Really great morning. Lots of PASRs in the house. Conditions were very nice. The sun was bright, the sky was blue and the stoke was high. Blue even sprinkled in some magic pixie dust on TCS and Main street. Carpet on the other trails first thing. Lift rides were fairly uneventful...only downside was a pool of frozen water under one of the guns on main street, mid trail, which I of course hit while skiing fast leaving me with one ski and another lady telling me all about how she saw it and too and just missed it..other than that an awesome day today! Conditions (for the most part) remaining really good despite the recent rain.11 points

Super super super awesome day number like 26, everything outside of a couple of spots on main and challenge was 10/10. Switch again I thought was tits Mcgee but it's so good the ditch is back in play, that's the most fun on the hill most days. Cold day made warm by lots of sun and a most excellent parking lot. Enjo the pizza was perfect and for real you are the sausage king of Chicago. Only thing missing was a certain presence with Steeze......Grilled Steeze to be precise, hope you were waking up next to someone cute, who wasn't filing out the baritone section of karoke7 points

Another important thing to note is yesterday @mute1080 and I were talking with @GrilledSteezeSandwich and he said he was going out to the bar Saturday night but would be skiing Sunday since he already used up his hangover day for the year. While waiting for the lifts to start spinning @AtomicSkier informed us that he received word that he party-rocked too hard and wasn't going to ski today. SMH.7 points

Then I went back to the base area and took the quad up...took cobrass trail over to timberline lift. I think that was all natural snow so some rocks and stuff to avoid. Great views too. Ended my day with a few runs down Tattle tale, which was relatively steep but great snow, followed by a run down the trees next to it, think it was called Lost Boyz glades6 points

Found a picture of Toast in a beer magazine I picked up Stopped at Paradox brewery after Whiteface for a flight, pretty good beers...dinner at Whetstone brewery in Brattleboro last night. No pics...food was good, beer sucked (to be fair I only had their IPA.) Probably heading to Bolton valley in a bit.5 points

Chatted with @tarponhead last night and with the temperatures dipping into the single digits, the hope that they would make some pristine, man-made again on Coming Soon danced in our tiny, beer-addled brains, so the plan was to hit the quad first thing, because Razor's was closed and who cares about Challenge when there's pristine snow to be had. After saying hellos to those inside the lower lodge, I made my way towards the quad, with the PASRs at the 6-pack encouraging me on. My old, deaf ears only heard them yelling something like "You're going to get the best snow on the mountain", but why weren't they going to the quad? Were they just playing with my mind? Oh well, their loss. Soon @tarponhead, Gah-skier George, his Jr. and bumper Rick arrived at the quad with me. The gates jittered and then popped open, so we dashed through down to the loading area. After a brief wait, the lifties emerged from their shack, went up and checked the 6pack and waved us on. As we departed, we were amazed to see empty chairs on the 6-pack? As we further ascended the mountain, still more empty chairs? Farther up the ride, we could see the masses still waiting at the 6-pack gates? Guess the gates were malfunctioning on the 6er?? Unfortunately, there was no glorious snow on Coming Soon like yesterday, however later in the day Brezhnev's clef skied quite good. Evidently someone went off the right side and into the woods and had to be pulled out by SP. That lower right ditch of Coming Soon is not for the feint of heart! They blew more snow on Barney's which made for some pleasant bumping until it was skied out and the glades, if you stayed on Barney's side was fun too. Pretty much everything else was meh. Lower Main had some nice snow from the fan gun, but watch out for the hidden ice rinks.3 points

