Benm and I skied this morning, cold but warm super cold with good sun and no wind Razors first run was OK but after that the upper headwall was a mine field of cookies. Lazy was near western groomer and main outside of where the pipe burst was very good. Personally best part of the day they only ran the sixer which made coming soon skate to. It wasn't bad at all, maybe a minute or two and then it only had like 3 tracks at 10am. Guns where on the main headwall which kinda skunks it but I say that's the best way to run.6 points

I decided to work from Bleu this morning and take my calls while sliding on snow. I strolled to the lift at 10:15/10:30am and chatted with BenM & JohnnyLaw on their way out. i love razors… usually. But It felt like frozen chicken thighs especially on the top head wall. Lots of vibration. favorite run was Lazy Mile to Crossover to Falls. I thought it was great. Meandered around. Had a great time. i was surprised there was so many people but it was likely because the quad wasn’t running. occasionally i would notice the quad turning. after 10 runs, I headed back to work. I should definitely ski midweek more. It was lovelllllly. Super grateful of them churning out so many trails!5 points

Finally drove up to see the progress on my cabin and order some kitchen cabinets. driving in my neighborhood On the drive up I was thinking I would check out the 4 x 4 road that goes up to the top of the hill to see if it would be skiable. Coincidentally, my new neighbors were at the base of it, putting on skins. They reported it wasn’t an epic ski down but it was fun and would be right outside my door. This is the start of the road The road up to my house is about an 8% grade so I could pretty much ski back down to my driveway.5 points

Fun, quick RAW session tonight. Phenomenal snow, no scraped off spots at all. Busier than I would have expected tbh. But, they had somebody up by the front of the lift line organizing chairs, stuffing 3 and 4 people on almost every chair up. Did 4 solo runs before meeting up with a coworker for another 2 runs before he had to go teach a lesson. Then I headed over to the other side of the mountain for a couple more which included an open timberline. Was nice riding with my coworker for the first time and I’m sure we’ll ride together many more times. Oh yea, Ole Sassys open…I repeat Sassys open!! Pretty sure they’re 100% open at this point and will be building Cascade Park tonight. LFG!5 points

Got 20 runs in today. Snow was perfect everywhere except The Falls had tons of cookies. I was glad they turned the guns off for awhile because it was CAF. Cold weather kept the crowds down. Quad stopped a couple times, but it wasn’t bad. Skiing tomorrow and most likely not back again until next Tuesday. MLK weekend, think I’m gonna stay away.4 points

I am supposed to be in-person, but it is the first day of class so if this is something more than a few inches I'm thinking I could record an introduction lecture and post it for students. Of course this would be to ensure the safety of students who are commuting to campus.3 points

Skiing in general in PA typically ends up in disappointment, so why should the weather be any different. This will go back and forth for 4 more days, so yeah, its almost not worth paying attention to until like maybe Friday. The take away here is that Monday has a better chance of snow than Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. It might be a 3% chance, but its at least something.2 points

… and watching them push out Razors was impressive AF, that’s a lot of snow! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Kinda sort of might be some snow brewing for monday. but it may also go south, fizzle out completely, or be sunny and 60 degrees. my snowblower is still safely stowed in the shed.2 points

We've been in Wilmington/Lake Placid since Sunday 1/2/2022. First time skiing in 2 years and it felt good to be back out. Worked remotely most of the week. Took off Thursday and today to get some laps in. Typical Northeast ski conditions. Windy, dry and chilly. Snow has been decent though. It was fairly empty yesterday and today which is always nice. Feels like you have the mountain to yourself. We will ski again tomorrow which looks like it will be 32 and sunny. Sorry I don't have the details like most of the trip reports. We skied a fair amount of vert. Rode the gondola most trips so we skied top to bottom a bunch. Ate at the bottom lodge and usually ordered from the BBQ menu (they have a smoker outside the lodge with some good eats). So yeah Ill post some pictures tomorrow. Visibility hasn't been great so not much to share.2 points

wow crazy what a week of cold weather can do. I saw on insta that they were shooting to be 100% for this weekend.1 point

What a shit show tonight. Quad line was crazy. It seemed like all of BMR was in da house completely disregarding pass scanner (taking and jumping up to front of line. They had razors closed so didn’t even get a chance to ride it. Snow was great otherwise.1 point

A tough season for the TLCITW men. Pre Christmas limited trails and questionable conditions. Christmas week, too many people overcrowding the same limited trails, then conditions deteriorated further, eventually causing the 3 day New Years weekend shutdown to recoup. Finally all last week the Covid virus struck.... Extremely fatigued, headache, off and on fever then chills, sore throat, no congested lungs or severe cough, thankfully.. Feeling better last two days. Hopefully the season will improve soon. The beer is cold anywhoo...1 point

Skier. He skied a few times when he was younger so he was excited to try again. He took a private lesson Thursday and since then we’ve been cruising blues and greens. He wants to go skiing again before we come back to Whiteface in March so maybe we will take a trip to blue one of these weekends.1 point

WJW when I bought a manual everyone was like, "Oy Salty, Yer gonna burn out yer Clutch cuz you never drove a manny ba-fore". And still don't need a new clutch1 point

My office manager used to have a manual transmission car and she’s a shitty driver and went through like 4-5 clutches and when she’d take her kids to Warp tour at Montage she’d rent a car at the Lehigh valley airport because she said that hill would destroy her clutch. I’ve seen her when there’s an inch or two of snow just peel out like the roads are dry...at least she’s good at filing papers and customer service. Reminds me of this and she’s not Asian.1 point
