Got here last night, skiing DV as I can wake up at 830 and make first chair at 9. Warm, currently working overtime on my Goggle tan. Groomers were firm and smooth first thing and now turning to a delicious slush. Off trail was brutal boilerplate but maybe late afternoon I'll see if it's soft. Empty run after run and oysters at the top, fine living for a Monday.10 points

I took another pair out of the press Saturday morning, and finished them up Saturday afternoon, they are getting a tune now. I’ll have the new pair at Blue on Saturday, this will be S2P2. Yes, they do have a picture of my son shirtless on the tip, there may also be a Waldo hidden in there somewhere and perhaps a rocket if you look hard enough. In other news, I remounted S2P1 (the last pair) with a pair of Look px’s. If I did my math correctly, they should be adjustable from a ~25.5 to ~28.5 boot size, they will be available for anyone that wants to take a few runs on them, just find me. Caught an injured hawk today. Thinking it got blown into something during the recent wind event. Came back with my trout net and cat carrier and caught it. Bought it to the Raptor Trust. They ID’ed it as a sharpshinned hawk. Relatively rare in our area. They gave me contact info and said to check back in 48 hrs to see how it’s doing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk7 points

I don’t think it’s anything in the house. They had a ladder leaning against the first set of wheels outside the house in the return side, one guy on the catwalk leaning over working on it and a second guy going up and down the ladder helping. Probably a wheel bearing in that set. At least it’s on the return side so the new bearing grease won’t ruin @toast21602’s jacket.5 points

Fought through the doubles crowd all day, which as reported, would be long/short depending upon if the lifties decided to work or not. Regardless, once the temps came up and the sun had time to do its job, the snow and bumps turned hero and made for a grate afternoon of skiing. Ended up riding the triple twice to get out of the valley which was proven to be faster than waiting in the quad line. Word is that a bearing is shot in the six and as usual need a part sent in. Also heard that Ski-Doo bought Blue!3 points

Hey All, I’m back from another fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 720am and it was in the mid 30s. In the house were Toast, NMSki, Matt Edge, enjorales, tele Matt, Atomic Jeff, BenM, JFDan, Salty, Mixilplix, Mute, Ryan, Boo Bear, Justo, Rose, Bethlehem Ford Guy, TP4, Schif, Nancy and many others. First two runs on challenge were very nice followed by three runs on Main Street which was super smooth and filled with cord, Sidewinder was sugar and chop as was Paradise. Close to 9am the six pack was down which lmade for a long quad line. I did Widowmaker off the Main Street chair and it was pretty good midway and Main Street not as nice. Quad was still down and like a ten minute wait and ended up being down the entire morning. Hungout in the lot for a little while Toast, Atomic Jeff and salty went bike riding. I party rocked last night combined with the time change I didn’t sleep much so was tired and happy to be back ready for a nap. JADIP2 points

I skied from about 945-630. What a fun, fun, fun day!! Lots of ski ladies in the house, marvelous tailgate, then back out. Snow was absolutely perfect, even Burma. And no crowds.2 points

I haven’t been out past 6pm at night in over a year, And likely don’t plan to, but it will be nice to be able to sit at a bar for happy hour and get some food and a drink rather than wasting a servers time on 1 solo person at a table.2 points

I’m hoping to be there about 6 with my 7 year old, take a lap past us on Paradise and say hey. 😂 *if he finishes all his school work during the day2 points

I was just wondering if he lost a lot of brain cells considering he said "nothing beats Blue" after being in Colorado for a month2 points

they just started assessing when we got on the six. climbed up the first pole so i'm not sure if it has anything to do with what's inside the big structure. maybe they can rip a wheel off the burma lift. not like it runs that much anyway.2 points

Around 11am, we were hanging out in the lot and @enjoralasspoted this gem. The dude was carrying the boots that were attached to skis. 😂 of course, @Mixilplixis wallys favorite fun uncle. And as we stood there longer and longer, there was a doppelgänger group in the adjacent lot. There was a girl with the same jacket as a me. A guy was the JLaw steeze, and a guy who had the posture and hat of Atomic. From the tailgate of the pickup, they were grilling up some meats.2 points

Very nice. Back in the day they sometimes didn’t even operate weekdays or would close at 7pm this time of the year. Now they are moving full steam ahead with no closing day in sight. I really think they’ll go until at least 4/11 which is what boomers call to find somebodies phone number lol1 point

See you there. Excited to see you ski under the lights. Dark Switchback is a must!1 point

I wouldn’t mind the 28th and the extra week to prepare, but could probably throw something together if consensus is this Sunday.1 point

I don’t think night skiing lines will be bad this week. I didn’t realize how bad lines got yesterday after I stopped skiing although I was in a bit of a haze. I maybe lost one run yesterday from 8-9401 point

I learned to ski at Belle Mt. in Lambertville in the mid/late 70's. They kept skiers from sliding into the street with haybale walls, every once in a while someone would ski into one. Those walls stopped a lot of runaway skis from going into the street. I remember many winter nights sitting in a car in the parking lot across the street with friends, partying and watching for wipeouts. Another lost ski area was on route 611 in Pipersville pa. at the intersection of route 413 and route 611. I remember it being called the Pipersville Chalet. The ski area closed long ago, but the lodge is still an operating bar/restaurant.1 point
