Got on the snow around 940 to the sixer and quad running. First run was down challenge which was so bad I was surprised they dropped the rope. Brutally firm snow but the real issue is its lumpy af with huge trenches and what can only be described as lumps. I like bad snow but it was just break your leg bad not fun at all. Razors is exactly the opposite, slightly firmer than Monday but super consistent hammer down snow. They did build risers for the race kids and at least this morning there was gates and shit laying qround everywhere so keep your eyes peeled. I would say I don't know know how you couldn't see them but someone proved me wrong on that a few years back. TCS, switch and main are nearly as good though the freeze thaw snow is just starting to show up. Side was getting full sun and it's such a nice trail when you can see it. Low crowds and perfect weather make it a very nice day on the hill.8 points

Loveland: From my perspective Loveland was the best mountain of the trip. Woke up to a surprise 2 inches and spent the morning meadow skipping through titty sparkles. I think the worst part of going to a new mountain is not having your bearings completely no matter how much you look at the map ahead of time. Would have been sweet to go out to the meadows earlier but we started with two sweet fresh snow runs off of Chet's Dream to start before we explored more. We got to the top of Chair 9 relatively early. When that chair drops you off though it really whips around the bull wheel fast and caught my arm a little bit, kind of annoying. I turned around at just the right moment to see the next chair slam into Skiincy's brother's fiance like a linebacker and toss her at least 6 feet. She was definitely shaken and after a quick check from the lifty we were on our way. She did not want to come back up that chair though so my plan to ski off of that chair at least twice before the cat ride went out the window. I guess that's what happens when you ski with a group. The ridge cat was absolutely Tits McGee to the highest order. Just seeing that beast pull up and knowing you are getting inside is just awesome. Being at the drop off point, pretty much alone, is amazing too. Just you, your crew and the solitude of nature. There weren't too many possible lines from where we got dropped but we picked one and ran with it. Some spots were definitely wind swept and thin, decent amount of rocks poking out but still really killer. My take on The Face trail is that it was a narrow, double track bumpy east coast style little run out trail that was pretty technical and more annoying than difficult. I definitely stopped at one point and let a guy who had taken a bad line come back onto the main trail so it was half managing the snow and half managing the line. Seemed completely worth it to get to a kick ass ski tunnel though until you pull up and realize you need to walk through the tunnel. š The vibe at Loveland is just perfect though. Everyone there is legit and is PASR worthy. I would love to get the whole gang out to Loveland and have a kick ass tailgate. The sun and the vibes were just as good as the terrain.5 points

I had an existential crisis todayā¦ Pulled in 8:45 booted up , wallet phone in one pocket pass by itself in pants, keys in small pocket? Keys ? Fff . I was only planning an hour but my subconscious decided otherwise. Iāll call AAA in an hour š TCS was awesome I was first few down. Sun at my back and could see nice smoky shadow trailing behind . I donāt roam if I find good snow thatās not boring. The bumps on the lower section are reforming. One run on Barneys as I noticed last night that they blew some refresh . Barneys was firm and fast.Back to TCS then my phone rang $&&@! Wish I could have stayed around longer! Beautiful day!4 points

Another fun but uneventful night tonight. Met my cousin in the lot and 445, then met up with my coworker for our first 4 runs down cascade. Coworker went to teach lessons and my cousin and I went over to F lift for 5 or 6 runs. Not the greatest conditions on Cascade/Blackbear so I kept it low key in the park. No reason to risk it. F lift side was a little better plus shorter lift lines so we stayed over there for a bit longer than normal. Rolled in at 8:30 this morning with the wife. Snow was great today overall. Kodiak was usual groomed carpet to start. Noticed all the features out of Black Bear, just a few nice side to side humps across the bottom, hips, volcano, and snow features still there. Maybe getting ready for a new rebuild? Cascade still has all features. Timberline was ROTD with nice soft powdery snow, Grizzly was a bit skied off, the wife hit Extreme and Sasquatch multiple runs and loved them. Broadway was nice soft snow top to bottom, Polar Bear was usual niceness. JADIP3 points

Lines not bad at all today. Just the 6 pack running. The quad was spinning for a bit, there were 2 or 3 snowmobiles at the top, so Iām guessing they were working on it. They never loaded it. TCS was very pleasant, no people on it. Pretty much no crowds at all today.3 points

Another beautiful and relaxed sunny day at Belle. When I got there, all trees were covered with a thin layer of ice, but snow was A-OK. No ongoing snowmaking due to warmer temperatures, and I guess that was also the reason for more people today - hard to resist going out and skiing when the weather is so nice. Still, no lines, just a sudden dĆ©jĆ vu of quad periodically stopping for no reason. Chuckled at one mom sorting out heaters, gloves and helmets on the table and mumbling to herself: "it's ok, there is plenty of time, this is not a race". Oh yeah, it seems like there is never need to race anywhere at Belle, plenty of time for everything.2 points

