3rd day of skiing in the C-O, Sore but wanting some mo’. 7am - We got out of bed, Lots of advil cause we’re on the mend. Grabbed bfast & packed the car, Hyped the playlist since we weren’t going very far. (An original poem, deliriously written on the plane home) ——— February 7, 2022 — keystone Since I have an epic pass, Schif used my "buddy pass". He paid like $120 instead of the $180 window price. We took the Gondola - Summit Chair - Santiago - Outback Express .. all a couple times. No lines for a Monday and scooted right on up. Once we got to Outback Express, my brother & @Schif decided to hike a bit. They can explain it in better detail. I lapped Outback Express until I caught them at the bottom. again the line were short. Went to the Santiago - Ruby - Summit Chair lifts. Skiied a bunch of laps. Favorite run of Keystone is Starfire which reminds me of Razors but a bit longer. It was just a bluebird western groomer kind of day. Our flight was at 7pm, so we knew we needed to leave the mountain by 2/2:30pm. After skiing about 14 lifts, 25k vert, we got Pizza on the Run and made a little tailgate with our leftover food. We drove up and over Loveland Pass, ogling at the lines in the snow. Some people were hiking up and skiing down. Some guys were grilling at top of the pass. Classic Colorado kind of day. Got back to Denver. Showered. Packed. And made it to the airport in time. While walking through the airport, Schif pointed out the the floors were tittie sparkling too Quick Colorado weekend ski trip -- totally worth it. Landed into Philly around 12:30am. But do you know PHL puts skis on the circular luggage carousel? And the big skis get stuck on the merry go round? 🤯🤦🏼♀️ Eventually home by 1:30am. And crashed hard.9 points

Maybe Blue can give them a good deal on the quad and then replace that POS. Or maybe when the Summit Safari 8pack goes in from the base to the top of the doubles they can sell the out doubles to them. Short transport distance should make it easy. Just fly the whole thing over when you pluck it off the mountain.5 points

Hey All, I’m back from another morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 840am. The drive up was slow with 22 traffic and all the pot holes. It was 30 degrees under a rising sun. In the house were Bethlehem ford guy, Rodney, C1er, Gary’s son Josh, Terry and many other boomers, jibhonks and noobs. First civilian six pack and I began on razors which was pretty good..firm, not icy but they blew a little in the middle section which was a bit chunky, challenge was pretty similar. The run of the day was Switchback, I lapped that three times in a row and only saw two people on it total. I then skied paradise which was pleasant and uncrowded, then another run on Switchback. I took the Main Street chair up to the famous widow maker. While widow didn’t have titty deep pow wow it did still have fresh cord. I skied widowmaker to midway which was nice to Burma which was jam packed with peeps back to the six pack. By now there was maybe a 15 chair wait on the six pack..the quad was running but not loading people. If it was quad only liftlines would be much longer. Last run was another paradise so 9 runs total by 10:20am. It was interesting skiing alone for the first time this season. Lots of goobers on the lifts drinking and acting a fool. Near the end of my session I saw Bethlehem ford guy on tuts lane and told him Switchback was good and he said they were going to ski lazy mile and then take a shot of bourbon..WTGAI i should be back Thursday AM JADIP4 points

After skiing Loveland, I came back to the hotel and literally crashed. My brother went to Bakers Brew in Silverthorne and he was a fan. He said it looked like an old Perkins but the food was great and priced well. After a groggy, super dehydrated nap, I got out of the bed and my calves were sore. The altitude and out of shape’ness was wrecking us. We finally mustered up energy and went into Frisco to Outer Range Brewery. Decor was rad. Chairs were cool. Music was lit. After waiting in line for 10-15 minute and chatting with interesting people, it was finally time to order. Then, the cook came out and taped off the menu items that they ran out of …. But he was able to mix up the chicken pieces and make it work. @Schif got the 1/2 chicken with the sweet chili sauce. I got the 1/4 chicken with the honey roasted peanut sauce. It came with jasmine rice and what looked like a salad but was just straight cilantro so that was odd. Oh and they had cucumbers with a lemon vinaigrette. They call it “house pickles”. I would still 100% order again but might ask an alternative to the “house pickles” and cilantro. All the beers looked amazing. They even had a “Steezy” beer (first beer on the left). Was it named after the @GrilledSteezeSandwich himself? Or another steezy person? We will never know … It was refreshing to have a place in summit county that wasn’t the typical burgers, chicken fingers, and nachos. Great vibe. Unique food. Good beers. 10/10.4 points

Good day today. First heading to the bus stop this morning my neighbor stopped and gave me a ride and close in parking with her fancy country club status. Got 3rd chair in an empty morning. Weather about 3 degrees but the sun was out and it felt good. First run down Silver Queen and tried to head down to East River but trail to access was roped off. Liftee on the Teo said there was a mechanical hold. So up Teo lift then onto Paradise. Some good non committal bumps on the sides (my favorite kind). Did a few runs of those. Then some easy trees back to the base and up Silver Queen again. Ended the morning w some more mellow trees and took the 11 am bus home. Took my ski boots off and took the pooch for a nice long walk. CB is dog paradise! Lots of places you can just let them off leash. Walked into town for a chai and my coffee place just let go of the mask mandate. Dumb as it sounds, felt good to walk in maskless and see peoples smiles. Walked the length of town just since it was such a nice sunny day.4 points

Touched up the edges last night, so early morning was a Razors session. Agree Switch was the run of the day though. Really like the top 3/4 of Main St, but the bottom is sketchy. Quad still wasn’t loading when I left at 11:30, but the six pack line wasn’t too bad.2 points

Get better goggles like the ones above. I’ve used exclusively Oakley A frames for years and no issues and they’re like $150 goggles. With inferior goggles I have fogging issues on damp days2 points

@mbike-ski has these too. These are the only goggles that actually work for sweaty guys who fog up the lenses when its super cold. I can't tell you how many days I've had frustration with foggy goggles before I got these.2 points

Dillon Dam Brewery, Great food and Beer. Was there two summers ago . My son and daughter-in-law rented a pontoon boat as a late Father’s Day present. We spent 4 hours fishing and didn’t catch a thing but I didn’t care as the scenery was spectacular. The houses along one reservoir branch were built on a crazy cliff. We stopped there afterwards, our server was busy and a Brewmaster helped out , he noticed my sons Emmaus T shirt. He was from Philly area. Small world lol.2 points

I love the one I call mt. Nippletop, it's like a perfect cone I cannot figure out how they made it but it's a doozy. The section your talking about has more holes than pavement.1 point

Not surprising. A quick google search by anyone at Vail Resorts would’ve given you an answer as to what works(ed) for big Boulder. I posted about the Preston and Steve thing the morning they announced it on air, it’s quite funny as they blamed resort management at first then quickly doubled back with the “staffing shortage” issue a possible problem. Is what it is. blue seems to have an idea of what’s going on as they’ve been pushing their parks HARD this year on social media.1 point
