It's called just the tip.....like Ivanka Trump I awoke this morning to a surprise two inches. NOAA said a half inch but the keen eagle eye of BenM was the first to spot patrols deeper tracks on Razors. A solid 2 made razors a dream and light for pa, if you didn't look down you didn't know it was even there. Next up was CS, with snow Mao Pow was in full effect and held excellent untracked soft snow all the way to the Berlin wall. Not surprising given the quality of his inaugural run but BenM has joined the glorious revolution. You can stay deep in the trench you can play high on the wall you can even grind the spine shit is all spectacular. Everything else is tits Mcgee but after two more on switch and widowmaker the untracked was gone. Fucked with blue bomber glades which were so nice I decided to fuck with the switch woods which were a luge track with some fluff so more time for the woods woods to be in. Super super nice sleeper morning with snow that skis really really nice even after it's all cut up. You can't hear people skiing from the lift, the skis are throwing up cold smoke and there is adventure in the skiing. Outside of the real snow days it's as good out there as it ever is.14 points

I was actually waiting to see how long it would be until somebody said something lol. Not much other than skiing 10k of vert an hour and no liftlines until late morning today. Lightning fast groomers, demanding bumps, slick areas, frozen toes, sharing Gatorade, overtipping mangy moose waitresses, sweating from every pore in my body skiing the hobacks yesterday and getting yelled at by ski patrol on day one. Again the normal. NMSki has been a blast to have on the trip and Atomic Jeff is alright..perfect visibility, icy sidewalks, maskless shuttle bus rides, lots of drinking...lots of sleeping...lots of riding the lifts with people from jersey and Canada. That’s your update for now. More to come and maybe some powder late in the trip. Stay tuned. Gotta take off my pants and check out the blue webcams.7 points

Filling in for D money who's in Jackson Hole. Who's gonna be at Blue this weekend. Tomorrow is a giant ?? Weather wise. Could see snow, maybe some wind. Either way dress like a Taikonaut. Sunday looking much better with sunshine and no wind. I'll be in the house tomorrow and possibly Sunday. Last weekend in January already! Time flies when you're having fun.5 points

No time for such trivial things when you’re having a blast riding Jack’s Sin Hole.5 points

quick afternoon session. lift lines werent bad, they actually looked worse than they were, i was thinking i would head over to the double if it got bad, but just ended up running the quad. skied TCS, and Razors. both super fun, the ditch on either side of TCS was fun, skied some Volkswagen bumps, skied some smaller bumps, and even grinded the spine on skiers right. The most people i saw on TCS was a group of patrolers. Razors was a little 3D snow, with some scrapy spots on the first headwall, but nothing crazy. The quad was behaving for the most part. The baggy pants crew were heavy in the house, most likely enjoying the now ruined NMDW. Really miss that lefty righty with some speed down that trail.5 points

TR 1/28. Rolled in at 8:30 to a snowy day. The snow showers turned out to be steady snow until noon. Best conditions of the year, soft, quiet snow on all trails. Kodiak, Upper Kodiak, Timberline, Broadway all exceptional. Grizzly has new seeded bumps that need to work in that cover the skiers left side, bumps go all the way to the bottom. Two big new snow features in Black Bear Park plus an additional ramp put on top of the big hump. Smiles on everyone's faces today! JADIP5 points

Good shit! CS in stalin's trench was amazing last night. I started playing around skiers left on the upper part of CS and there are some fun lines through there too. Can only imagine the fun today.5 points

Ran only the quad at rope drop, but started the six pack pretty quickly. Razors was prime, everything started to get cut up around 10:30.4 points

You gotta go full USSR and start before the gun up top, today you could go two left of the poles which is as far left as I've gone on the top. It was like slightly faster cross country where it's flat but was mad nice making doodle turns looking at squirls and rabbits and shit.4 points

According to the hourly the wind is supposed to kick in later...around noon or so.3 points

Honestly I only got up this morning as I couldn't go yesterday with work and all the way up to first run down razors I figured a coating at best. Hopefully this is a good omen for tonight, even 3 would be nice.....especially wherever the wind ends up taking it all.3 points

I was late. I was so unbelievably, inexcusably freaking late! First slowdowns on the parkway (Where are all these people going to, isn't it still pandemic?), then stuck behind a movers truck on a one-lane road (Really? Moving? Have you seen the house prices lately??). GPS was showing that I was being 2 minutes late, then 4, then 6, ahhh! I'm gonna have to park in the last row, take all the stairs, miss the rope drop and wait in a terrible, impossibly long line just to do a few runs and then it will already be time to drive back. I remembered how the snow report threatened not to open two lifts citing that "the attendants needed a well deserved rest". I keep hitting the steering wheel cursing at the truck driver and wishing him all the worst. Eventually I'm at the base of the mountain, thermometer is reading 1F and I'm thinking to myself if I'm gonna see negative numbers on the way up, but nope! I'm going up, and the numbers are going up... Inversion! Everybody knows that inversion is bad. It sucks. It calls for a lousy day of skiing, no new snow, perhaps even fog?? All wound up I'm finally in the parking lot, late, so late... A day totally gone wrong. Money down the drain. At least a barrel of gas same way. But... There is nobody there! A few cars at most, I don't see any people... Whoah... Is the mountain closed? Are all people standing in line somewhere down there already?! IDK... Two snow canons are saluting me when I step from the parking lot on the snow. I get into the lodge, yeah, there are some people there, but they're all relaxed, changing, no rushing, I breathe in, out and... reboot. It's as unbelievably good as I remember it. Every time I get to this place it's like I have to forget how I usually ski and rediscover this parallel universe where skiing does not feel rushed, and yet you manage to do uncountable number of laps before it suddenly hits you... it's 4pm already! The snow was perfect, pristinely groomed carpets in the morning, changing into chalky slopes in the afternoon. From green to black, it's all the same, smooth, no ice, no cookies, no marbles. Sun all day long, so welcome in the morning due to the low temps and definitely insufficient closer to 4pm when most of the slopes drown in shadow. Very few people, I never had to wait in line and never had to share a quad with anybody. Hell, I even rode gondola all by myself a few times. Chill, so chill. Anybody wants a piece of paradise? It's still there, and not too far. Just don't get behind a movers truck when you race to the finish line.2 points

Saw Billy Joel three times, awesome every time. But the best was in a relatively small venue at PSU when he did a series of events where he took audience questions and talked and played some music along the way. Was awesome.2 points

I have more fun at night then during the day. Got there yesterday 3:45 and skied till 7:15 every run on CS . I find the light better at night. Although I have yet to do a morning session. Maybe next week. Dipped into the woods skiers left, very interesting snow , almost like a sandy beach .2 points

Some major marbles at the bottom of Main Street, but they softened up around noon. Top and middle were always great. My last run down, there was absolutely no one on the slope from top to bottom. Switchback was my run of the day, though.1 point

I'm hedgeing my bets on a slopeside D Gen...sorta like the ski through Micky D's that they have in Switzerland. Ski up, pick up some paper towels, Toilet paper etc. Then ski off.1 point
