  1. Right on, thanks for the info. Want to show them the steepness of some of the hills, and Bubba wants to show his mom how steep Main St is since he skiied it on his last day this year.

  4. Dom and i walked up Rivershot at JF, and yeah, might not be so apparent on skis going downhill, but walking up a ski slope will make you very aware of just what kind of shape you really are in.

  5. The trails look way steeper without any snow on them. It is great up there in the fall during leaf-peeping-season or when they have their Octoberfest event.

  6. Kind of off topic, but has anyone gone up there and taken a scenic lift ride? I'm curious where you are/aren't allowed to walk around. Their site says you can take the lift back down or take the hike to Slopeside, but doesn't mention if you are allowed anywhere else. I'd like to take the boys up and walk up to the edge of a few of the trails like Razors and Main Street

  9. Blue Mountain registered "blue mountain resort homes" as a fictitious name. So, if you want to snag a site - it's for sale, @Benm. https://www.godaddy.com/domainsearch/find?checkAvail=1&domainToCheck=bluemountainresorthomes

  10. I read through it and it doesn't seem like a huge deal. I use to work for an advisory firm that did business and estate planning. I'm not an expert but here are takeaways. (1) It's not that big of a deal. (2) Update legal docs: They had a piece of business called Tuthill Corporation. I would imagine that some of those legal documents may be outdated. It sounds like there's a holding company and you can have multiple LLC's within it. So a benefit could be that they're updating their documents to reflect their intentions. It was incorporated in 1974 and amended 3x. Ray Tuthill passed away in 2007, so it likely needed a refresh anyway. (3) Corp to LLC: It's going from a Corporate structure to LLC. They're likely trying to lessen the tax burden of being a corporation. (4) Naming/Brand: There's another corporation called Tuthill Corp that manufactures and distributes engineered products like pumps, meters, vacuum pumps, etc. They're likely trying to get away from the "Tuthill corporation" name. There's also a branding benefit when you move away from a family name to a branded name. It honestly just sounds like they

  11. That was actually pretty decent..the morning call must have dozens of blue mountain articles in their archives. I’m surprised that Ray Tuthill ran blue right up to his death in 2007 that there was no succession plan earlier. I know Barb grew up on Long Island and has an accounting background. In college she dated a guy named Steve Markoff who was on the ski Vermont discussion list and he went to Lehigh. When me and Atomic Jeff had our meeting with Barb in 2009 I brought him up and she gave me that WTF look...

  14. The entire natural dietary supplement industry is unregulated by the FDA, unless a supplement is obviously killing people like ephedra does.

  15. Maybe this will inspire a new generation to go to school for 12 years to become pharmaceutical scientists and learn about drugs and vaccines down to the molecule so they have a full understanding of how they work. Eh that sounds like a lot. they'll probably just check out some social media instead.

  17. A lot of the anti vaxxers are concerned that the vaccines aren’t approved by the FDA but they put wads of chewing tobacco in their gums, eat super processed foods from the piggly wiggly, have unprotected sex and can are upset that the lyrics to cheeseburger in paradise don’t contain mayo and bacon...SMH

  18. Better bring a lot of cash. I think I was in the bar twice this year. The bar is never as much fun as the lot.

  19. What seems to be missing here is the business ownership being mentioned. The land seems to have been sold from one Barb Green company to another, probably just to consolidate everything since it seems like there were a bunch of parcels and other not so clear things, hence the 29 parcels and whatever else being sold for $1. So Blue Mountain Resorts LLC which is headquartered in Denver now owns all of the land of the resort, Barb is the CEO of that company. Did KSL buy the business of Blue Mountain but not the land? If that's the case then Barb gets some say in what KSL does on her land because she is leasing it to them to operate on.

  20. After a few failed animal control calls, I think I got a hold of someone from DCNR(?), the nice lady read me some instructions about covering the trap with a tarp, using a shovel or broomstick to move the cage into the bed of a pickup or car trunk then releasing at a stet park or game land. I asked " I won't get sprayed?" and she laughed and said "it doesn't say anything about that" WTF?!?! She then gave me a number for a guy and he came down and did exactly that and transferred the critter into a wooden box cage for $25. He was hoot, was like a thousand years old in a beat up datsun puck up truck - said he didn't move so good any more and asked he he could drive on the lawn to where the skunk was, I didn;t care if drove across my yard or the neighbors yard as long as he got that thing out of there.

  21. Probably going to get this. Mostly because I want to hit Greek and I know others would join in there. Montage and Shawnee always offer a nice change of pace too.

  25. Montage addition has me contemplating getting Epic + Indy passes for me and just Indy passes for the girls - who ski with me only half the time as they split time with their mom and like Montage a lot. Ski the more crowded Epic places when I go solo and can use singles lines and the less crowded Indy places when with girls. Save a good amount of $ compared with 3 Epic passes and Montage is a real nice option that is closer than Hunter for a day trip or could be combined with Greek for a weekend with some variety. Also I could check out lots of places I have never been - Jay, Bolton, Magic, Greek, B.East.
