  1. Temp read -1 in the parking lot...Everything I rode was in great condition..CS was a little skechy though....Super nice runs down Switch..The piles of snow they have on Sidewinder are huge....Put the XC/tele stuff on and did a few laps on the beginner triple....Even skinned up it twice....Some nice meats from @enjoralas and cup cakes from @skiincy made for a great morning at Blue Mt...

  2. It was cold…. Lines were relatively short for a weekend. Might have been because of cold + eagles game. But I snapped these photos while on the 6-pack

  3. I almost don't want to say it out loud but blue has been in serious boner donor mode. Everyday for the last 10 or more has been waking up next to the person of your dreams nearly as hot sibling. I rode switch like 6 or 7 times in a row, just a near perfect carpet, plunging at full speed, Ronco effort turns the whole way and switch didn't even have the best snow. Top fucking notch lot session, massive props to Enjo for a surprise feast. Nothing is better in single digits than delicious hot food and the one meat that was like hot butter, just crazy good. Everything is everytime and still it's like fuck is that good. Round of applause to Atomic too for throwing down on gs skis after running to Mars yesterday, that's Shane levels balls out. Snowing here about an inch so far crazy to say but hope it doesn't fuck up the snow LOL LOL LOL

  4. Arrived for round 2 with Boo at 420 and got after it. Most of the snow is scrapped off except the slower trails. Snow started falling at 515 and someone had a medical emergency is the 6 pack corral around 530 but they didn’t stop loading. Ambulance came so hopefully everything will be good for them. Quad is pretty much ski on which is nice. Grabbing a beer and heading back out.

  5. First run down Razor's was #1 Grade A Prime snow, super fast and very edgy. Cut over to Razorback and it was just as good. Next run down NM/DW and the snow on it was almost as good as Razor's! Third run down was Challenge, well, so much for the perfect conditions! We saw the gouge marks on it while riding up the 6, so it was no wonder nobody was on it. Skier's right appeared to be the best choice on the top headwall, especially to avoid a catastrophe from the gouges in the middle. Turned out it wasn't too bad, but that goodness was VERY short lived. After the flat you were deposited into a minefield of various frozen chicken parts strewn across the entire slope! This continued on pretty much down to where the crossing comes in prior to Falls. WJW! Needless to say, that was the one and only run down Challenge today. Nightmare/Dreamweaver also had some fantastic snow as well. Next up was Switchback which was wicked fast and with the brutal cold, the "dust" from sliders in front seemed to just hang in the air and it had excellent snow as well. The blew a skiff of snow in Barney's, just to tempt people in to their demise, as the glaze ice in the troughs from the broken pipe lurked below for the unsuspecting wanderer. I know for a fact it did claim one victim. The rest of the day was spent lapping Coming Soon, but each run down the quad line got longer and longer. Neither the 6 or the quad had anyone gating, so it was a mad free-for-all to the gate. Peaced out around noon for parking lot beers and chatting with @enjoralas, @PSUFly, @saltyant, @Dirtwolf , @tarponhead, with a brief visit by @MattEDGE

  6. Great day today, cold but good snow. Seeing them blow snow in the glades is awesome. Widowmaker was good all morning, nightmare dreamweaver was good too. Riding switchback was fun too

  7. Gonna be skiing Greek for the first time today and tomorrow. Looks like they are in a sweet spot for the Sunday night storm and thinking that it will clear out of here for the drive home Monday night earlier that it clears out of places East, plus the drive home being almost all interstate will make it easier to get home.

