After a few failed animal control calls, I think I got a hold of someone from DCNR(?), the nice lady read me some instructions about covering the trap with a tarp, using a shovel or broomstick to move the cage into the bed of a pickup or car trunk then releasing at a stet park or game land. I asked " I won't get sprayed?" and she laughed and said "it doesn't say anything about that" WTF?!?! She then gave me a number for a guy and he came down and did exactly that and transferred the critter into a wooden box cage for $25. He was hoot, was like a thousand years old in a beat up datsun puck up truck - said he didn't move so good any more and asked he he could drive on the lawn to where the skunk was, I didn;t care if drove across my yard or the neighbors yard as long as he got that thing out of there.

Looking forward to a new season, retiring end of September so looking at 4 to 5 days per week skiing! 2 days at Bear for Mountain Host and re-aquainting with Blue, Jack, Montage, Elk and getting to New England! Maybe get lucky and meet up with you guys one day at Blue.

On my way to work today I saw somebody wearing a jacket and a knit hat..skison is getting closer.

Been there, done that. I ended up throwing an old, unwanted blanket over the trap so it couldn't see me. Then I just opened the end of trap and ran like Hell. It eventually made its way out and scurried away.

yea last time I tried to trap one I caught a skunk...

I'm still batttling with my groundhog. About 3 weeks ago, I walked the dog around midnight. Slipped on some flip flops and headed down my walkway. Took a step down, my flip flop kicked off and I literally stepped on my fat-ass-taco-bell-eating groundhog. He look so annoyed that I bothered him from sleeping on my steps.. About 6 months ago, I put up a trap from Harbor Freight but only caught 2 squirrels and possem. I finally called a pest guy last week. He set up 2 traps and still nothing. I know this 'hog comes by and sunbathes on the side of my house. So, I did what any normal person would do ... I set up an Amazon Blink camera focused on the traps. And, now we wait...

I haven’t skied in Utah since the mid ‘90s. Would be great to get back if only for a short trip.

I definitely want to get back to Utah this winter. It has been a few years since I've ben meadow skipping. Gotta get @mute1080 and Ryan out there with me.

Yeah but maybe somewhere different as well...Vermont, Utah..maybe New York. Weekday mornings at Blue as much as possible as well just so Bethlehem Ford guy can be like,”don’t you work”..

These cooler days have definitely put skiing on my mind. 4 more months!

What are your hopes and dreams for this upcoming season? A week in Jackson Hole and an April Colorado skifari? I'm starting to get excited as well.

it'd be nice if they created a path new trail from the first turn of paradise onto coming soon. access with both lifts. maybe take out a chunk at the bottom of paradise and force them further to the left.

I really suck at seeded bumps, but I keep trying them. Prefer the natural ones.

Idk...the merge into paradise seems a lot less dangerous to me than the park that they built on nmdw last year.

If they install a fence for people to go around, they will need to build a deck for people to watch that trainwreck unfold.

Pulled all of the potatoes and prepped them for storage in the basement. Another great harvest. Also pulled the rest of the green beans and prepped them to freeze. I kept a few pounds to cook and eat over the next few weeks. I also found a nice little rabbit nest in the rows of beets. They’re pretty big so I imagine they’ll leave and be on their own in the next day or two.

If they let at least the bottom of it bump up it would slow people down for sure, but yeah, that could be a trouble spot. The worst pipe crew in the world should be able to do 100' a day. trench, lay pipe and backfill. This is actually a pretty easy pipe job. there shouldnt be any utilities to deal with, they dont have to saw cut any blacktop, backfill with stone, (at least i never see stone when they are digging up pipes to fix) or haul anything away, so really, its pretty easy work. Its about 2500', so honestly, i dont see why they cant get it done before the season, but this is Blue Mt. Didnt they get a whole bunch of new snow guns last year? i would assume they still have some old shit lying around if they just wanted to use air/water guns.

I really liked CS with the natural snow last winter. I wonder if they’ll keep one side ungroomed? Also picturing lots of carnage where it empties on to Paradise.

The berries have wrapped up for the season but I'm still hoping for a late raspberry harvest like I got last year. Now the cantaloupe and squash are starting to get big. I picked about 8lbs of green beans last weekend and there are probably twice that still ripening now. I pulled a a row of beets today to see if they were ready and they are good to go. Definitely a good garden season this year. Hoping that continues.

You would think everyone learned their lesson from last year that shut downs, social distancing, masks, etc don’t help at all
