This morning was sickbird!!! The drive to Blue took a couple extra minutes but due to booting up slowly I was in the second row at the gates and was in the fourth chair with Salty and TP4. Also in the house were Toast, BenM, Nastar Glenn, Johnny Law, Bethlehem Ford Guy and a few others. I skied Sidewinder first and it had an inch and a half of untouched Perder..was super pleasant. Challenge next was similar and switchback was deep. Upper Main Street still had a lot of untouched Perder and X-ing was Boner doner..so good I skied it twice. Crowds were light as there were still 300+ unsold morning tickets. Later in the morning a run on nightmare to dreamweaver yielded more swaths of untouched pow pow and Nastar Glenn got at least 3 feet of air off a side hit..I also scored some freshies on Razorback. It’s just amazing how a few inches of new snow totally transforms the conditions. It snowed the entire time I was skiing and in the lot continued to snow with a bit of sleet pounding down at the end. I think Blue received about 4” of snow with a solid 5-6” here at my work. Anyway off to do some shoveling fueled by some beer and fun dip. JADIP. I’ll be back tomorrow for the opening ring a ding ding.8 points

Won’t make it to blue this weekend, going to Elk Saturday and Montage Sunday. Gotta get the family out this weekend to make up for neglecting them last week in CO!7 points

Didn’t pay attention to weather yesterday. I knew it was going to snow but I think they underestimated. Nothing is plowed. Officially we got 7”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk6 points

Drive to blue was only crazy with the traffic, maybe my longest trip to blue ever. Drive home was way faster but it had mostly stopped snowing by then4 points

Yup that's all pretty generally true. In most cases (I'm looking at you, K2...), the "center" line on the ski will put the middle of your foot over the narrow point of the ski, which theoretically centers you over the sidecut. Obviously this point can vary pretty greatly from one ski to the next. @AtomicSkier's Kastle FXs might be around -10cm from true center, whereas my ON3Ps are about 4cm back from true center. Those two skis have very different sidecut designs and intentions as a ski. If you ski with a more upright, neutral stance, you can generally push the mount point of a ski farther forward. If you really like to drive a ski through the shovel, you might want to move it back. That point also gives you reference as to where the ski is thickest. While you can stray from that point in either direction, you don't want to start flirting with putting screws into the ski where the core starts to thin out, if you can avoid it. Basically, it's a reference point that's going to work well enough for 99% of people. Exceptions include people skiing a lot of park laps, sliding rails, spinning, etc, or people who are very in tune with how they ski and how that plays with the shape and construction of the ski they're on and how they might want to alter that mount point to get the most out of their given ski. Happy to dive deeper on this if you've got a specific pair of skis in mind.3 points

Could also take in Deer Valley too, if you're fearful of B/S. Interlodge definitely doesn't suck if you're there. You're just staring out at the snow waiting to go out and play in it, knowing that all the townspeople can't get there! No better sound than waking up to avy guns/bombs going off!3 points

I browse listings on Zillow for kicks. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/220-E-12th-St-Silverton-CO-81433/249004128_zpid/?utm_campaign=iosappmessage&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=txtshare this one is in silverton CO. Looks like a saloon. And besides a badass mountain, there’s also a train out your door. choo choo.3 points

Trash is out! I haven't had a ton of time to explore yet. Friday will be a longer ski day for me I think, so I'll start exploring more. I've just been enjoying the soft-ish off trail snow, and same fast groomers.3 points

Yep, it was early afternoon. The snow under the lift was very skiable, but I was a little worried about the sheet of death ice underneath. Turned out it was no problemo. There were no tracks under the chairs at the time and it was pretty nice getting some fresh.2 points

Blue was a circus tonight after they closed the quad at 7. No reason to with the crowd size but they seem worried about the bottom line compared to spacing people out. Sixer went to 10 deep outside the scanners with no mask enforcement and line management. It was a crappy way to end the night and sucked as a follow up to a nice Monday night this week. Snow was fine sugar on scrap but I was only lapping paradise with boo and the little one. Capped the night off with doing my best AtomicSkier driving experience on the way home since we left later then normal. Didn’t work out to well since someone in the back seat threw up in in their car seat [emoji2961] Hoping to get up tomorrow for opening but I’ll have to swing by work first.2 points

@poconoceancity I'll buy you a pass to blue if you can get Cecily to give PASR a shout out on air. I'll buy you 2 passes if you can convince her to sign up and become a contributing member.2 points
