Today, we originally planned to ski Keystone. But after learning that my brother had a 4-pack of passes, we hit up Loveland on Sunday (so we can avoid keystone weekend crowds). And it was an amazing decision. We started with a quick Santiago burrito and jumped into the car. We got 2” of fresh snow over night The lines were super short, parked in the 4th row, and the chill & casual vibe was everything and more than what I remembered. ❤️ Our first run was down Richards Run. Made some fresh lines and repeated it. We had so many tittie sparkles as the sun started to hit Loveland. We headed over to Lift 4, skied down and then Lift 9. In the morning, we signed the waiver for the snowcat so we traversed a bit and caught the snowcat. For being Loveland, it surprisingly wasn’t windy at all. I was really expecting worse. Here’s the view from Lift 9. You can see the snowcat in the distance. Since Schif was on a snowboard, he had to unstrap because it was quite the slog. quick pee break. Got hyped looking at the lines. And the snowcat came down to pick us up the snowcat was cozy… after a photo shoot af the top with my family, we headed down. I think we took Marmot - The Pluge - In The Mood. We skiied down this section, which I believe is the Pluge. It was fun and as expected the snow was variable and a bit snow crusty especially towards the top where it was windy After the cat, we skied off the different chairs from Chair 8 and 9 for a bit. Around 1 we took the Face to the tunnel (that goes under I-70) and headed to the car for some sandwiches & beer. (note: the face was miserable) After lunch, we took Chet’s Dream up and decided to duck into the catwalk trees. I accidentally stayed too high for too long. it seemed fun… but it dumped me out to a crazy flat area, which i think was Forest Meadows. The map didn’t put it to scale. It was like cross country skiing kind of flat. Although the trees were fun, the slow flat slog was not. we skied more and noodled around .. the Parmesan cheese lift, 9 lift, 4 lift and few others then called it a day around 3pm. Schif might have some photos to add tomorrow. we took @PSUFly’s recommendation and checked out Outer Range Brewing in Frisco. Thanks! Will add info about it in another post14 points

At the end of last week my work luck ran out and for the next two weeks I have 8-930 standing call MWF. The degen in me can't deal and decided we can do everything from the car at least for today. 940 I was out and lines were just starting to form. First run was razors which was so nice I ran it 7 times in a row. Perfect hard soft snow made for effortless full speed hyper carves. Post downhill I'm always at least a little fired up to channel my inner Innerhofer and float some high speed airs. The armpit between razors and back has a most excellent lip and if it was up to me I'd still be out there seeing just how far and fast you can take it. Plus I can't pretend it's not prime lift viewing and who doesn't like to slut it up for those on the couch. Alas it was not meant to be, around 1030 you could feel the crowds were about to hit critical mass and overrun the quad. The vip line held on until about 11 but by 1115 the line was back to the sixer and even with such good snow by 1145 that's peace y'all. ✌️ Slap it, poke it, go in the back, you can even tickle it. My favorite snow is the one where you can paint however you like on the canvas and thats what's out there.......once they start the sixer up and you can get to it.9 points

Good day today. First heading to the bus stop this morning my neighbor stopped and gave me a ride and close in parking with her fancy country club status. Got 3rd chair in an empty morning. Weather about 3 degrees but the sun was out and it felt good. First run down Silver Queen and tried to head down to East River but trail to access was roped off. Liftee on the Teo said there was a mechanical hold. So up Teo lift then onto Paradise. Some good non committal bumps on the sides (my favorite kind). Did a few runs of those. Then some easy trees back to the base and up Silver Queen again. Ended the morning w some more mellow trees and took the 11 am bus home. Took my ski boots off and took the pooch for a nice long walk. CB is dog paradise! Lots of places you can just let them off leash. Walked into town for a chai and my coffee place just let go of the mask mandate. Dumb as it sounds, felt good to walk in maskless and see peoples smiles. Walked the length of town just since it was such a nice sunny day.7 points

I think JC1 is a troll... Salty JC1 said lift ticket would be paid for. I’ll teach your sister how to ski for free.3 points

Exciting day on the slopes, but even more exhilarating drive home dodging potholes on blue mountain drive. Southbound from the church/cemetery to the school was like the moon3 points

Don't knock it till you've tried it. Pierogies are good, plenty of varieties. Maybe I'll bring some to Blue3 points

Then I went back to the base area and took the quad up...took cobrass trail over to timberline lift. I think that was all natural snow so some rocks and stuff to avoid. Great views too. Ended my day with a few runs down Tattle tale, which was relatively steep but great snow, followed by a run down the trees next to it, think it was called Lost Boyz glades3 points

