Today was the best morning so far short of the snow days. Everything was super nice, upper main was ski mag cover kind of carving snow. Throw them up at any angle and it will hold but the rotd was the Atomic widow-midway-main line. Good air into midway and then it's on, super fast more scraped with perfect grip, the acceleration from before where the chair crosses, over the inside hump and on to main was absurd. My brain loves acceleration, the kind where your monkey brain reaction is slow the fuck down and it was pumping every happy chemical known to man. Short of the pow float or airs a good early set of the edge where you just hold the line as the terrain disappears under your feet while the speed just keeps ramping up is maximum fun. Perfect weather, perfect crew, perfect snow, old school weekday crowds maybe the creme fraiche day to a very very good season.9 points

Phl was a little sluggish this morning. Usually i zip right through, but enough time to grab an overpriced coffee. sitting in DFW, flight to gunnison is a little delayed, it looks like they switched planes on me. Another coffee, and maybe a chick fil a breakfast sandwich. Everyone knows im a sucker for a breakfast sandwich.8 points

Skied Sugarloaf Monday 2/14 through Thursday 2/17. First 2 days were crazy cold, minus 11 in the morning, so no one rushed out for first chair. It did keep the snow nice. Day 3 very windy, managed to get one run down before they shut down due to wind holds. So we proceeded to The Bag for drinks. Day 4 was warm and threatening rain. We were lucky, had first run in a spotty drizzle that stopped until 345, when they start shutting the lifts down. Made for some nice hero snow. Really loved Bullwinkles, a mid mountain bar/ restaurant. Stopped for a break there every afternoon. Great ski trip, we had a lot of fun, but just way too long a ride. If I go again, it will be more than 4 ski days, and will check out Saddleback7 points

Hey All, I’m back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot and it was in the low 20s under sunny sky’s. In the house were Johnny Law, PARidge, Atomic Jeff, BenM, Bethlehem ford guy, Schifdawg and Nancy. It was nice and quiet today with the 8am start. First run on challenge was 9 out of 10 good..I skied that two more times then to Main Street which was even better. The rest of the session just skied Main Street, switchback and lower Widowmaker to midway to Main Street. The line for the six pack was never more than a couple chairs and we managed 13 runs by 9:55am. The conditions were 100% winter conditions but I imagine the snow is getting really sticky by now with the rising temperatures and fresh manmade snow. Now time to do some work. I’ll likely be back on Wednesday AM.5 points

A little too early to get excited about, but calling for 8 to 12 inches at Greek Peak friday and 10 to 15 inches in VT. I won't be there but should be nice for the following weekend when I'm in VT5 points

Stellar day today! They even opened the lifts a bit early which was awesome! First run top of Silver Queen down to East River. Snow felt really good. Then several off east river than we did 2 more from Silver Queen back to the base. Umbrella Bar for lunch then did some mellow runs from that side. Left around 1:30 and lines were getting busy (for CB). Natalie I’m the bumps this outfit did not look comfortable Umbrella bar looking forward to a stretchy yoga class in a few hours so I am ready for tomorrow.3 points

Today was superb. The lightest crowds I've seen this year in the morning for the first hour. I think @Johnny Law and I did 6+ WidowMidwayMains without a single person in our way. 13 or 14 runs in by 10am reminded us of mornings in the pre-times. Always happen that the condition get the best the day before it's going to be 60F and raining.2 points

Skied 6-730 with the fam. Boo forgot her ski pants but she HTFU and rode in her base layer. 38 degrees when we got there so it wasn't the worst. Saw @Dirtwolf's truck in the lot walking out and hoped to grab a post ride beverage with him but he ski-daddled by the time we got back. Light lines and good snow made for a fun night. They closed the six pack around 715 but it was clearing out. Wanted to keep the streak going tomorrow but the rain makes me think they might close early.2 points

I hear there's a lot of hippy liberals.... your head might explode out there. My college roommate lives in Portland and skis out there. I'll ask her how conditions have been and what she recommends. Are you hoping to get out there this year?2 points

Maine is always tough, cool place and some great terrain but far particularly when you have to drive past other good skiing so it never gets the tr's or action of the rest of the ne...super cool report !2 points

12 runs in so far this morning and have yet to wait in line. 100% open and all groomed. Now softening up but no bumps yet. Bluebird day. Good call for a holiday that would be super busy elsewhere.2 points

Got a late start. If you ask Schif, he’ll say it’s because there’s a 0.0% of me ever waking up on time … putz’ed around Philly area and did a late afternoon ice skating session at Bleu as we past BMDI, there was a string of cars coming down from the mountain it was sugar and ice. And lots of people. But the sunset was was rad. The upper lodge was looking fun. headed back to the car and am enroute to Schifs Mamas in NEPA for the quintessential culinary experience of pizza and/or Gerritys.2 points

