Tuesday was my longest session a full 4 hours, 26 runs. Great snow. I went skiing with my younger brother for the first time in a decade. He had a great time and want to do another morning at Blue as soon as possible.6 points

Surprisingly good day considering. One survival run down Freefall . Went down Barneys and stayed there the rest of the afternoon. It was comical watching the 6 pack top shack lifties come out the door and walking like penguins then slide down. I took one run down Freefall when I spotted the guns running. Should be sweet tomorrow although no bumps Stay out da trench for a little while a couple lurking rocks.3 points

I changed my mind. Haven't moved in 30 minutes lol. I'll find a room in Burlington. Thanks for your concern. In 2018 you wrote fingers crossed when i said i might get buried in the Perder at Stowe, wow you've come around3 points

Good: No falls..some say well that means you weren’t pushing it to the max...well the yellow jackets there don’t think that and sometimes you have to survive like my ugly Hobacks run but I still skied it in control the old me would have cut off larger chunks like an out of control wet noodle but I’m trying to ski well. Firstish gondola every day..8:56ish start most days. What a way to start..whisked in comfort 2700+ vertical in about 10 minutes..plenty of time for a business call, tighten boots, make sure every pocket is zipped and talk to people who know famous people or might be famous themselves. Even the occasional wallet rides the first gondola with us sometimes if he she or they missed EarlyUps and they’re always entertaining. First run down ampitheater..nobody on it..behind the surgeons ahead of the chiropractors still doctor shit..front row a mile down and a quarter mile wide you wanna make a 90m radius turn onto the Thunder lift. Nobody for ten chairs behind...every ski day..powder or cord..when it’s clear it’s fast and it’s good and when it’s low vis it’s rough but only had that a little bit. NMSki: He skis fast..always positive..always down for another beer and punctual..his fourth trip to JH..and a lot of PASRs have skied JH multiple times because it’s a place that you want to come back to. Always unfinished business. Rental Car Atomic Jeff rented a Chevy Tahoe. He’s a good Chauffeur..rental car always on fleek...no Hyundai Santa Fe..I’m sure people thought we were sickbro rippers with Utah plates or traveling missionaries who happened to be black and double black diamond skiers. More to come...a lot of good with this trip but plenty of bad and ugly to come...Stayed Tuned. and since you like pictures here’s a picture of free after skiing hotel stuff..fruit and tea..3 points

Thats a long drive home. Things are definitely getting sketchy out this way with roads and ice so be careful if you actually do come home tonight. It is legit slick out there. The 3rd worst kind of slick.2 points

Surprisingly no. The lift lines haven't been bad at all. In fact I skied so much perder and moguls and glades and more Perder that my legs are completely Toast and I dont think I can go on anymore today. But dang Daniel, it was a fantastic day of skiing at Stowe!2 points

Staying at Best Western in Waterbury. I am pretty much a regular there for Stowe trips. Paying $180/nt (split two ways) with hot tub and free breakfast 30 min from mt and 30 min from Burlington to go out at nt. (Edit - I just saw Salty made same call - nice!)2 points

Cancelled my Sat flight to Vail (where it has only snowed a few inches in last 2 weeks and there is none in forecast) and driving to Stowe instead. Unfortunately the friend I am travelling with insists on our driving up Sat instead of tonight, pointing out roads will suck tonight and it will be super crowded and super cold Saturday. Bad decision IMO - and could have forced issue as taking my SUV - but dont want to start trip with him mad. Should be lots of awesome snow still to be had skiing Sun through Wed, with it unlikely to get above freezing the whole time.2 points

Tuesday and Wednesday definitely awesome and off the charts. Tuesday a little crowded, but they opened the 6 pack at noon, and helped dissipate the lines. Apparently it was Chinese New Year, and a lot of schools were off🤷🏻♀️ WTF, we never got that off. Wednesday was super foggy at first, but it cleared by noon, snow was soft, and we even did TCS 3 times, snow and bumps were perfect, and I’m not a very good bump skier. We’ve had a good run of cold, consistent temperatures, hoping this rain clears out and we go back to single digits2 points

I think Goat is for experts like JohnnyLaw. I've been hitting up Upper Smugglers on the Spruce side and it's empty over here. Perder on the lower part of the run is deeeeep. I'll head over to the Mansfield side soon, hopefully the crowds start to spread out and I'll find some radical glades1 point

Did you ski Goat? Underneath the lookout double is rad. I’m gonna check the Stowe webcams and see if I can see you. I’m keeping my pants on.1 point

Looking at the forecast, I decided to take monday off...plan is to hit magic tomorrow. Either magic or somewhere else Sunday and then Cannon in NH Monday. Toast or whoever else, you're welcome to join me, although for a day trip, Greek Peak should be awesome this weekend1 point

Skiing's pretty easy to learn yourself. Just watch a few YouTube videos, go to Spring Mountain since it's cheap, and find the easiest possible slope in the beginner area and traverse the slope like pictured below until you don't fall anymore. This way you're not going straight down the slope, you're cutting across which is far easier to learn. When you're comfortable, do the same thing on a slightly more difficult slope. Pretty soon you'll be skiing as fast as @GrilledSteezeSandwich1 point
-
Try somewhere besides Camelback (or Blue, Jack Frost, or Big Boulder). You don't need a "big" mountain for a beginner. Camelback is a Sh!tshow on a Saturday.1 point

Why are you confused? I see no pics of stowe, mt mansfield, snow, skiing, ski trails etc etc. This is a ski forum not a state capitol forum. If you're gonna post a ski trip tr do it right. Now Insert confused reaction here ------------------‐-------------------------------->1 point
