A lot of people only ski 1-2 times per year/every few years, throw in a bunch of kids learning, and when you offer $35 ticket/rental/lesson its a good portion of the people there. Tried to go down to lower mountain on a rented snowboard there which was a bad idea lol that last drop is steeper than it looks and thanks for the welcome! I have been lurking here for a while, decided I should make an account.5 points

Looks like its live. https://www.epicpass.com/passes/epic-pass.aspx 20% off. So with a Blue Pass increase, and an Epic pass discounted, its sort of a wash. I will probably, definitely, most likely, maybe buy the Epic Local, since i plan on another trip to Crested, which probably would cover my days there for $67 per day, or somewhere around $.87 per run, depending of course if its just lapping groomed trails, or doing some other stuff up top. Leaves me plenty of money for Cocoa and maybe even a soft pretzel. looks like i can get some cheap airfare if i dont mind flying BWI-MIA-PHL-DEN-DFW-GUN. let me know if anyone wants me to book them some airfare.4 points

Got my 2nd Fauci Ouchie yesterday. In and out under 10 minutes. I was impressed with how Rite Aid handled the process. Hardest part was getting a time but after that they send text reminders, appointments were quick, and people were friendly(at least at the Brodheadsville one).3 points

My golf buddies hate me for that exact reason. “I got a 4 on that hole” “it took you 3 shots to get out of the bunker”3 points

This is accurate. Only rink I’ve had a guy try to fight, take off his helmet, get his ass beat, then try to press charges afterwards2 points

FWIW anecdotally, people have been having more of an immune response to Moderna than Pfizer and less of a reaction the older you get. Of course everyone is different, but this is what I've seen.2 points

There is nothing I could care less about in the grand scheme of the skiing world than a combo pass with camelback. I mean... I wouldn't say @indiggio made it up. I've heard similar things from at least three other completely unrelated sources at this point. Something's going on, and it sounds like pretty much the worst/most useless outcome for those of us who don't give a crap about a hotel or improved lodge. Hopefully whatever's going down at least comes with a terrain expansion to spread out all the new season pass holders.2 points

Camelback's owners also own Blue now, right? Maybe they can do a Blue/Camel multi pass for ya'll.2 points

Witnessing traumatic events, especially if it’s your first time, can fog people’s memories as well. I’ve dealt with a handful of fatal accidents where a witness can’t seem to remember which car caused the accident but they can describe injuries (to an extent) and whether or not the person was wearing a seatbelt2 points

FYI - the epic local and northeast pass include Stowe, for those thinking of going in on the group home in VT next year.2 points

Excited to get Epic next year. Disappointed that Blue didn't make the cut. It looks like Camelback is on with lift access to the Sullivan only.2 points

Would need some sort of trail like lower sidewinder that has multiple switchbacks to mellow it out. I miss Montage. I was hoping to get up there on a Tuesday in February but it kept snowing and Blue was so damn good.2 points

Back in the day at Montage they had huge orange banners up on poles that stretched the whole width of the trail, probably 20 feet in the air that said something along the lines of "Expert terrain only beyond this point" to try and turn people before they went down lower runaway and lower fast track. It would take a herculean effort to cut a blue trail down to the bottom of Montage, the mountain just naturally takes a nosedive down there and there are some major rock formations and cliffs off to the far skiers right that would make it very tough to add a mellow trail out there. I love Montage but at the end of the day it's 4 little mountains all tied together since each lift skis like its own little pod. Welcome @abe!2 points

all of the different types of passes confuse me, but correct me if i'm wrong -- a season pass to jack frost / bb would be $479 with the add'l perks of unlimited visits to 14 add'l mountains, 4 with blackout dates and 10 days at stowe. is that right?2 points

If that rendering is any indication they are about 74 years from this actually becoming a reality.2 points

I would assume so. And after everything he went through he would definitely benefit from that protection.1 point

Nothing. You can fly to Vancouver and then rent a car, ride a bus, or take a train ~2 hours to Whistler. Same for the return home.1 point

Epic Local for us. At that rate it is worth sticking with them and keeping some PA options No way it is worth it to save a little $ on getting Epic NE, as I would spend way more than the difference skiing the blacked out holiday days, let alone losing coverage for a CO trip.1 point

Hey All, I’m back from another fun session at Blue mountain. Today was essentially a repeat of yesterday except no C1er but BenM was in the House. Snow was fast and pretty smooth. I skied Razors the most along with challenge, sidewinder and a final run on lower windowmaker to midway to little gap to Burma with no people and fast snow. Now off to sell a tombstone..business is insane right now..I think this will be a cash order so $$$ for my Colorado trip. JADIP1 point

They definitely seem to be doing something right. I haven't heard bankruptcy talk or anything about this place since the new ownership took over years ago after the Snö debacle.1 point

I think its interesting that they divulged the 1.4 million number. That's a lot of passes. more than the entire population of 11 states.1 point
-
For shits and giggles let's say Vail averaged $750 per pass last season x 1.4 million passes sold is over a billion dollars. - $1,050,000,000. Holy shit!1 point

I've seen some comments like "stay safe out there". Like what? How am I supposed to "stay safe" on a chairlift except by not riding said chairlift?1 point

Early reports suggest Vail will announce tomorrow that all passes for next year will be 20% cheaper than this year.1 point

true. but approaching the ledge and not being able to see any of the terrain ahead of it is probably a good indicator to a lot of people.1 point
