Great day today! Sneaky snowy superbowl sunday with an over performing storm. This rarely happens for us. Looks like the LV was pretty close to being the jackpot zone. lots of good turns today, some baller chili in the lot with more talk of the super summit safari 6 pack.7 points

Hey All, I’m back from another fun day at Blue mountain the true mountain. I initially woke up at like 4am and the ground was covered with snow and at 620am when I went outside to clear my car off, there was a solid 5” of medium density snow. The drive up was easy except for a few slick spots on the downhill from the upper entrance to the valley which claimed one person who went head on into the opposite side guardrail. The temperature was in the upper 20s under cloudy sky’s with a few lingering flakes. I managed second civilian chair with our fearless leader Atomic Jeff on the first chair...first run on challenge which was a little shallower than expected but still fresh just not much float until the lower part. Razors was much deeper and we lucked out that it was still open for run number 2. It was especially good along the right hand side. Next run was X-ing which was amazing to Main Street which was mostly skied out and a little rowdy on the lower part. Me and JFDan took the Main Street chair up to Widowmaker and thankfully Salty saved us some perder..the entire right side was titties deep if you have really saggy tits. I skied Chute which was chowder back down to the quad and ran into Falco and Charles who told me about how enjorales cousin double ejected off one of the root rollers on razors edge. Chiggity check yourself before you wreck yourself..he’s ok just sore. Coming soon had already been pretty skied off but was still fun then up the quad again and back to X-ing to milk the last of the freshies and then up the Main Street chair to Widowmaker which was mostly tracked out but a few untracked spots next to the gates down midway to lower Main then up the six pack and a couple laps on nightmare to Dream Weaver to end the session. The parking lot was fun, Charles dad Spider was in charge as he had a big pot of Chili that fed at least 15 people along with chips and guacamole. I had a few beers then went into work to shovel and salt the paths before it freezes up tonight and do some work so I can sleep in tomorrow and go skiing Tuesday AM...all in all a good day and now I’m ready a nap. Although I’m not gonna watch the Soup Bowl, I’m gonna root for the Bengals because I like the manic Monday song. JADIP5 points

Did you hear this from some guy you met on the lift last week from texas that know someone that lives down the street from vails HQ in CO? seriously though, i will have trouble giving Vail money next year for the (what i consider) BS they let ensue this year. They can apologize all they want on FB, but in the end they just need to run their resorts properly. What Vail is doing isnt good for skiing.4 points

I ran Widowmaker 3 times in a row after my first run down Switchback. It was grate!! So much Perder. Too bad about the dumb Vista lift fence. I didn't have enough momentum coming off Widowmaker to make it around the Vista lift shack due to having to slow down for the intersecting trails, so instead I found a gap in their dumb fence. Even though there was literally no one in line, and even though I skied into the queue area at a very slow speed, the lift attendant boss came out and said "yOu HaVe tO gO aRoUnD nExT tImE".4 points

Resurrection of the best kind, I think this is rando storm 3 ? Regardless it was absolutely perfect timing to avoid a luge track. Snow underneath was not great and it got crowded fast but who cares TCS, switch, NMDW where all excellent un/low tracks. Charles's dad chili, snow, super bowl all lead to a super good level of energy in the air.3 points

Every time we talk about them raising prices or not leaving money on the table we pay more. So let's not speculate. That being said the Epic pass will 100% go up at least $200 next year in an attempt to thin the herd.3 points

Their new permit is for a quadrilateral subway funicular, stations are upper lodge; main ski patrol shack, valley lodge and multiple drop zones across the ridge/tuts. Rather than create Railroad crossings on Razors, NMDW and tuts lane they've drawn inspiration from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and have secured the Chunnel Tunnel TBM,s to go subterranean thus five subway stations are planned to allow a rider to drop in anywhere across the ridge. No word yet on if a dining car will be available but it was confirmed on pow days the caboose will be used for cat skiing3 points

Correction. Blue is going to charge for parking next season and season passholders will get a discount on paying for it with their price-increased season pass.2 points

main was super good, as was midway. Just think, when the Super Summit Six is installed over the summer, we will be able to do a nice widowmaker to midway without having to ride the Debbie Downer Double Double.2 points

Super hyper good day in the warm. Good snow is king but pretty good snow with warm ass Temps after a month of Antarctica is sooo good. Just nice to be comfy taking the gloves off. Snow is good light freeze thaw, upper main again was very very good snow and even the stuff that had some crumbles they were at least blue cheese rather than full cookie. Crowded obviously but let them all show up today and have it be quieter for the luge training in the morning. The lot is always tits Mcgee but absolutely killer beer and I feel way more comfortable when I can wear flops2 points

Did a tour up Snodgrass this morning. Shedding layers early on and at 5 degrees in the sun it felt very warm. went about 1.5 miles up, realizing the snow was complete shit, we turned around. It was total boiler plate ice. Made me realize how good the mountain is doing with what they have. Overall a gorgeous morning, the sky couldn’t get any bluer. My goal today was to get some cardio in and mission accomplished.2 points

My money is on $799 early bird, justified by free parking and making it a 2-mountain pass. $999 non-discounted. Marketing will compare the cost to buying passes for both Blue and Camelback this year making it look like a deal.1 point

Heard the same thing from from a few instructors on valley school west yesterday as to why they’re not doing anything with The Warming Hut building this year. It’s gettin blown up to make room for the new chair. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Super enjoyable taste of spring skiing today. Overdressed from the get go and had to do high speed runs early just to keep cool. Early run down CS foretell of things to come, as the top sheen was easily scraped off. An early run down Barney’s was the same, but it was impossible to stay away from the free-form bumps on CS and ended up lapping them into the afternoon. A shirt beer break and back at it but not for very long as the legs just gave out after all the early CS laps took their toll.1 point

It was a Sunny D day....Lots of traffic on Bagdad Blvd going to Blue...Arrived just after nine...Saw @Benm truck but no one else..Met Benm at the sixer for two runs down Switch ...Little marbled up but fast and decent...Took a run down Paradise to check out CS...Looked OK so we rode the quad up....CS had some bee sting bumps on the red side and they rode pretty good....Didn't see a soul in the ditch...Looked kinda slick...Ben split and I ended up doing about six laps on CS...Then two Main street laps which were nice.... Temps were fantastic with lots of sun.....I just adore spring skiing....Split around 11 cause I had an MRI scheduled ...crowds were just starting to build a little then...Ended up seeing TP4 in the lot....Just a fantastic morning at Blue... Bee sting bumps.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJBr_htF5LQ1 point
