I apologize in advance for formatting and grammar issues as I cannot get the website to upload photos, so I’m using the app on my phone instead. By looking at the weather forecast, it was pretty clear that the season is coming to a quick end in our area. My indy pass didn't get much use, and I really wanted to check out another mountain I normally wouldn't go to. The original plan was to go on Thursday to magic mountain in Vermont instead, but they moved to weekends only and I'm glad I didn't wait. Berkshire east looked cool, and there's dispensaries nearby, so why not. I left at 430 and made the 4 hour and 30 min drive with ease. no traffic, nothing. The weather got warm and it ended up being a great day. I had never been to the Berkshires before and the area is really cool. Small mountains, but has a way different vibe than the Poconos. After driving along a crystal clear river, I saw some ski trails. The mountain reminds me of plattekill in the sense that there isn't really any runout. There are 4-5 fall line trails that cut straight down the mountain with good pitch. There are a ton of glades and smaller trails that are obscured by the trees. This place is classic New England. there is really only one trail I would consider wide. the lodge and outdoor area was pretty cool. They had one lift running which was their carpet loading quad. Since the mountain is pretty steep, lift rides were never long. I started with the runs of to the left and right side of the hill. There are two really long trails that meander around the back of the mountain and around. Really fun long cruisers. The conditions were soft spring snow, or pure ice. The ice was easy to just ride around. The fall line trails down the front rode like plattekills as well. Just straight down, and not too wide. After reflecting on my day, I realized my favorite days on snow are at ski areas like this. I definitely have a type. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk5 points

I didn’t see the driver, but I could only assume they were wearing that shirt, or a tap out shirt considering they had a “my other ride is your wife” bumper sticker5 points

I've heard rumors of opening vaccines up to everyone in 1a, b, c by the end of April and then everyone else May 1st. Not sure of the accuracy of that... just hospital rumors...2 points

If anybody is going to park on a snowbank you better believe they are driving a jeep and wearing a punisher skull shirt.2 points

Be there Saturday. Waiting to hear if they are going to schedule winter adventure camp for the boy Saturday. I’m planning to cook up something simple like burgers Saturday.2 points

Shawnee was a great place to get kids up to speed on skiing. Skied there countless times when kids were in 2nd and 3rd grades as they had a "kids under 42" ski free" special. But other than skiing the trees when there is enough natural snow (pretty rare) there is nothing there that really interests me as an adult skier. If I were lookng to get an affordable PA only pass I would go for Montage - which is $399 if purchased by Sunday. Best expert terrain in NEPA with possible exception of Elk and almost never a line.2 points

Very unfortunate. I will say that Montage really killed it in the photography department this year. Whoever is out there playing with cameras and/or drones has really knocked it out of the park and made the place look amazing.2 points

Hey All, I just booked my airfare for my Colorado skifari in three weeks. Airfare has actually got up a little on southwest but I had some credit to apply to this and with early bird check in my out of pocket is $99 roundtrip for direct flights from Philly to Denver. Just have to book rental car and hotel now. I’m psyched to finally go somewhere after 14 months of being in PA...I’ll use this thread to post updates of my trip and as many of you know from my past Colorado skifaris...it dumps when I’m out there...1 point

The fact that the six pack is currently running is a good sign. It’s incredibly rare.1 point

I counted it - but doubt I will go back. Only real plus I can say is it was good to find out my daughter needed larger seasonal rental boots before we were somewhere further.1 point

If I ski tomorrow it'll be with my 11 year old. Grabbed a pass for Belle next week then I guess calling it a season....a very good one at that.1 point

I guess i will renew my pass on Sunday, just to ensure it works for tomorrow, and then deal with it opening day not working.1 point

Saw that coming. After today and tomorrow's weather it might be tough for them to manage with another warm day of rain. Saturday should be beautiful. Looking forward to it!1 point

Tonight was fun. There was an even more rare than Haley's comet sighting at Blue this evening... a toast night sesh. Challenge probably had the best coverage which was surprising. The amount of snow lost this week is crazy. You could actually see clouds of snow evaporation in certain areas. Spring conditions but not sloppy surprisingly...could get speed but had to check it at times to avoid bare spots. All in all fun night.1 point

Thinking I might go to Camelback tomorrow night given better base condition and, surprisingly, better night rate than Blue I will try my hardest to avoid the parking scam and to not let my chair fall off the cable1 point

Went up today for an afternoon session, pretty sure Atomic and Mute were there too but never could find them. Brown town for sure but really coverage is pretty good. Icy granular soft stuff, good bad snow and it was t-shirt weather. Sad to see the number of days left shrinking.1 point

I browse listings on Zillow for kicks. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/220-E-12th-St-Silverton-CO-81433/249004128_zpid/?utm_campaign=iosappmessage&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=txtshare this one is in silverton CO. Looks like a saloon. And besides a badass mountain, there’s also a train out your door. choo choo.1 point
