  1. I enjoy industrial history stuff and my dad worked for Bethlehem Steel and was an electrician that rebuilt the Steel's engines. This was an article that just came out in the local paper. I wanted to post it but forgot, so thanks for the reminder. Can't wait to drive this thing sometime this summer 👌

  3. I just booked a trip to Lech in the Arlberg region of Austria. We picked Lech because of its central location and quieter atmosphere. As it turned out, prices were comparable to St. Anton. Will post a trip report when we go. In the meantime, I'm looking for any tidbit of info from anyone who has been.

  4. Yeah, I was there once: https://www.paskiandride.com/forums/topic/19428-ski-arlberg Flew to Zurich, stayed in Warth at Airbnb about 20 mins away from the lifts. Haus Huber was like $800 for 7 nights, 2BR apartment. Warth was really quiet, but also on the outskirts, so I think while we initially planned to ski all the way to St. Anton, we realized that it was a little too far and it would really be just get-there-and-start-going-back-right-away kind of a day. We did ski their White Ring route and crossed through Lech a number of times. Liked the atmosphere there, but it was certainly not as quiet as Warth. Aside from skiing, spent half a day at St. Gallen on the way there, did a day trip to Neuschwanstein in the middle of the week and out of nowhere hit a festival in Bezau while going back to the airport. Do people think it's safe to book skiing trips abroad already? Dolomites didn't open even for one day last winter.

  5. Ironic. Just yesterday a really old picture of the Golden Gate Bridge popped up on my IG feed and I noticed it was stamped “Bethlehem Steel”. Naturally I looked into it and found out that it was indeed built with Bethlehem Steel, which I found interested because of the distance separating the two. I thought about posting it here but figured nobody would’ve cared or already knew. Haha.

  6. Proposed to my wife at that spot. Built with Bethlehem Steel. SF is a fun city and there is great hiking in the Golden Gate national recreation area. Have fun!

  7. I'm thrilled you posted this trip report, it's been very helpful. Athough one might thinking skiing at Whitefish might have me prepared for fog, I know the resort and we do have trees, so I'm hoping for less snowy days than you had. My daughter and I are booked for March 2022 in Lech. I plan to stay on piste and at this point I'm planning to pack my old skis which are K2 AMP Rictor 82xti's with an 82mm waist. I have newer replacement I'm also considering, but they are stiffer and make me have to be on them more aggressively. I'll decide right before we go, I guess. My daughter's sole skinny skis are her OLD race skis. Hopefully she buys herself a new pair by then as she really doesn't enjoy her normal skis on groomers. (I have the same skis almost as my powder skis and agree with her.) So I found the discussion about what people were on to be helpful. She also wants to go touring and off piste, so she has a big dilemma. I don't want to derail your thread about my trip, so will start a new thread.

  8. Finally have a shed and put a coat of stain on the kids playhouse/swingset. I was going to post this in the weather thread with the rest of the deck/yard pics but I didn't want to further derail the thread unlike some of you hooligans 🚂🤘

  9. Oh Lordy...I also have a friend who still wears masks at Target and Wegmans because she doesn’t want people to think she’s a Trumper but is cool with being maskless at a crowded bar. Oh yeah and she’s vaccinated.
