Woohoo, the most spontaneous, untimely, borderline inappropriate and irresponsible sprint for Jungfrau skiing region and back (at least for me, hopefully) is under way. Triple-vaccinated, twice-tested, with tedious (and not free!) paperwork for Switzerland certificates and entry forms, as well as the drive, checkin and loooooong security line are all behind our backs now. Three days of skiing and four nights of stay in a village of Grindelwald where we are supposed to arrive via a 3 hour train ride with 2-4 changes, depending on the route that sbb.ch will pick for us when we clear security and claim our luggage in Zurich. Each change is 5-10 mins only, which is going to be exciiiiiting! Rewatched North Face for the scenes from Kleine Scheidegg at the bottom of Eiger, for we’ll hopefully get there as well. It’s been snowing in Jungfrau daily for a few weeks, it’s going to be snowing there every day we’re there, I’m sure I’ll hate every minute of it.11 points

Hey All, I’m back from another morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 830am and it was 17 degrees under sunny sky’s. In the house were Atomic Jeff, Johnny Law, Bethlehem ford guy, Rodney, Gary, Drew and a couple dozen more. I heard about somebody who got his season pass pulled for poaching upper Main Street yesterday..what a ding a ling The snowmamkbg cannons were blasting on Paradise, Razors, Falls, upper Main Street and a few random spots. First run on midway to lower Main steeet was rough..that solid teeth chattering snow. Lazy mile was ok on the top 2/3 with mainly frozen granules with a few abrasive spots. Only skied about an hour and then hungout in the lot for about a half hour enjoying the sun. With no wind it felt pretty nice outside, not as cold as expected. I’ll be back Thursday AM. The only way Philly got an inch of snow is if someone dropped a snow cone at a very specific part of the airport.4 points

I was really hoping for Upper Main tomorrow. There’s a ton of snow on it. Figures, more open terrain on Thursday, and I’m working. That’s ok, I’m off Friday. And maybe some real snow 👍👍3 points

I don’t turn it on til I’m walking out of the lot on to the snow. I didn’t feel like I was going that fast, and I do turn my skis a lot. I guess you can pick up a lot of speed on those cookies2 points

It’s the old George Carlin joke. Who cares what the weather is at the airport, no one lives at the airport.2 points

I was thinking that while skiing yesterday. Absolutely terrible name for that trail. So generic and the doesn't fit the trail at all. I came up with a good one on the lift yesterday..."Polaris"....because it faces North and at night you can see the north star from there. Blue you dropped the ball. free fall. Terrible.1 point

Thanks. I didn't think to bring sunglasses on my Eurotrip and was told by everyone that I wouldn't be able to see on Jungfrau peak without sunglasses due to the immense brightness. So I bought a pair in Lauterbrunnen and my friend lent me some Swiss Francs. @eafMake sure you take the choo choo train to the top of the mountain, and eat lots of Swiss chocolate.1 point

The knob is good with lots of snow, there is alot around that place for PA but its needs alot of snow. Otherwise you've just driven three hours to Claysburg to ski a crack head version of Blue. Also don't get a cheeseburger from the lodge.1 point

It was super good to park in the valley and ride the big comfy couch in the sky. The snow was pretty awful, cookies everywhere but they were blowing and by this weekend it should be much better.1 point

Get a classic car. Permanent registration, and no inspection. Nice work. Pretty much guarantees us 40 degrees and rain on friday. Thanks.1 point

Got there about 930 and skied until 1130. 22° cloudy and a little bit of gusty wind blowing up the hill. Lapped challenge the whole time, one park was pretty busy and they were blowing on a closed DeMattes. Seem to be touching up the slopes before working on new terrain. Challenge was pretty flat and very firm, a little bumpy if you got moving too fast. It was nice being on the challenge lift again, and skipping the flat runout of DeMattes and one park. No lift line, but most chairs had occupants by the time I left. Some sugar snow build up on the slope. Challenge was getting a little crowded since it was the only slope served by the chair. Slope side parking was open again at the Challenge lift. Sushi and air in the tires on the way home. Couldn’t get my Slopes app to start recording, but an update when I got home fixed it. New wrist Bluetooth audio controller worked very well.1 point