  9. (Downhill) Ski day #1 of the new year for me, I didn't go last week because I had covid, oops. (Glad to get that out of the while I'm on break I guess) Absolute amateur hour on my part, I rolled into Montage bright and early for opening, tried to redeem my Indy pass, it's blacked out (duh 🙄) - well at this point at Montage I figured I am most of the way to Vermont so I just cruise up 81 to Elk, eating my crunchy bologna sandwich which had frozen solid because I left it in the car last night. Elk was busy but I probably didn't wait more than 5min for a lift, those lines move deceivingly fast. Trails were not crowded at all. Snow quality was great except the far west trails which were a bit slick. Line at the quad was a bit longer than at the lodge because they weren't running the double over there, I assume to keep those trails from become slicker since there were a few routes not open over there. It was warmer than I expected after driving up in 0 degrees this morning, it was 28 when I left but definitely had chilled after the clouds showed up. Beautiful day before then. Elk should be opening a few more trails soon that they blowing on today. Apparently it was deserted yesterday and last night due to the cold. I got one last run in perfectly timed, a good time to quit too as my legs were getting pretty tired from telemarking down the (not quite) 1000 feet of vertical excitement looking like a noob. I had a very large and very reasonably priced slice of pizza and coffee, got a personal elk wagon back to my car, and started cruising back down 81 towards Lancaster just in time to catch some nice wintry precipitarion. Well if I had been thinking I would have taken the northeast extension and 222 back but I was not, I pull off 81 in Pine Grove and soon come to the realization that I am on route 645 on top of Blue Mountain in my outback with all-season tires with several inches of fresh wintery mix in the dark. So I decended in 1st gear and 1 hour behind schedule finally roll into Lancaster after stopping at Turkey hill to clean the ice off my wipers. Anyway the skiing was great and I can't say the drive wasn't interesting.

  10. Morning sesh, cold and beeahs’ kickin my ass, needed to get some things done this morning so Did an afternoon tele sesh. snow held up well and plenty of surfable soft in the edges. After a few TCS’s, razors , NMDW and a main ended up going over the bars on the baby bumps/spine on paradise lol. Met up with MrsSoBunski for some beers in the bar before driving home in the snow around 6:30. Helluva lot better than watching Brady beat up the birds lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. What a fun weekend . Great conditions and although crowded later could still do reasonable time in lifts. TCS rights side ( no bumps so everyone went there) was absolute $hit (watched a ski school instructor eat it there).left side with bumps was $ as most stayed away Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. I have a season pass so it didn't cost a dime, other than maybe a dollar of gas to go out of my way home from my flight lesson. Plus I got to hang out with some radical PASRs.

  16. Jack Frost was pretty grate today. Met up with a snowboarder who is joining me on my Breckenridge trip, and his friend. JF now has at least two black diamonds open - Challenge and River Shot. Last time I skied River Shot, I didn't realize it's named that way because you can see the river. Very cool! It's nice they got a few extra trails open since I was getting bored doing the same old trails all the time. JADIP Then I came home to no heat after paying the HVAC company $897.60 and I blew an absolute gasket, on par with when I got stuck in Dallas on my way to Yellowstone. Fortunately the plumber talked me through getting it to work (for now) without charging me so I'm in a better mood now.

  17. Skied til almost 8. Temp was 22° when we left and a little over an inch fell. I was feeling warm since it was 25° warmer than this arriving morning. Air hose blew on lower Sidewinder which kind of looked like a wacky inflatable tube man. Hella people poaching Sidewinder whales, especially when they stopped blowing at 630. WTGAI. Drive home was semi spicy. Didn’t have an issue but snow was going sideways. There was a car on it’s roof in a ditch on 248 just below Seemsville Road. Police were already in the scene so we didn’t investigate. The crowd left as soon as the snow started and conditions improved. Razors was the best tonight and usually empty. Fingers crossed there’s no rain and it stays snow all night.

  18. Glad to hear it was survivable with the cold temps and that the snow was still great! Sorry I missed you all this weekend but my legs are not working today after yesterday's run. I'll likely be up midweek a few times.

  20. Hey all, Back from another fun session at Blue Mountain the True Mountain. Rolled in da house at 1146 am and in the house were Dirtwolf, Enjoralas, Indiggio, JohnnyLaw, Matthew Edge, Nastar Glen, Pops, PSUFly, Skiincy, and many many others. First run was looking for a parking spot and fortunately Nastar Glen gave me his. What a nice guy!! @AtomicSkier was supposed to double park and keep my spot warm but I guess he forgot. After parking lot shenanigans, headed out and stood in line at the six pack for 23 minutes and 40 seconds. Rode the lift and experienced 2 stoppages due to gapers. First run down Switchback was mad steezy - icy, icy, ice is nice. Then stood in line at the Main St lift for 14 minutes and 11 seconds, rode Widowmaker to Midway to Lower Main Street and called it a day. JADIP Ice Iz Nice.

