I had a f***ing blast this morning. I did 16 run all thru come around to midway dahn to the 6er with 2 runs down Burma. Got there around 9 since there was no reason to get there for opening and stayed till 12. Bring on the cold temps and let the guns roar.

Hey All, I’m back from another session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 759am with sick beats blarin' and it was 50 degrees with fog in the mid and upper mountain. In the house were Atomic Jeff, BenM, Bethlehem Ford Guy, Indiggio, Matt Edge, MBikeMike, Mrs. Snowbunski, Mixilplix, Mute, Ryan, Toast, TP4, VTMark, those dudes I always talk but don't know their names, and many others. First run of the day was Midway. It was mad Steezy. I blasted down those spring conditions on my Elon Ripsticks. Siiick. The coverage was terrific, a bit of dirty snow though. Lazy Mile was harsh - lots of bare spots and even more dirty snow. I rode the slow Main Street lift once for some variety, and told the lift attendant that they don't need to be running Burma lift too today, because literally no one was in line. But he said it was for the race team which was out in full force today. If they're running lifts that's basically leaving money on the table. They should save those funds and hand out free chocolate chip cookies like Steamboat does at 3 pm. Vista was foggy AF. Burma was pretty nice and not crowded like usual. Connector was rad, though I had trouble finding it in the fog. Afterwards hung out in the parking lot drinking Yoohoos and making merriment, then I hiked 3.7 miles around Palmerton, including up to and around that legendary house on the hill. #JADIP #Grate #Radical #Sickbird.

Glad it’s getting colder to blow. Wouldn’t be able to make it much longer. It’s been a season of survival. Hopefully they’ll be able to resurface what was lost and maybe get more ready for next weekend if weather cooperates.

I was up early but went back to sleep cause I didn’t feel like skiing in the fog again. I shouldn’t miss days because only Toast, you and indiggio write decent reports besides me.

A stiff north wind plus lake effect plus orographic lifting and the Kittatinny ridge creates what is know as white magic..aka snow aka frozen droplets intermixed with air combined with candy coated rainbow titty sparkles will have you skiing nipple deep pow pow on widowmaker aka raceway aka shicola chute aka Saltys revenge...it will have your Herman twisted like a pretzel.

Lol. I've been living in the Poconos for almost 20 years and I've never heard anyone once utter the phrase "Hell! I ain't drivin' no 30 to 45 minutes for no job!". No one I know even speaks like that. But way to mis-characterize so many people. BTW I also drove to the LV daily for probably 13 or 14 years. Plenty of people I know also did / do the same. But you go on generalizing. While you're at it do your angry Disney rant too. SMH

Anyone see the accident at upper lot entrance? An expedition went into the exit side and hit an exiting car head on, luckily didn’t look serious

Yeah write a report. I’m actually at work right now so it will give me something to read when I take my next break. I just didn’t feel like skiing anymore lazy mile in the rain. There’s a lot of ski season ahead of us. I’ll be back Tuesday AM. Gonna me cold dress like a cosmonaut

I believe incorrect. My understanding is that it’s the local equivalent of the Powder Buoy. No one really knows why, but when it pops, storm’s a’comin. You can set your swatch by it.

Our local CVS got a shipment in. They are limiting purchases to 2.

Stocked up on n95s for when I travel in a few weeks. Also found some at home tests online and snagged 3 boxes...the ihealth version. It's fda approved and apparently one of the better tests at detecting omicron. Grab em while you can.

Any ski area is relying on seasonal help. They should have affordable housing for the people working there. All these places have relied on foreigners who will work for peanuts. The savings were not passed on to the visitors at the resorts. Now COVID has changed everything, and they can’t get help. What goes around comes around. One of my kids worked for Vail at PC/ Canyons couple years ago. They were treated like dirt.

You health care workers have good job security just like tombstone salesman like me. I’m just thankful for the little windows of snowmaking which has allowed us some fine ski days so far. But I will pray on the blood of Jesus Christ of ladder day saints and Moses and Mohammad and Buddha and Nastar Glenn and TP4 that the rest of the season is good amen...

Ugh. So over this weather. God and Jesus, please throw the skiing health care workers a bone. We’re at the end of our ropes.

People buying and converting former seasonal rentals to AirBnB's has caused a shortage of cheap places for seasonal employees and ski bums who used to work mainly for the free pass to live. They can't afford to live near the ski areas with the low wages.

I'm actually still awake right now too which is crazy. Trying to get out of the waking up at 4am cycle.