Dillon Dam Brewery, Great food and Beer. Was there two summers ago . My son and daughter-in-law rented a pontoon boat as a late Father’s Day present. We spent 4 hours fishing and didn’t catch a thing but I didn’t care as the scenery was spectacular. The houses along one reservoir branch were built on a crazy cliff. We stopped there afterwards, our server was busy and a Brewmaster helped out , he noticed my sons Emmaus T shirt. He was from Philly area. Small world lol.2 points

Sick road trip and skiing road trips are my favorite. Mittersill is super cool and Cannon is straight up old school EC skiing. Love the pictures, you can smell the pines and it looks like you nailed the timing.2 points

Uphill capacity for the quad is 2,000 an hour and uphill capacity for the six pack is 3,000 per hour. That’s if it’s running at full speed and at full capacity so you can probably shrink those numbers by 30-40%. It’s just that there’s no where to spread out the same people are making 4-6 laps per hour, not like a large resort where people are going from lift to lift to lift.2 points

Looks like there is a Little Caesars in either Wilkes-Barre or Scranton. i would imagine they are open on Tuesdays. Enjoy!2 points

That’s not a lot for a private lesson and maybe the OP was hoping an instructor from another mountain could come to camelback for the day. I think it’s hard to become a really good skier if you learn to ski as an adult.2 points

There’s always the Texas wiener/cheeseburger scene in Scranton as a backup if the go to pizza places are closed. Family favorites are the Glider diner and Coney Island Lunch on Lackawanna Ave. But NOT Coney Island of Scranton on Cedar, they can fuck right off.2 points

Try mom and pops pierogies in wilkes barre for stuff to go, pierogies, kielbasa, stuffed cabbage. If you're there after 4PM, breaker brewing is like 2 minutes away2 points

I just read this topic this morning. Just curious, did you manage to get a lesson at Camelslack? Seriously, if you need a beginner lesson, I’d go to Bear Creek. It’s a lot smaller and much less intimidating.2 points

Thanks for the analysis. AND you probably got better snow here anyway. Always a win.2 points

Only lost $75 Frontier mile restocking fee canceling on Vail. There were about no rooms in Stowe but plenty in Burlington and glad to get BW in Watetbury which I have stayed at several times now. Breakfast even beats Hampton Inn. Net savings about $550-600 each between no airport parking, cheaper hotel, no car rental, free breakfast.2 points

Parked at Toll House 50' from lift at 9am. Had no lines sticking to Spruce Peak (easier to take breaks there as windchill early in day were sub zero) through 1pm Sun with beautiful snow cover on trails and woods. After lunch much warmer had about 7 min line for Gondola then no line for last run off Forerunner Quad back down to Toll House, winding through woods whenever possible. Friend snapped those photos showing me in trees on Spruce Peak. Back for more today through Wed.2 points

Chatted with @tarponhead last night and with the temperatures dipping into the single digits, the hope that they would make some pristine, man-made again on Coming Soon danced in our tiny, beer-addled brains, so the plan was to hit the quad first thing, because Razor's was closed and who cares about Challenge when there's pristine snow to be had. After saying hellos to those inside the lower lodge, I made my way towards the quad, with the PASRs at the 6-pack encouraging me on. My old, deaf ears only heard them yelling something like "You're going to get the best snow on the mountain", but why weren't they going to the quad? Were they just playing with my mind? Oh well, their loss. Soon @tarponhead, Gah-skier George, his Jr. and bumper Rick arrived at the quad with me. The gates jittered and then popped open, so we dashed through down to the loading area. After a brief wait, the lifties emerged from their shack, went up and checked the 6pack and waved us on. As we departed, we were amazed to see empty chairs on the 6-pack? As we further ascended the mountain, still more empty chairs? Farther up the ride, we could see the masses still waiting at the 6-pack gates? Guess the gates were malfunctioning on the 6er?? Unfortunately, there was no glorious snow on Coming Soon like yesterday, however later in the day Brezhnev's clef skied quite good. Evidently someone went off the right side and into the woods and had to be pulled out by SP. That lower right ditch of Coming Soon is not for the feint of heart! They blew more snow on Barney's which made for some pleasant bumping until it was skied out and the glades, if you stayed on Barney's side was fun too. Pretty much everything else was meh. Lower Main had some nice snow from the fan gun, but watch out for the hidden ice rinks.2 points

The walking in maskless was a great feeling back in May when masks were no longer required in PA..today my customer came in wearing a mask and I asked if I should wear mine and she said no I’m gonna take mine off.1 point

No bumps on TCS, bottom of Main Street a little bumpy instead. Some wild and crazy purplish guy kept trying to see how much air he could get at the bottom of Razors.1 point

Another important thing to note is yesterday @mute1080 and I were talking with @GrilledSteezeSandwich and he said he was going out to the bar Saturday night but would be skiing Sunday since he already used up his hangover day for the year. While waiting for the lifts to start spinning @AtomicSkier informed us that he received word that he party-rocked too hard and wasn't going to ski today. SMH.1 point