  23. Grate conditions all over the mountain, save the mirror ice between bumps on Barneys'. They were downright dangerous!f Coming Soon had glorious chalky goodness no matter where you skied. Loving the bump field to keep everyone from balling into Paradise at mach silly. It was hard to stop lapping it until the quad came to a screeching halt around 2pm, so we bailed to the lot. Looked like they eventually got it back running some 20 or so minutes later.

  24. This new wintry mix is turning sloppy in Lancaster. I had to ski it in da moonlight before the rain melts it away. Wet and gliding surprisingly well on new tracks. The previous snow had been skiiable until wednesday Full🌝Moon It would be cool if the ski areas around here continued the party a bit later until like midnight especially under the full moon. I know there are some xc operations that do that.

  26. I think the $5 card charge is common most places that do them. I know it was added to both my trips to Steamboat and at Copper in the past few years.

  27. I am planning on going up for a day once chair 2 or some glades open. Seems like you should have some pretty nice snow tomorrow. It is even accumulating in the woods on top of the stuff from last week way down south by me.

  32. Just a lot of jack Daniels and I wanted to leave the bar by midnight and left at 145am. I allow myself to miss one day per ski season for being hungover and that was it. It’s funny I don’t mind going to work with a hangover but I like being fresh when I ski...I also figured the bar would be dead because it was so cold out and it was packed...and a 6 person Boomer band was playing old favorites from the 60s and 70s.

  33. The trails off chairs and 4 and 5 had better conditions. Nice to see there was some coverage on the closed trails including the glades, so the 8-12 they are forecasting for tonight (followed by 1-3 tomorrow).should get everything open.

  37. Hey All, I’m back from a fun session at Mont Bleu. I arrived at the lower lot at 720am and it was 90 degrees colder than my fourth favorite boy band. In the house were Johnny Law, JFDan, Matt Edge, Dirtwolf, Ryan, Mixilplix, Mute, Nastar Glenn, BenM, MBike mike, Pops, Indiggio, Tarponhead, Bethlehem Ford Guy, Enjorales, Pops, Enjorales cousin, Falco and many more. First civilian six pack and razors was already closed for race training. Had a really sweet Main Street to begin and Main Street had the nicest conditions. Nightmare to Dream Weaver was OK and had a couple of Root rollers. Switchback was super good for the second day it was open and Coming soon had nice chalky fresh manmade Poe. Yeah it was cold and windy but we’re skiers so no big deal. Fun parking lot today..the highlight besides Matt Edge cool stories was seeing the inside of the hippie mobile..it was a mini version of roadside America...totally radical. Ski everybody tomorrow AM

  44. Today was so good, really really good snow, excellent lot shenanigans and major bonus points for a roadside America reference. Excellent vibe all day and I was super impressed with the chalky blown over the bumps on coming soon. The trench skiers left is getting deep but maybe a shame the best guns on the hill are being used to make bumps. Tits Mcgee seeing everyone, a Glenn and edge day was unexpected on the coldest day of the year so far.

  45. Today was good. Wicked cold, but with battery powered heat on everything, it wasnt quite as bad as i thought it would be. Doug is spot on, main good, switch good, NMDW ok, and Zinc or Swim was a special treat. Its been said before, but what ever guns they use, filtered water with no zinc, or big mac secret sauce injected into the mix, the snow is great on that trail.

  47. Hey All, I’m back from another fun morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 8450am and it was about 30 degrees out.. In the house were Atomic Jeff, Bethlehem ford guy, BenM, Johnny Law, C1er and many others. Took the quad and hit Razors edge which was the best of the season. The snow was grate, I’m sure better than yesterday’s frozen chicken wings but smooth and firm. I skied razors twice then to Switchback which was way better than expected for opening. Then to Main Street. It was basically chalky snow groomed to perfection. Main Street was the run of the day and I think I skied that three times total with various entry roots from Xing, Chute, Midway. The lines weren't bad since the quad and sixes were both running. In the lot it was in the mid to upper 30s which is mad goldilocks..not too warm, not too cold, just right, but a bit breezy today. Have a great weekend! JADIP
