Got there late, today, about 11. Got lost driving to the slopes. 41° when I started and 44 when I left, overcast but with a nice wind blowing down the hill. Packed powder, with just a touch of grabbiness up top just before I left. About two dozen people on one Park and DeMattes. It was nice that everyone was a pretty good skier. Able to build my skillz by doing some drills on the slope and practice some YouTube video carving techniques. Got about 15 runs in. Since both blue and Frost only have slow lifts, I prefer the shorter lift with the shorter run at this point in the season. Plus, the west chair of the blue twin lift is definitely slower than the east chair or the frost chairs. Electronic problem resolved with the new phone, so nice tunes all day. About to head down to the basement to touch up the edges and redo the wax.10 points

Arrived in the upper lot about 8:20 to 37 degrees and nary a sole around, save for Rodney a few minutes later. Lined up about 10 til and shortly thereafter @Benm arrived, followed by Gary, Drew and a plethora of other Boomers. First run down found some weird undulations at the bottom of Midway/Top of Lower Main. Nobody could figure out how the groomers managed to create them and were a surprise and far from pleasant nonetheless as they made you wonder what they have in store for you when you hit them. Guns were still blowing in the valley for another 30 minutes or so. Unfortunately with the inversion, nothing up top was touched. Hopefully this front rolls through quickly and the cold air comes in fast so they have a chance to touch up what's already open and hopefully open some others. We'll see... Nothing much else to speak of condition-wise. Typical soft granular first run, then they slopes exploded into marbles shortly thereafter, creating push-piles everywhere. Shortly after the open, the trails were mostly empty, as it looked like many opted for Vista instead of navigating Midway's push piles. JADIP.9 points

He does a better job of hearing all sides of an issue than most other media. He had Sanjay Gupta, and now this guy. I find it funny that to be a good liberal people have to hate Rogan. I'm right in the middle politically, and from what I've listened to I think he's pretty damn fair and encourages critical thinking rather than blind ideology. However - people who are too dumb to think critically are dangerous because they will hear him say something and just blindly follow along. He's a comedian, not a doctor.6 points

You fell into my trap. 9:00 I found myself at Blue. Just did a couple of runs before bailing out to Frost.5 points

I think I'm going full re and heading up for the night session, embrace the junk show. Probably getting a little thin and hard to groom as I'm sure they told them you can't push any snow to the edge or there won't be anything to ski5 points

Blue is showing some real gumption with their snow making! We give ‘em a lot of (well deserved) $hit about grooming but damn, blue is making me proud with their guns going every chance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk5 points

I must have low standards because it was better than I thought it would be. Some smooth on Vista and the rest was rowdy but fun rowdy. Saw mute and fam going to get my pass fixed, little one was killing it and even cut somebody off which is a pasr move for real lol lol They issued me a new pass but it still doesn't scan but the second time I went it she was on the phone with the IT guy talking about my account. It almost doesn't matter now anytime the lifties see purple helmet they open it up.3 points

Sorry. Tail end of the 10-day forecast looks good for some near around the clock production. Could potentially hold during that whole Christmas week as well. Fingers crossed that Santa brings us some cold temps.3 points

You hit the nail on the head. He's a dude who, through a crazy roundabout way on a podcast, gets to talk to anyone he finds interesting and lays it all out there. The guy had Bernie Sanders on for 3 hours and loves him now. He gets high as a kite and wears a space suit with other comedians. He sits down and has deep conversations with philosophers. Sometimes he talks to scientists/doctors and sometimes he talks to guys who have seen UFOs. He's an equal opportunity chit chatter and at the end of the day if you have the time to sit down and listen to 3 hours of people talking you'll probably learn something. The whole concept of the show is a long form conversation, not a bite size interview or sound bite machine.3 points

Yes! I’m trying to get more of the Blue crew to rent all of Chets. If not me and some of the ski ladies will just rent rooms. That is a very unique place.2 points

It was meh today. Best weather of the week, I thought conditions would be better, but it started loose and sugary, only 30 mins later Midway blew up, and around 11am it all started to turn into mash. Not much snowmaking progress, they completely gave up on Burma. Something was going on at the bottom of Lazy, but Lazy itself is still covered with grass, so perhaps they were just making an escape route from Main into the Valley. Upper Main is same as week ago, in short, that Almanac doesn't deserve the paper it's printed on.2 points

My guys got the roof dried in just in time for this latest storm. Gonna head down early January once all the windows are in. Can’t wait to lay eyes on it. My builder said there was a bald Eagle hanging around all day. Property goes uphill and eventually reaches forest land. Although that lot belongs to someone else I have heard they live out of state and only come every few years. There is enough space to ski it on a makeshift 4 x 4 road. Only a few hundred feet of very but the steepness of a black resort run.2 points

Agreed. They really should line the other side with them as well like they do on Main Street. If those two trails are what gets the place open and keeps the place open then they should invest there. Maybe take the guns from Camelback since they can't even open the place up.1 point

He has some pretty interesting guests. I personally think it's a great show. Did you see the one with Snoop Dogg?1 point
