Hey All, I’m back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 720am and it was 31 degrees under mostly cloudy sky’s. In the house were Atomic Jeff, JFDan, Toast, Nastar Glenn, Bethlehem Ford guy, Gary, Slim, GahSkier George and Rodney. First civilian six pack and first run on upper Main Street was soft cord that held up for about 12 minutes. Lower Main steeet was pretty smooth initially but turned into churned up stuff cookies fast. Lazy mike was deep thick sugar top to bottom and midway was smooth and grippy. It was very quiet, some people started spilling in after 9am from exotic places like Maryland but not the typical holiday week crowds. Looks like possible wintry precipitation this afternoon which will be good for stoke. They were blowing snow all over the east side..Paradise, Razors, Dreamweaver and I think coming soon. While conditions weren’t the best it was still nice getting out and was exciting having one run on crazy mile that had people everywhere. I’ll be back tomorrow AM JADIP8 points

Got out for a little ski tour in Nederland today. Half way there I realized I forgot my skins, D’oh! Had to turn around and grab them. Nice seeing some snow finally. The last 1/2 mile to the parking lot wasn’t plowed so we had to skin a bit up the road. only saw a handful of people, no wind (amazing) and temps about 18 degrees. Did about 3.75 miles round trip which means my dog probably did double that. He was pooped. i need to find some new low angle areas. This place is kind of a pain because the last mile or so out you have to put your skins back on. It was all work with the powder so we earned our lunch at Khatmandu on the way out of town.8 points

Upper main was a 180 from what it was yesterday. for the first run. First run was worth the price of admission. Lazy was firm yesterday, and went to sugar pretty quick today. Upper midway, middle midway, and lower midway skied great. But lower main was deep like the ocean. Burma started out nice, got kinda shitty, then got better, then a little better, and then again got kinda shitty. Beats working. Cant wait to see what tomorrow brings.5 points

"BFD, Do you ski?" well, sure, I do what I can. This season started with an employees only Wednesday after getting close to 8" the night before. Felt like a good start, but it's december in VT. We rollercoasted thru several drench and torch moments, with a 10 incher that was a nice re-set, but we are still in limited terrain mode and OB is too risky for me right now. Next weekend has some foot plus potential...5 points

What's going on up there, you ask? Spent May to October working at Spruce Peak Lodge 50ish hours a week, a place the size of the largest cruise ship spread over 6 city blocks, chronically understaffed and run by McHale's Navy. And I'm being nice. I had a dozen good reasons to quit, the final nail in the coffin was when the sled dealership informed me that due to supply chain issues, my sled was not delivered. So, knowing the shortcut thru the notch would be closed shortly, I quit. I had to finish building my deck and move 2 cords of firewood and I was running out of daylight and weather. The upside is: I can keep my bennies thru COBRA which turns out to be $350 cheaper per month than a plan thru BCBSVT and I got dental and vision as well. If I knew that, I woulda quit the day after I was eligible and signed up. Some projects porn: Palates of Bluestone: 75lbs/each x 60 = 4500 lbs Me and 2 friends putting in the precast peers in May. Thereafter, I ended up building the whole thang alone.4 points

I love the crown tv show ..Utah has been super super good 8 or so today and 5 or so yesterday so really fun knee deep meadow skipping style tree runs. None of the gnar stuff has enough snow but super fun. I heard from a dude Jackson is getting hammered. Wind was solid 30+ up top all day, sultan never opened and all the other lifts were jogging at least at some point.3 points

Lastly, but most importantly, my dad was stranded in Germany from March 2020 to June 2021. He Amtraked up here for a week for thanksgiving and his 86th birthday. We talked about a ski trip overseas in the spring, but all the unvaccinated dipshits are fucking things up. When did 40% of the population go retarded? The last 5 years have been a serious embarassment and will mark another dark chapter in american history. And it's still bad.3 points

Currently working 3 bar shifts at the Morse Mountain Grille at Smuggs. 5 minute ride versus 2+ hour round trip to Stowe is a nobrainer. Free ski pass and access to the pool, 40-50% discounts on everything including ski tunes. My shift starts with laps before work and a swim after work. It's a Moeghoul triathlon. Ski, run around at work, swim. I plan to lap Morse Mountain tomorrow and ski right to the grille, lock my gear, and do a Superman routine sans phone booth. I'll wear my swimsuit, followed by my work clothes and put my ski clothes on over it. It's all in the staging and planning to maximize livin the dream, yo.3 points

Then I decided I needed to rebuild the hot tub. 20 years old, one pump died, so I replaced all the pumps, the motherboard, the heater, and the control panel. Runs like new and hopefully outlives me. I got some parts at a pool/spa dealer in Colchester. My tub 2021 model costs 13,000-15,000 new depending on bells and whistles. $1600 for new parts was the better option.3 points

Hey All, I’m back from a big day at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot before 720am and it was in the low 40s with the sun rising over the Blue mountain. In the house were JFDan, Atomic Jeff, BenM, PARidge, Pops, Enjorales, Ryan, Root, Mute, Boo Bear, PSUFly, Matt edge, Charles, Spider, Faldo, Mixilplix, TP4, VTMark and many more. The usual fuckery at the Gates with some opening earlier and second civilian sic pack of the season. First run upper Main Street..was a little like a glory hole..narrow and choppy..you thought I was gonna say sticky. Lower Main Street was good. Lazy mike was firm and not nearly enough snow for falls to open. Midway was alright some cookies...Burma was pretty solid.. In addition to spring weather was the lack of crowds. With Blue charging $80 for half day tickets and $120 for full day for 15 runs, they left a lot of lift tickets on the table. I’m sure there will be a few moderately busy days midweek but with the amount of tickets available and sold lift lines won’t be an issue. In the lot was fun had a few beers including an Xmas beer from Toast..thank you and some beef, pork and sausage. Conditions weren’t mad Steezy but some more terrain is open and we are skiing here over 1,000 vertical feet in MASH. Mid Atlantic ski hell. JADIP.2 points

Glad to hear Hunter was rockin. Went north and did 2 days at Bolton Valley and 1 at Jay with kids. Limited terrain open at both, but zero lines and snow instead of rain on Xmas. Seemed like the best option on the IndyPass. Gonna work Monday and Tues and then head out for more turns weather permitting after that.2 points

Gotta start somewhere... They may have been able to get some small piles down that might make it and help to cover the dirt. Otherwise, they're started from dirt if they don't blow anything at all.1 point

Everywhere they are blowing is on bare ground except for coming soon. Anything they blew today will melt by the weekend1 point
