Last ski day before a temporary closure to refresh things. @GrilledSteezeSandwich @AtomicSkier @Benm @Justo8484 @Johnny Lawwere all there among other familiar faces. Conditions were better than expected but they will need some help after tomorrow’s rain. Still a lot better than the majority of ski areas in the mid Atlantic! See everyone next week. Enjoy your weekend of sleeping in. JADIP!8 points

My first real ski day of the season. I forgot my phone and felt so weird not having it. So only a couple pics my friends took. Went to Copper, 10 degrees pretty much all day. The Dew Tour was there so things were kinda crowded at the base, but not they runs. The lift kept stopping which was annoying so one run it took about 30 min between the line and the 3 stops while we were on it. Copper has a lot of terrain opened and the coverage was good the snow quality was not great we have had a lot of wind here so that is part of the reason very scraped off. Still a super fun first day6 points

Hey All, I’m back from another fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. Extra slow 40 minute drive and I arrived at the top lot at 7:35am. In the house were tickle me toast, Atomic Jeff, BenM, Johnny Law, Slim, Rodney, Bethlehem Ford Guy, crazy Kathy, tele Matt and many more. Temperatures were around 50 under mostly cloudy sky’s. At the rope drop the snow was hard and fast and not as many skeet spots as I was thinking. It semi softened up during my hour and 20 minute session. Had a beer in the lot and hungout a bit. I’ll be back at Blue 12-26 after the grinch steals Xmas. I have a lot up on 12/22 and will be in VA seeing family 12/23-12/25. I’m looking forward to a return to the valley and riding the Poke N Hoes coldest 6-pack. JADIP4 points

If not for liberal shitholes this state would make west virgina look like Monaco. Red states far far far and away consume more tax dollars than they bring in because red areas are poor. Red states are 9 out of the top 10 federal government whores and the blue state is VT which is .00000001% of a state like Mississippi. Conservatives are all like Rand Paul bleat like a retarded goat and deny hurricane sandy funds but when habitually poor and eternally shitty Kentucky gets hit with tornados Mr self sufficiency is first in line on his knees sucks Joe's dick for money. Abortion, taxes, the list goes on and on and on what being a modern conservative mostly is endless noise about how shit everyone is for taking x handout until they need it.4 points

As far as a reclosing day goes it was pretty good. Nice weather and a little slick but the bottom 1/3 was nice. Even midway was good enough in a drifting kinda way. Never want them to close but I hope they open back up with some better snow Gotta say major props to blue they called down to the bottom about my pass and told me before the rope drop. In alot of smalls way every year they get more and more professional without losing the vibe.2 points

Well said. I've always been fascinated how these poor states largely vote against their own self interest. This is an interesting wiki to brush up on how it came to be that some of the poorest states historically vote Republican. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_strategy LBJ was a cold motherfucker and this quote is rough: "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."2 points

That reminds me of when I wore a suit and tie to the magistrate in Jenkintown by Philadelphia. I went to court since I allegedly didnt come to a complete stop at a stop sign. Other people in court were like "yo dawg I just robbed da hood with my 22" and were dressed in their hood attire. I felt quite gangster myself. The cop just dismissed my case and reminded me to stop when I see a red octagon.1 point

I’m really happy with the two weeks of bonus skiing...some crap conditions, some good...pleasant temperatures and cold beers. If this was late in the season I’d be pissed at these missed days but we have a long long season ahead. I’m psyched about the valley and six pack for 12/26 and over 20 runs..might take a few days to ski them all.1 point

I also learned what deciduous trees are from this site. What a wealth of knowledge here at times. I also learned the word grundle, from you guys too, so take it all with a grain of salt.1 point

It's a gem. Think Central America connecting North and South America. Or, think about the small patch of snow connecting the Blue Mountain courtyard pavers to the land of opportunity known as Vista. We need to geography thread.1 point

I would agree. I am really just focused in on Sunday evening and beyond, with what look to be our best shot at decent snowmaking temps to date. What happens this weekend? Who knows. But i bet the beer in the lot will taste good. Gonna focus in on the positives, rather than complain about the things that are out of our control. Plus, i only have like 3 more days of work this year.1 point

Philly and other cities kind of stand out as islands though. I would say that most places are just parts of an isthmus or perhaps a tightly spaced archipelago. If you travel from Scranton through Harrisburg and down to the suburbs of Pittsburgh there realistically won't be too much change that you encounter, but the second you cross the Hudson into New York or City Avenue into Philadelphia things are different. Not saying it's bad, but it's noticeable.1 point
