First hour was grate with no crowd and hero snow. You’re right about the crowd. Race teams and rentals came out and picking through lessons and people got spicy. Lazy was my ROTD but Midway to lower was pretty good too. I love the 8 am opening during the week.6 points

Don't know if this really counts as new gear but.....I scored a Mavic Mini....Absolutely hate the noise they make but some of the shots I've seen are pretty cool....Figured it would be good for the gravel rides/bikepacking or some of the cross country skiing/splitboarding (if we ever get some natural cover)....5 points

Yup, we were on Main Street setting another line of bumps from top to bottom. Hero snow and hero bumps!5 points

12/30, a continuation of 12/29, I guess. Foggy, soft snow. Skied from about 830-1030, got 10 runs in. Would have stayed longer, but it seemed the masses awoke, went to Blue Mountain and rented skis. I hope everyone goes back to work and school next week. Indiggio, were you there today, thought I saw you guys on Main Street5 points

Bottom lot is amazing!!! I always get the same parking spot. I even moved the garbage can over from across the entrance road for easier PASR access.3 points

Interest? All the time, especially when I read the annual trip reports out there and see a dozen reminders of the place. The bar I built should be a pretty good clue! I'll get back out again.2 points

Well said. I've always been fascinated how these poor states largely vote against their own self interest. This is an interesting wiki to brush up on how it came to be that some of the poorest states historically vote Republican. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_strategy LBJ was a cold motherfucker and this quote is rough: "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."1 point

I mean I think it's a tad more complex than that. I think there is just something inherently difficult about having that many people living in one place and the places themselves being extremely diverse in terms of not only people but neighborhoods, types of homes, and types of establishments in the area. Couple that with the need for more and more complex infrastructure than less dense areas and you have a recipe for things to not necessarily work efficiently and for the free market to make things spicy.1 point

I’m guessing people in Philly are more worried about getting shot (no pun intended) than getting covid1 point

My guys got the roof dried in just in time for this latest storm. Gonna head down early January once all the windows are in. Can’t wait to lay eyes on it. My builder said there was a bald Eagle hanging around all day. Property goes uphill and eventually reaches forest land. Although that lot belongs to someone else I have heard they live out of state and only come every few years. There is enough space to ski it on a makeshift 4 x 4 road. Only a few hundred feet of very but the steepness of a black resort run.1 point

ok so i'm not sure whether this should be in the pics from today thread or the beer thread. the pics aren't from today and its not beer. i've always stuck to orthodoxy with things like this. but... after my cousin posted something that sounded very tasty on fb, i decided it was time to try something new. this is far different than traditional in the sense that there aren't really any spices. what i normally make calls for allspice, caraway seeds and cloves. normally there is also a lot less fruit in the mix as well. i tried some early yesterday morning (it had to cool down overnight) and it is no joke. this is definitely a sipping drink - at least the first couple of glasses. anyway, it's called pineapple upside down boilo and is supposedly an award winning skook recipe. the ingredient photo is missing pineapple orange juice and half of the motts for tots. i have all of the ingredients for the one i regularly make, will prob do that in a couple weeks.1 point
