Hey all. I'm back from a session at true mountain the blue mountain. Place was empty even though I didn't get on the snow until 8 20. Hit Sidewinder, lazy, and NMDW to start. Then 2 runs on switchback and lapped come around park. Actually did several rails without any beers being consumed and the jump there was pretty good. Bumps on chute...main street had soft snow but kinda choppy. Stopped riding probably around 10...had a beer in the lot with @mbike-ski. As we were finishing up, @Benmand @enjoralasand pops finished their session. Sausage Sunday with each of us having a double cheeseburger (delicious) and a few beers under the ez up tent. Also in the house was BFG and Falco's crew13 points

Snow was awesome today. I would have been pissed at myself if I skied yesterday morning in the rain and missed today’s pre-rain window. Skied 8 beautiful rain free runs plus two in the light stuff once it started. Run of the day was definitely Switchback, also enjoyed Sidewinder more than average. Main Street was pretty variable by the time we got on it, Lower worse than Upler but skiers left was decent. Good time in the lot, ez up was clutch and I’m glad those burgers didn’t suck since they were just a premade frozen patty. And @GrilledSteezeSandwichhelmets were only on until the ez up went up and grill started warming up, and had a dry spot to deboot. Next session should be Tuesday night, for Minime’s first trip down Paradise.6 points

For a Sunday I'm astonished at how quickly I can board many of the lifts. I found a nice one that I can keep lapping some fun runs. But yeah, I always try to be a contrarian and do what the crowds dont. Sun's out, blue skies, amazing snow conditions. It doesn't get better than this!6 points

I did. Heres how it went... Me: hi front desk lady at Cobble mountain lodge. Salty says hi. Front desk lady: salty? Oh you mean the guy who complained his room temperature being one degree warmer than he likes it. Me: yeah that's the guy. Front desk lady: sorry...we're booked up but we'll let you sleep in your car. Have fun in utah.5 points

Try to avoid the main feeder lift when everyone is headed out and up. Alta, PC, DV all have one main lift, Sunshine at Alta or Collins if it snows, Silver Lake at DV and you know PC now. When it's busy you'll tend to notice everyone is pretty much going the same ways so go the other way. It's like Vail you have to ski back to front because all the herbs are going the other way but it's raining here so enjoy man I would much rather be at PC.4 points

We bailed on this weekend for exactly that reason. I’ll ski in the rain for empty trails and no lift lines, but didn’t feel like driving and gambling that a bunch of people with day tickets were gonna be sucking up the weather because they were locked into their tickets. Went surfing instead, got more waves than I would have runs at blue, and the rain didn’t matter cause I was already in the water anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk4 points

Senior year of high school the ski club took a trip to park city. We befriended a bus driver who bought everyone booze and cigarettes. One night driving through town we asked him to run over a stop sign and he actually did it. We all cheered as the bus drove away from the mangled stop sign. It layed on the side of the road the rest of the trip3 points

@saltyant whatever you do, demo the size closer to 180, not closer to 170s.3 points

I'm curious to see what you actually enjoy skiing out of your demo selection tomorrow. Demoing skis is a fun because you can see the difference from one ski to the next pretty quickly, and if you tell them what you like or don't like about each ski they can usually find something to meet your needs.3 points

Sadly I'm titty free and eat a fuck ton of sushi. It would save me alot of time and effort. 99.9% of any fish be it sushi or the shit eaters tilapia are frozen very quickly after being caught. I always eat sushi at least once on a ski trip but I would say don't eat it the night before you go to Silverton. Salty any of those are good choice besides the kendo/mantra but check out whatever you like.3 points

Arrived not too long ago. Took just over 4 hours to get here from greek peak. About 4.5 with a few stops. The Wendy's Asiago chicken ranch whatever on a pretzel bun is the fuckin bomb btw. Today was awesome. Greek peak is a freaking treat. I can't believe this was my first time skiing it. Worth 2 hours from the Poconos and will be back.. There's a crap ton of tree skiing and I wasn't expecting the old school vibe. It was busy but never waited more than 2 minutes for a lift. Was really impressed with some of the steeper pitches there. Stoked for the main event tomorrow however. Time to check the weather.3 points

A lot better than the Colorado report that gets one scenery picture every three days.3 points

Thaynes has the best bumps and you can lap them using the lift of the same name. Be sure to huck the cornice atop McConkey's Bowl!3 points

Check out the Jupiter lift on the far right corner of the park city side. Always found fun stuff there3 points

I might sound like a Rossi fanboy, but if they have it and you have an extra selection, I think you would like the Sky 7. Stable underfoot thanks to carbon alloy and really light with a low swing weight which I think suits your current skiing style. 98mm underfoot with carbon for a good base in the chop, and wide enough for an occasional powder ride. If you try them definitely size up because they ski short.2 points

I posted several pictures in the Utah thread, if that's what you mean. I have no idea how my Utah trip discussion got started in a Blue thread but I just started replying to people2 points

Are people talkative on the lifts out there? You probably wouldn't know, since you're staring at your phone.2 points

Did you find any Perder in the woods and did all the coffee make you poop? Vacation constipation is real.2 points

Truth and @eaf here’s a positive spin on this, because of the reservation system, Blue doesn’t close due to rain which means that people who don’t mind skiing in the rain can ski to their hearts content.2 points