We woke up this morning to ski Breck. Breakfast was Santiago breakfast burritos .. my brother picked them up while in Denver. Huge fan if you haven’t ever tried them. Water. Advil. Water. More Advil. and left the hotel at 7:30am for the gondola lot. It was kinda crowded but the line queue was efficient. We waited about 5-10 min. we were chatting on the ride up and the random guys with us were penn state alums and Elk / Camelback skiers who grew up in the poconos. Small world. it’s been about since 2016 since I skied breck. The expansion has been wild. —— we started at peak 7 with my family. Lots of western groomer with a bluebird sky. The temps read 2 with 0 wind but it wasn’t that bad. We did a few laps on Independence Super & Freedom together. Schif dipped into wanderlust and ore bucket. But after enough groomers, we played in the horseshoe bowl area. we took the t-bar and Imperial Express area quite a bit. Super fun. we eventually meandered down ro peak 9 with goals to hit up peak 10. But by the time we got there, the chair was stalled for a bit so we switched plans & got a snack. the lines were long at the base but as long as you stayed away from the bottom lifts, the lines were no longer than 5-10 minutes. I was really expecting much worse. On the way back, we took a motley mix of lifts and ended up skiing down 4 o’clock into town.. mellow and scenic. It was mostly a trail of homes with old men in hot tubs. overall, great day and super fun. Will add pics and write more on some of the lifts. A few seemed different and new… tomorrow is likely Loveland.3 points

Late night call to head up to Greek. Met up mbike and jeff this morning for the ride up. Got on the snow just after opening, probably 8:45. great conditions, little bit of snow overnight after 10-12” from thursday night/friday deal. Cold, and snowed lightly till probably 10:30. Nice light fluffy snow in plenty. Lift lines were a little crowded but slopes were not. Trees were nice. more later.2 points

For the past couple days, I was in Vegas for work so … I decided to add a quick Colorado trip to visit family and use my epic pass a bit. On Friday, I flew from Vegas to Denver. @Schif met me in Denver, which was super convenient since our flights landed within 20 minutes apart. Strolled to baggage claim with the 100 others waiting for the bags… My brother met us at the airport, loaded the car and headed to summit county. A quick vom break along I-70 while we adjusted to altitude and continued on. We’re staying at a hotel in summit county. The plan is to ski Breck on Saturday, Loveland on Sunday, and Keystone on Monday. more to come …2 points

What about ism is the bastion of those who are pawns of the ruling class. While we've all been busy having the same argument about say abortion or monetary theory for 40 years all the real shit that actually matters goes on unnoticed. They want you separate, arguing with your neighbor about shit no one can answer because then we are weak and the can fuck 99% of the population straight up the ass. If you take out all the crap fed down peoples throats most people actually agree on alot. Right left actually are arguing about the same thing mostly they've just come to entirely different answers as a solution. Blm/ Canada shit while it's fun and necessary to make fun of some of the stupid ass shit the biggest issue is that large portions of western society are very angry and almost everyone feels alone. Even if they are tards, whatever group you don't like, you still have to listen because what libs never get about trump is he was the symptom not the cause and he is what you got for not listening. The same is true for the right with other issues but all of it hurts all of us not just left or right.1 point

Seemed like the poconos got skunked, and I didn't have the time to venture into the majestic mountains of New York or New England, so we undertook a mission a little closer to home. After digging through the NELSAP archives and the be-all-end-all of information that is Facebook, @GSSucks and I set our sights on Snow Bowl, a defunct ski area about an hour from NYC in northern New Jersey. I left home around 5:30 with a friend and we met @GSSucks about 2 hours later where he was pulled off on the side of the rode like a creeper. Car said 5°, weather app said -6° wind chill. Fueled by rice crispy treats and coffee, I booted up and we started our ascent. Minor wrong turn took us into what might have formerly been a snowmaking pond. Luckily it was all dried up, but it made for a spicy descent with skins on and heels loose. After we found the trail again, the uphill was relatively easy and uneventful. No one else was there, so @GSSucks set the skin track and we tried to keep up. Once at the top, one could theoretically see the NYC skyline, or at least the old trail map says so, but I saw no buildings. Oh well, the snow was good and we had it all to ourselves. We transitioned from uphill to downhill mode and took our first lap. Top 1/3 was a little scrapey and wind blow, but once the pitch kicked up and we got a little farther down the hill, the snow in the loosely spaced trees was great. Probably about 5-6", with some deeper pockets from drifting. We did four laps in total, for just shy of 1500 vert, with our last run having the best snow of the four. At under 2 hours from home, it's a great option for me when coastal storms skunk the Poconos but deliver farther east.1 point
