  1. Honestly it was a good season, granted it's not over but all things considered it was a question mark coming in. Rumors were swirling about night skiing etc yet blue put forth a solid season, complete with powder days, open every day... Sunrise to sunset, decent conditions for the most part, fresh gravel and the premier of coming soon. Honestly what else can you ask for. Nice job blue.

  2. They have the Sixer listed as open on the conditions report

  3. Very very wet. I brought a change of pants, socks, and shirt, but no boxer shorts, so my underwear was soaked on the way home. I had my shortest day of the year at 10 runs, saw like 3 other people the whole time. Glad I went, had fun...but visibility was a bit tough

  4. I’ll also bring my OBD2 scanner so salty can finally figure out what’s wrong with his car. And anyone else who has a CEL and wants it to go bye bye

  5. I think the rain today is going to deter people from skiing this weekend.

  6. Hopefully people stop buying epic passes and the message is received. Wasn’t it a few years ago killington got new owners and stopped doing the late season and there was a huge backlash? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. This is what happens when a mountain gets bought out. #thanksskidoo

  8. Rumors are just that, but the only reason they have to be open on the 3rd, is really just so they can post "skiing in April!!!" on FB. This weekends crowds will most likely reveal the closing date pretty clearly.

  9. Remember folks this is all rumors and speculation at this point. Blue hasn’t announced anything.

  10. Ski resorts usually run out of paying customers before they run out of snow.

  12. Most of my friends who were on peak passes, got epic’d this year, and will either be going with an Indy pass, blue or montage, or nothing. The amount of people that don’t buy them again probably won’t hurt vail, but there is a ton of online buzz amongst skiers and riders that shows a movement toward ikon or independent areas. I know it’s anecdotal, but in the words of our supreme leader, it is what it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. That’s better than thousands of season passholders and a thousand or so ticket buyers

  14. Have fun...after the rain we should still have a solid week or three left.

  16. @theprogram4 I just saw this on Blue's facebook page. Looks like you are good to go?

  17. Actually, after I drip the wax on and iron it in for 5 minutes or so, I use about 4 foot of fiberlene between the iron and the ski to adsorb the excess wax, pulling fresh paper under the iron as I go down the length of the ski. Leaves very little to be scraped and is less messy. Usually I skip scraping and just roto brush it if is not spring skiing. Thought about building a hotbox, but never got around to it.

  18. Machine wax is all but gone in a day, especially with abrasive spring snow. The machine is great for scraping/burnishing in the wax, but not really for actually applying it. I get varying degrees of nerdy with it depending on the skis, snow, and how many beers I feel like drinking in the process. Everything will be getting a coat of swix CH10 before this weekend. Don’t really have a good wax setup at my house yet so it’ll probably be the quick and dirty crayon method then iron and scrape out in the back yard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. Couldn’t have said it better myself..you can call me Bob Dylan cause I’m tangled up in Blue...like the Romantics song,”what I like about blue” and for the young peeps a little Robin Thicke,”I’m lost without Blue”..Blue my mind..

  23. Sweet but I’m not rooming with you boys..we can stay in one of those pod hotels and have our own digs. Japan is famous for its bath houses so we can all soak together after an exhilarating day on the slopes. I think I’m turning Japanese I think I’m turning Japanese I really think so.

  24. And maybe if I get the Epic pass it'll have a buddy pass and we can go to Hakuba Iwatake, Jiigatake, and Kashimayari in Japan with Matt Edge. I wonder if Matt Edge speaks Japanese??

  25. Blue has only stayed open into April a handful of times and sometimes just for a weekend or two. Never say never..Maybe they’ll open for a bonus day April 3rd..bonus days/weekends have happened before.

  26. I bet camelback will be open after Blue closes..maybe even Montage..then can go to NY, VT, CO or Utah..March being more lamb than lion isn’t helping.

  27. Yes, I was there a few times past October and November. First time we did it on the same equipment that we use on BM, but then quickly scaled back to something that would allow making more turns over that rather short slope.

  28. Oh, he'll definitely live. All I'm saying is that his prior RTMs or something even shorter and narrower would be more enjoyable there than Ripsticks.

  31. I apply paste glide wax....use a heat gun and rub it in as it melts....let it cool...buff it with a rag.....let the snow do the rest..

  34. I'm leaning towards Epic for the 1st time though also considering going to Jackson Hole with @GrilledSteezeSandwich so I don't know. We'll see what Epic says on Mar. 23. BB closing earlier than in the past is not a factor in my decision

  35. I figure there was not much point BB playing its very limited early & late season game with Big Snow in town 365 days a year offering indoor version of Freedom. At least they are open later than they were last year Really there is no competition for Epic for folks who want a pass that covers both unlimited PA skiing and unlimited great skiing.

  36. But this year they would have to refund all the reserved tickets.

  44. Right now, nothing is busy.. 10am and the parking lot is only 2/3 full, stark contrast from Friday and Monday. Heading over to Crest now,, got four runs in off Milly and my thighs are screaming

  45. I will just say.. Milly looks much nicer with 4 inches of fresh snow and with no lift lines yet. .. and fun fact; just saw the guy from Bored Progression YouTube filming a video. Nice!

  46. Got here last night, skiing DV as I can wake up at 830 and make first chair at 9. Warm, currently working overtime on my Goggle tan. Groomers were firm and smooth first thing and now turning to a delicious slush. Off trail was brutal boilerplate but maybe late afternoon I'll see if it's soft. Empty run after run and oysters at the top, fine living for a Monday.
