I'm heading to Boston for work this week, so I decided on small detour. I just didn't feel like hitting up the Catskills so I decided to try out Stratton. There is not a lot open, but I've mostly been lapping Polar Bear and Black Bear. For the most part the coverage is pretty good on what is open, but it is starting to scrap off to the glaciers. To sum up... overall It is like riding Elk, but with a longer drive.

Oh, and @GSSucks had easter eggs for everyone ... blind drawing, and i got the 24oz bud heavy. 😔 I think it was my first Bud Heavy ... ever. And of course it was a 24ozer.

Yesterday was a blast. @toast21602 @mute1080 and I left my house promptly at 4:40am planning an arrival just shy of 7:30am. Two pee stops on the way, and he arrived at 7:27am, right on schedule. Quick boot up, we hit the snow at 7:45am and toured up to the top with @Justo8484 and @GSSucks. Despite being 20F when we arrived, we were all sweating our asses off after the first 1/4 mile. We all met up at the top, had a celebratory beer/truly, and enjoyed a well deserved run down before heading back to the car for several beers before venturing out for the ski day. A bunch of bump runs, and it was time to enjoy some more beers, some food, and return for some mono ski and KoreyKustom laps. So good out that there were Trulys just flying in the area.

I never waited more than one gondola today and I got it to myself each time! I would love to get back next year with more terrain available... And especially since I'm likely getting an Ikon pass.. it should happen. I just need to plan a work trip toy Boston site next winter and have another detour.

Webcams and reports look a little rough, gonna do another day at Gore

Been about 3 years since I have climbed outside. Made it to the top of a 100’ pitch, traversed and was psyching myself up to do another pitch. The longer we were on the ledge sorting out the ropes the more I lost my nerve. But was pleased with my progress, have only made it up that high once before. traverse across. Hike out 78 degrees today! No shade where we were so I am sure I got fried

It was kind of tongue in cheek,, but truly the terrain is similar. Nothing is all that steep but not a lot of runout either.

They connect... with the help of duct tape the bigger issue is the one joist thats basically boxed 2x4, with no Jack pole, and not anchored into anything except where’s it’s wedged into the wall that’s sagging 2” or so below the floor providing no support whatsoever.

Why the fuck do people care about views and likes on a ski forum?

1. I'm not two weeks out from my 2nd shot, so I would not consider myself to be fully vaccinated yet. 2. I don't live alone. I'm the only one in my household who's had their second shot. I'm not sure trials have even begun for safety/effectiveness on children under 12, so we're a long way out until everyone is fully vaccinated here. I still need to be more careful because of that. Late summer once there's more broad vaccination across the whole US population, yeah I'd consider flying somewhere and then getting tested to make sure I'm not gonna give something to the kid when I get home if there's not conclusive evidence that vaccination prevents transmission. Luckily we had a good ski season in PA this year so I don't feel like I missed too much by not getting out of the mid atlantic. Hopefully things start to chill out soon and we can all go back to having a regular ski season by next year and taking lots of trips and sharing lots of photos, videos, and stoke.
