chills for most of the day

  34. Keep seeing all these backcountry reports you guys are posting and figured I'd better get off my ass and hike some runs... Checked out a spot just outside of Reading (I'm sure @Johnny Law is familiar with this spot). I swapped a set of bindings on my old Capita board and got to the spot around 2 today. First run was down this rocky mess. Through the woods, around those 2 logs at the bottom in the background, and back to the main trail. Hiked along some more and found some more lines that looked interesting. Took pictures of a few...mostly pretty mellow stuff, winding around trees, etc. Still plenty of snow. First attempt at a video with my phone (watch in the higher quality so it doesnt look like garbage). Clipped a rock and went for a tumble... Got up and started just above this spot... I got a knock-off go pro, still waiting on the memory cards to arrive. Maybe I'll get some videos that don't suck if the snow sticks around.

  36. Think twisting across the length of the ski. I wouldn't get too crazy with specs but ride them as well because it really depends where the stiffness is and how's it applied across the ski. Something that is only stiff in the tails skis alot different than something that's stiff across the entire ski. Your not looking for a radius or something but a ski that allows you to carry more speed with the absolute key of any ski, confidence. You got your turny smooth good groomer snow ski now you need something that also pushes you when it's uneven. Your a strong bike rider so use those muscles when it most matters, when it snows and it's 3d. Whatever ski does that buy that ski. Especially for Whiteface. Last I saw you ski challenge from the lift you wanted more than the rtms can give you at speed. You have more leg in the ski that in can handle without being twitchy. That's what I saw for whatever thats worth.

  38. One hour from NYC is Snow Bowl Ski Area. Opened in 1964 and closed in 1974 the area had a big three story lodge, tavern, two double chairs and snowmaking on 400 vertical feet. After the owners sold the area expansion plans were formed but warm winters and a fire that destroyed the lodge would result in the area's closure. Unique among lost areas is that Snow Bowl is still actively skied. Locals keep the liftlines and several trails open for gladed riding when conditions permit. If there is snow its a really fun place to bag turns.

  39. Adding to the Telluride stoke. It was great groomer day. Skied from 9:30-3pm, about 25k very. Started by skiing down to the Chondola. Here’s the Chondola x gondola crossing Sun was shinning. The corduroy was set. Heading up to start my whirlwind tour of Telluride with Jeff The sun peaked in and out but most of the time it was gorgeous weather The majestic bowl was quite wind swept (to the left of this pic below) Took the plunge lift and played in the area towards the end of the day. @RootDKJ-saw this and thought of you Ended the day by finding @AtomicSkier and @Barb in the gonorrhea ranch.
