Hey All, I’m back from another session at blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the upper lot at 835am and it was 29 degrees under partly sunny sky’s. In the house were Atomic Jeff, TP4, Mute, Ryan, Eaf, Bethlehem ford guy and a couple dozen boomers. Come around and vista was nice snow, almost packed powder, midway was semi slick and lower Main Street was boilerplate. Snow guns were blasting on upper Main Street, Burma road, connector, Tuts Lane, Lazy mile and in the valley. I skied like an hour+ then had a beer in the lot...one of the boomers got his Mini Cooper countryman stuck in the lot. He pulled too far forward and Mute and Ryan came to the rescue and towed him out. All in all a pleasent session and i’ll be back tomorrow AM for more of the same.6 points

Quick 2 hour session, got 12 runs in. Pretty scrapped off but you could find loose snow on the edges of Midway and Lower Main so it wasn’t too bad. Guns started ripping on upper main and Burma (I believe) around 530. Saw and said hi to ridge at the top of the lift. Then saw and briefly spoke to @MattEDGE and @Dirtwolf in the parking lot. beautiful night. Cheers.5 points

Im not sure if it was the wake from the Zinc Queen barge hauling all of the summers dirty diapers away, but there was some movement this morning. Looking at right around Christmas.5 points

Got to Jack Frost about 10 o’clock and skied until about noon. Was about 26° when I got there, no wind with hazy sunshine that clouded over during the morning. Did a couple of runs on Jane’s Lane, then spent the rest of the day on one park. Several jumps were set up on the top third but the bottom 2/3 were clear. Snow is in good shape, pretty grippy, and I probably skied too fast for the first day out but it felt pretty good. VAX card required to enter the building, and the only entrance open was the slopeside one. Blowing snow on Demattes, could be a rough week next week for the snow coverage. Light crowd, but more were coming in for the afternoon. Try to hit Blue tomorrow to add to the Boomers there.4 points

Legit a kid in her class is Fayme and another is Vyctory and Orlando is all over reading but that's old dudes who sell sketchy ass car speakers and shit. I haven't heard Feliz Navidad once yet....3 points

It was gorgeous today. Sunny at first, grippy and fast snow, yet no ice. And so few people that the trails stayed nice up until noon. It was like 10 times better than the opening day, and the only gripe that I have is that this time there was nobody to greet me at the doors and say "Welcome back".3 points

I talked to Marty who’s setting up for them again this year and he said they’re itching to get going but need more terrain. 300+ kids and 60ish coaches for the whole group this year2 points

They blew a little too much water at the end of their snowmaking session, but otherwise, a step up from the weekend. No cookies to speak of.2 points

To paraphrase the late/great Anthony Bourdain, never order seafood on a Monday, and never ever get lobster bisque at blue mountain Monday-Thursday Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Temps got a bit colder than expected last night so that definitely helps with snow production. 22 this morning when I woke up. I'm glad they are concentrating on expanding off of the Burma/MS lift and resurfacing what is open. I think they know they are in for a long haul with the upcoming weather. Definitely would not be smart to try and get the valley open when there are thin spots up top. Any way you slice it or dice it, its good that they are open!2 points

yeah, it's pretty grate if they get dumped by snow (snowiest area of the state). Good trees, Wildcat is super steep, the lodge is very old school and neat, lots of natural snow trails, decent vert1 point

Looks like it’s snowing there. I went up today. Early was a little slick, Midway was cookies/ice. Things improved around 1030. I’m skipping tomorrow, work Friday, Saturday. Going Sunday. I’m hoping they get Upper Main open and Burma.1 point

On the vail Monopoly board (because it what they practically are now) what would boardwalk and what would be park place...thinking Vail Resort would be boardwalk. Park City would be park place. I feel like the PA resorts would fall in the St. Charles Place section of the board (the purple properties).1 point

Had a guy sit down next to me at the bar at happy hour in a mask and gloves, order a beer and food… he would pull his mask down to take a sip or a bite of food then pull it right back up. I get being cautious, but if you’re THAT worried, happy hour at the bar doesn’t sound like a place you should be. I’ve also noticed a few places in town have put signs up on the door saying masks required (non-restaurants) which I’m sure will ruffle some peoples feathers.1 point

Salty doesn't know how to monitor the buoy. Only JFDan and I have access to it. We might let BenM in on it this year too.1 point

October 24 and I still don't have a pass for this year. Not sure I'm going to buy one; weird. I heard that Epic pass sales have increased by some insane amount over last year. And last year I barely used mine because resorts were so horribly crowded. Plus, my work schedule changed so that I can mostly only ski weekends, so...ugh. The two resorts near me (Okemo and Sunapee) are notoriously awful on weekends. I think I may just earn my turns on the local mountain. Dog knows I need the exercise. Plus when there's fresh snow I really enjoy hiking up and snowboarding down. Maybe I'll do that and just see what sort of cheap day passes I can score when I want some lift service? If it's a shite snow year I may change my mind on the passes, but for now I'm freewheelin' into the season with no commitment! Yikes! Will report back on how it goes! Killington is making snow already, though it's been a lovely long, warm autumn up here.1 point
