Made it! The MAX 9 crushed it to Denver with a tail wind and landed 55 minutes early. Too bad our gate wasn’t open for another 60 so we sat. 30 minute flight to GUC and my dirty Blue BMW Uber was already waiting when we landed. Had to give him an extra tip because baggage took a while. Checked out @Barb’s awesome place quick and then caught the bus to the mountain. Got the tour from @AtomicSkierand skied some nice spring snow. It was quite warm and locals have some fun outfits going on. I need to learn the trail map a bit more but we were front, side, and back of Mount CB from what I could tell. The Truly’s made it safe in the ski bag and are very refreshing after an afternoon of skiing. Hopefully hitting a dispensary and some take out dinner tonight. (Current song from @AtomicSkier’s playlist is Miley Cirus “can’t stop” and I’m alright with it)11 points

On my first leg PHL to DEN to see @AtomicSkier (and maybe @Barb?🤞🏻) Beat the GPS ETA by 6 minutes so I’m off to a good start. Even without cars I still think 76 sucks to drive, though boaters row looked nice in the dark. Used Preflight parking thanks to @trackbiker’s suggestion. The shuttle was at my car unprompted before I turned the car off. My favorite part was the painters tape they used in the lights to set the mood. Right through security and checked out the 737 MAX 9 waiting at my gate (@saltyant you see this!) Currently at Chickie’s and Pete’s for breakfast with a Conshocken Type A.11 points

Hey all, I’m back from another fun day at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived in the lower lot at like 7:10am and Johnny Law was already in the house. Also in the house were Mixilplix, JFDan, BenM, Schifdawg, Nastar glenn, Nancy, Wally, Charles, Bethlehem Ford Guy, Enjorales, Pops, Gary, Gary, GahSkier george, Indiggio, Drew, Chuong, Matt Edge, Zach, Tyrone and many more. Temperatures began in the mid 20s and warmed up through the 30s with the bright early March sunshine. First run on challenge was not that good with some divots and frozen cord but from there on every run was decent except lower Main Street. Switchback was a nice cool shady retreat, sidewinder was busy but good snow and the root roller before crossover kept people on their toes..the falls was epic bad and I got enough air to clear a credit card twice..bad Steezy I felt like R Kelly..I believe I can fly. I even got on paradise which had nice snow and lots of people with jackets unzipped and ended with midway to little gap to lower Burma which was chaotic and lines were longish at the doubles so into the lot for long enough to maybe get some color..err red. Was fun drinking some beers and seeing PASRs dog mascot Wally. Also some paragliders doing their thing. For sure this weekend was the busiest March weekend I can remember going back to the blizzard of 96. Crowds were exactly the same as two weeks ago. I should be back tomorrow AM for opening JADIP5 points

My bro in law got the Johnson and Johnson vaccine yesterday and was sick today. My parents are coming up to allentown late next month for the first time in 13 months and staying at my aunt and uncles house. We’re all going to the Apollo grill and I think I’m gonna visit them Memorial Day weekend. What a fucking year but finally some hope.3 points

Glad they're finally getting it together. I swore I wouldn't get an epic pass... but I might reconsider if things improve next year. If they pave the parking lots though I'm out.2 points

I get crap at friends houses for not using coasters. If you want any granite coasters Barb, I’ve got you.2 points

No I didn't say anything. I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of knowing that he was riding the lift with a Pennsylvania ski legend.2 points

No he didn't ask. He saw me let the people in front of me go to. He must've thought I wanted the privilege of riding with him2 points

I use GPS to drive almost anywhere of decent length. Waze is good about telling me where the cops are.2 points

Today's snow was excellent. I haven't encountered any ice, it was very edgeable, and overall skiing was mostly smooth and fast except for Lazy where it was on the contrary slow and well lazy. Best trails for me were Paradise and Switchback, especially after sun hit it and where I stayed after the crowds went insane, management had their breakfast and finally opened Burma lift. Speaking of finally, I don't freaking get it! It's 10am, great day, already crowded and clearly gonna be crowded even more, and they're running only one slow lift. On top of it when somebody complained, the response from the liftie was: "well, go ahead and fill out job application". Just WTF? Props to the BMR team. They at least know how to ride lifts. Today was a race day, kids labeled Jack Frost, etc showed up, some riding quad like Jerries, two at a time. Come on! You have your own express line, show some respect.2 points

Haha Same. The only reason I (now) know it was her was because somebody said “hey cecily how was elevator.” So out of curiosity I checked her IG when I saw this thread and she posted about doing Elevator today. Our tips touched waiting in line ZOMG.1 point

I ran into that a few times up there. Personally, I don’t care, but the one time this guy just hopped on and waited until about the 3rd tower of the quad to ask if I minded that he rides with me. I always try to ask other people if they mind. If they say they do, oh well their choice.1 point

Yes that is a coaster on the other side of the table. Haha. looks like a ring next to the can. I will just say that wasn’t there when I left boys. Kudos for skiing the same day you traveled!1 point

The airport terminal is brand new. It opened really recent. A bunch of news station were reporting how they’re still working out the kinks and issues but they mostly reported on the disgruntled flyers.1 point

Whelp, I arrived in the lot today.. only to realize I left my goggles at home and I hate riding without goggles. Since, I refused to buy a new pair in the lodge, there was no better time to teach/force myself to ride switch (goofy for me). I've been riding too long and too much to suck so bad at switch. This year was the first year I really tried, but my switch runs would not last long as I would always just prefer to just cruise normal and enjoy myself... In the end, today I made two full runs down vistas and Burma after messing around on vistas. By no means was it pretty... But it was a start.1 point

Damn. I'm assuming you are okay if you are posting on PASR. We need to close off our row like a ticketed event.1 point

That new stone is luxurious though. If I was sipping a cocktail I could have mistaken it for the deck at the St. regis.1 point

Today was our last day at Wolf Creek on this trip. It snowed 11” yesterday and there was plenty of untracked to be found in the trees just a short traverse off the Alberta lift. Also the ridges were nice and smooth with wind blown powder on all the aprons. I’ve been having fun on the ridges which are an easy skate traverse from the treasure lift and jumping off of some small cornices. Mostly skied the fresh powder in the trees today and was finding shin to knee deep powder even until lunchtime. Skied with the fam after lunch and drove back to Albuquerque. So glad we experienced a low key area with great snow and terrain. No crowds anywhere all week either. pics from today1 point

Once the frozen cord warmed up a little, conditions were perfect for my RTMs all over the mountain. Put in an extra 5 runs this morning.1 point

This is a ridiculous trip report so I’m going to bury it in the skison thread. Went for an urban ski adventure in bala cynwyd last night with Mike and Wally. I was trying to ski near my old place in Belmont Village because of the slope. It’s about 200 vertical feet over 1/2 mile. Thought it would be fun to do some laps with @Schif. But, everything was plowed. so, we went to the cynwyd trail instead. we’ve ran the cynwyd trail a hand full of times and it always felt like a steeper slope. Like 30ish minutes of shuffling through the snow, we made it to the car 😂 probably like 100 vertical feet over 1.2 miles. we weren’t the only ones who attempted this, which makes the sub par decision feel a little less ridiculous. There were 2 other tracks from alpine skis. 1/2 way through, I texted a friend and requested a heli assist. Send the choppa plz. Here’s Schif and Wally towards the end. Got to the car at CVS on rock hill road. Turns out it’s hard making turns in Philly 😂🤦🏼♀️ I’m no longer in park city and telluride, I suppose...1 point