I think we went to high-school at the same time or you were before me but you are definitely right. Peeps regularly brought guns to school in their cars for hunting season. The war on covid is like the war on drugs, you lost drugs won. Not because of drugs or covid but because of the shit floating around in people's heads after 200 years of essentially a country who's economic system and grand plan for society is all your problems are group x so fuck those freeloaders and get out of society. Turns out those people be them prisoners or mexicans don't just instantly stop existing and surprise surprise we are actually all in this together. So if your neighbors are dumb fucks it turns out it effects everyone even rich people and people you don't agree with philosophicaly. Maybe I'm crazy but if so called socialism of some things keeps the place from going completely insane that's worth it to me.2 points

Loveland is great, I had a pass there our first season here. With all the multi mountain pass issues of crowding etc I think people are realizing what a gem the independent places like Loveland are. There has long been talk of people wishing for a Loveland/ Abasin pass. Glad you had a good trip.2 points

It was day 1 on the snow and the altitude was definitely getting me a little. Only about 12 hours between touching down and getting the snow will do that I guess so it was a nice casual day of exploring and western groomers. The first groomers off of Independence Super Chair on Peak 7 were a great way to just tear up some long and fresh cord before we started exploring more. Most of the day was just nice blue cruisers as most of the blacks were ungroomed days old sun baked bumps and didn't look particularly appealing. Peak 8 was fun and we did two laps to the top of that chair, the highest lift in the country. A few runs on peak 9 were nice before wandering around trying to find the route back home. I didn't do a ton of research on the lift layout and we missed a whole peak so a second day would have been good. At the end of the day it became a guessing game of where each chair would take you. It was my first time experiencing chairs that crossed over each other so that was cool. The last one we took was a slow double that not only crossed other chairs but made a hard right at one point. From there it was a nice little cruise down to the road where Skiincy's brother picked us up. ****Not sure why the text up there is so weird so here it is in a more legible way****2 points

Solid little trip out to the Rockies. Here some update from my perspective. Saturday at Breck was fun. Lines were long ish but I just kept thinking to myself that I was on vacation so it was OK. The higher up you went the less the lines were a problem with the exception of the T bar which had a long line and sucked as a lift. Long and steep is not particularly fun to get dragged on. Breck is huge and I really enjoyed exploring it. Would like to get two days there next time. The stuff above the tree line was really cool and I would have liked to spend more time up there but it really hasn't snowed much and the stuff high up was really windswept and not so great. It was day 1 on the snow and the altitude was definitely getting me a little so it was a nice casual day of exploring and western groomers. The first groomers off of Independence Super Chair were a great way to just tear up some long and fresh cord before we started exploring more. Lots of great Blue cruisers. Most of the black trails were just sun baked bumps so they were not particularly desirable. I didn't do a ton of research on the lift layout so a second day would have been good. At the end of the day getting on chairs became a guessing game as to where it would end up. First time experiencing chairs that crossed each other was pretty cool and the last chair of the day was a slow double that made a hard right hand turn at one point. That actually worked out for a nice cruise down to a bus stop where Skiincys brother picked us up to head back to the hotel.2 points

The explorer has a keypad to unlock the doors. I've used it a few times to fish when I didn't want to bring the keys with me. I'm not sure I even remember the code anymore though1 point

Groomed up top and a couple inches of undisturbed freshies from last night on the lower half. I didnāt find any ice anywhere so it was pedal to metal even over the dogleg drop off . Later runs stayed skiers left and bumps were coming back. Didnāt try da trench .1 point

I think so, canāt recall any others. I really wish I knew what that groove was. It was on the flat runout after the trail. Saw it too late or could have glided over it, but was in a hard hockey slide to get rid of the speed and they went in long ways, threw me right in the air. Legs hit something on the way in, the group said a barrel around a snow gun. Starting to get sore now, shins and right shoulder. This too shall pass. According to Ski Tracks going into the woods was the fastest I was moving all day, lol1 point

Found some sort of groove/notch at the bottom of White Lightning and dropped the skis into it while skidding off speed on the second run. Went HARD into the trees, but after a couple of worrisome moments it turned out that all was well, and none of the lift drinks had sprung a leak. Crisis averted.1 point

It can get pretty icy there if the snow isn't good so just keep that in mind. Their natural snow trails that are open probably aren't in great shape1 point
