Had another sunny spring day at Wolf Creek today. Things started softening up in the sun at about 10:30 am. I skied some with the family and went for a few nice walks along the ridges by myself too. I made the long hike all the way out to Horseshoe Bowl just to say I did it even though the snow there wasn’t great. The staircase up to the knife ridge was a cool experience. Did another hike/traverse into Montezuma Bowl which had really nice snow surprisingly. I never really thought about it, but the Alberta lift area is basically one huuuge glade and is so much fun to explore. Skied a lot of spring bumps today as well. Tomorrow we’re going to Monarch and looking like maybe a pow day on Friday.12 points

Drive home was smooth. 6 hours from the wf parking lot including 3 stops... roy rogers, gas, black rooster maple syrup in keen valley. 3 great ski days. Greek peak is awesome. I'm sorry it took me this long to get there. I'll be back. WF is always awesome. It sucked not skiing the summit at all but I did get up to lookout mountain and got to spend a lot of time on little wf and even lower mountain which I wouldn't have done as much and found some fun stuff. All in all a great trip.11 points

Spring skiing was in full effect today and we had a great time. Kids did a 3 hour private lesson which was pretty much a mountain tour and they loved it. The instructor let them hike one of the ridges and ski off it and they now think their shit doesn’t stink. I did a few of the main favorites, Alberta face, glory hole, and even did the 25 minute hike to the top of Alberta peak and skied chute 5. Skied a bunch of bumps with my son in the afternoon. All in all it was a great day.9 points

Holding down the fort. Great conditions, smooth with enough loose snow for turning. Stayed later, but the VIP lines moved pretty fast. Paradise was in great shape for the first run, Sidewinder was great also, but they groomed in some small rollers. Challenge looked a little rough, they must have done a fair amount of work on it last night. Waited until 10 to run it to let it warm up. Top slope in the sun was nice, but once you hit the shade it was teeth rattling frozen cord. Run of the day was Razors. Nice at the start and just kept getting better. Never made it over to the west side.8 points

Brighton was grate! Skied all over the mountain, snow was a 12/10 and temperature was perfect. It was so Bright at Brighton I swapped my googles later in the day. After lapping Milly's several times, I spent most of the day on the other lifts as tomorrow I'll park at Millys and spend much of my time there. Overall an amazeballs day, really fun terrain and a swanky hipster vibe. Oh, and the mountain views aren't too bad either6 points

That reminds me of a funny story... I usually pay for most of my friend's meals when I'm out there since he hooks me up with lift tickets, and I can stay for free with him in Steamboat when I go there...we were out at a nicer restaurant/brewery in Silverthorne one night for dinner and the waiter asked about separate checks. I said "nah, we're together" (not really thinking about what I said). The waiter was like "oh uh I'm sorry I didn't want to assume anything" (meaning he thought my buddy was my boyfriend). I made sure to keep it weird and I went as far as to smack my friend's ass when we were leaving while the waiter was watching 🤣5 points

Johnson living up to it's name. Finally a side effect I don't have to go to the ER for if it lasts more then 4 hours.4 points

He said it went grate! Rite Aid has their shit together. In and out in under 15 minutes. Everyone working was upbeat and in a good mood. Couple interesting characters hanging out like someone was going to drop a needle out of their back pocket though. Sounds like an episode of Chappelle.4 points

Following this thread. Looking to buy another pass next year in addition to Blue if it makes sense.4 points

I rode from 12 to 230, mixed snow, it seemed maybe they blew in spots as certain trails were super super slow snow but others were harder and faster and it wasn't sun based. Everything was super soft in the afternoon sun and you could just plow through at full speed all over the place. Even Challenge below the skeet shot was superb, full grip fast snow. Razors was super fast but the roll out snow was hyper slow so it was like deploying the drag chute and mad people ate shit. Only one bigger roller on side at the bottom right before it meets the crossover about 2/3 across. Basically the sweet spot to make the turn onto falls. It's maybe a foot high ramp, super fun but bad spot considering how the Jerry's ski there. Definitely bigger crowds today but almost no wait so a mighty fine day for sure.3 points

Went up the quad first thing, there was a line of 3 or 4 people for the VIP gate, so I went to another gate that was open. When the VIP gate opened up, it must have been a good minute before any of the other gates open. Reminded me of bull riding at the rodeo, waiting for the gate to open.3 points

what are these rollers on sidewinder??? i didn't notice them. first chair quad got to razors before first chair on sixer could. razors was ROTD, few cookies laying on top of well groomed snow but easy to avoid. challenge was fuckin laughable, i didn't even bother. 3rd run - upper main was a beautiful, soft carpet, lower was polar opposite, not too bad though. switch was surprisingly good. might be there tomorrow3 points

Another radically fun day at Brighton. Skied groomers all morning which were pristine and enjoyable. Then went off the cat tracks a bit here and there to enjoy the soft ungroomed snow. Today was a 12/10 Going to do some touristy things this afternoon- maybe find out where the bathhouses are for Mormon soakings.3 points

Parked about 20 steps to the Milly Lift. Reserved my spot by putting my RTMs in front of the gate and now sitting in the rental car. This is grate! I don't even need to stand there for 40 minutes and I'm still guaranteed first civilian chair3 points

Boner city on your kids skiing that stuff! They may think their shit don't stink, but if they are your offspring it is guaranteed that they can clear a room.3 points

ORDA posted their price for Belleayre / Gore / Whiteface today $809 is the adult early purchase price for a full pass to all three with no black out dates. Allows skiing starting 3/17. Other pricing available here: https://www.belleayre.com/tickets/season-passes/ Seriously considering this option. The other passes that will be interesting for me to compare pricing on are Epic, Ikon and Indy2 points

Wifi is off at the hotel for some stupid reason so I'm browsing text only. I can't currently quote anyone or use a confused face. Tonight was rad, I went to the Salty lake and walked around downtown and saw all the Mormon buildings. Looking forward to watching the South Park episode on Mormons again. I'll post pics etc. when I get Wifi access again. Off to Snowbasin tomorrow morning. JADIP LFG2 points

Wrong. J&J was tested under “real world conditions” aka plenty of mutations/large cohort in South Africa etc. as opposed to much earlier in the pandemic (remember Pfizer was approved in nov with database lock well before fall/winter spike). When all is said and done all three vaccines should be pretty similar. Anyone who wants a vaccine but is holding out for the original two is an idiot2 points

Tomorrow after Snowbasin. Good memory. Feels like summer here - 64 and sunny. Had to stop at Target to buy a t shirt since I didnt think to pack any2 points

Conditions were varying today. Rollers on Sidewinder were quite surprising, luckily it was sunny. Challenge absolutely sucked, it's like they meant to prepare it for luge competition. Razor was the very opposite of it. Paradise was kinda crowded and full of red jackets, once I saw how they were taking skis off of someone who I guess came down closed Coming Soon. Switchback and Lazy had decent snow, but Lazy had a few annoying slow spots right after the turn, which were getting worse and worse as the day progressed. More cars than I was hoping for at the opening, but lines were never a problem until noon when I had to leave anyway. So yeah, good day today.2 points

Mountain Creek is offering 2021/22 season passes for $279. Unfortunately on closer inspection it seems this is an amount they expect you to pay them for being stuck skiing there all year. If it were the other way around it would almost be a good deal for folks in NYC or the top third of NJ2 points

Me too. For what paid on lift tickets this year I'd almost certainly be better off getting a pass. I'm generally happy skiing anywhere outside of PA so dont care if I'm limited to certain mountains like on the Epic pass2 points

Shop may charge more but if you buy from them will probably not charge for mounting. just an FYI and something to consider.2 points
-
a lot of shops will match prices advertised elsewhere. You're not taking bindings into account though, so there's another $150-200 depending on what you put on them. Don't just go for the cheapest thing you can find and do not get a tyrolia SL/SLR/SX binding just because they're cheap.2 points

Nah..it just means I had my kid with me. I was a bit annoyed on Monday though...tried to order from smoke signals online..didnt work. So I figured we'd drive over, walk in and order. Door was locked but they were open. So I called and they put me on hold for 10 minutes said f it..let's just go to the Mexican joint. Mexican joint is closed on Monday and Tuesday so ended up getting pizza. Cool thing though is that it was dumping in townand people were just out and about. Having a great time in the snow. Shops were open....just a really cool ski town vibe.2 points

Great report and sounds like an awesome trip. The only thing I would've done differently was seek out some breweries, but I guess that just means I'm kind of a drunk2 points