Later start then I wanted since we had a goodbye breakfast with the wedding crew. Got to Bolton Valley at 930, slight delay from the ticket line but on the lift by 950. Couple squalls yesterday plus wind overnight refreshed everything. Conditions were awesome. Squeaky chalk had us laying over edges with ease. Bolton had a lot of trails still closed from the melt last week but what was open had full coverage. Cobrass was closed so everything lookers right we couldn’t get to and didn’t get over to the Wilderness lift. From what we could see, it wasn’t running. Lines kept get longer after each run but the crowds weren’t Blue bad. Steeper pitches started getting scrapped off and after we did everything open, took off at 1130. Favorite runs were Vista Glades and Enchanted Forrest. Grate way to finish the trip. Stop at a farm for maple syrup in Monkton on the way out. It was an honor system store but was able Venmo the money. Surprised it wasn’t cash only but grabbed some cheese with it and happy we stopped.2 points

A girl doesn’t usually get excited about 4”, but since we haven’t had snow here in over 30 days it was very nice! The usual non existent crowds here on a weekday, got in line for the Silver Queen at 8:47 and was 3rd chair. They groomed Paradise Bowl, which I was surprised. No matter, the few fresh inches were a welcome change from the usual hard pack conditions. Few runs off Paradise then headed to East River. Good conditions down there too. Forgot to post this gem from the other day More snow on the way next week!2 points

I never wear a lower body base layer so I’d be screwed if I forgot my ski pants. I did have khaki pants in my car this morning though.1 point

The lack of TR didn't make it very memorable. I'd like to get out there again at some point, but it is definitely high risk high reward type of trip. I was just looking through my pictures and it seems like I mostly took photos of Seattle, the sushi, beer, and cabin 🤷♂️1 point

Diner said it open at 6 so we went at 7 and it was closed. Snowden dropped a pot of coffee at the door step via text which was nice. Magic is fantastic. On the hill at 9:05 with thin hero snow. Half groomed and found myself looking for ungroomed. Ton a fun picking through and skiing in grass. BLT add chicken and avocado with a Fiddlehead for lunch. No lines and empty bar. West side just opened so couple more laps in the rain then headed north.1 point

Took off just before lunch and arrived at Catamount around 3. Hopped on the quad shortly after and stayed on that side. Everything open had good coverage but the only double black open was Lynx. Bunch of kids showed up after school but it was ski right on every time. Tried to grab an appetizer and a beer but they didn’t have a bar open. We didn’t pull the trigger on $14.50 for fingers and fries either so we headed to Londonderry. 2 hour winding drive and quick stop at the motel. First time a place just left our key on the bed and door open. Tried to grab food but most places close at 8 and only had 2 options for places open until 9. Drove to Jake’s and it was closed, tried the place at Seesaw and they had a private event and said no. Grocery store said open until 9 but when we got there they had a sign saying 8 and we had 10 minutes. Doubling all the recommend times for the Hot Pockets and Taquitos because this microwave looks barely a step above an easy bake oven. My favorite part of the day is the Motel rents land in sign hell. 13 signs telling me what I can and can’t do in the room, 7 in the parking lot. It’s pretty impressive and laugh every time I find a new one. There’s even is a sign that says call restaurants to see if they’re open because every place is closed. Skiing Magic tomorrow then headed to Stowe. Stowehof called and downgraded my Mountain View room. Sad. Supposed to give 20% off because of it but they better still have the wedding 10% on top. Might try to get a gift card out of it but I’ll take that to the Stowe thread.1 point

Hey All, I’m back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 830am and it was 12 degrees under sunny sky’s but it was in the mid teens up high so felt like Tallahassee. In the house were Johnny Law, BenM, AtomicJeff, Bethlehem ford guy and Toast. First run on challenge was decent and consistent..switchback was alright as well and razors had some nicely blown fresh manmade poe and the root rollers had poles set up to keep people from going ass over tea kettle. Barney’s bumps are no more so upper Main Street was super wide and lower Main Street had the worst new manmade snow with giant death cookies..paradise also had very bad new manmade with smaller cookies top to bottom. I then returned to Razors for a few more. Liftlines were pretty bad for a Tuesday but the VIP line helped. They really need a liftline person as lots of lifts going up with just one or two people but at least they were running the six pack. It was demo day as well and on the way out the guy in demos was saying weird shit like how he had camel cum to make you go faster. Also there was a boarder blasting rap music in the liftline right in front of us and I said like 15 times..I love this song I love this song, kicked a short freestyle and then Law told the guy there’s a new invention called headphones. All in all a fun session!!!!1 point

Did a tour up Snodgrass this morning. Shedding layers early on and at 5 degrees in the sun it felt very warm. went about 1.5 miles up, realizing the snow was complete shit, we turned around. It was total boiler plate ice. Made me realize how good the mountain is doing with what they have. Overall a gorgeous morning, the sky couldn’t get any bluer. My goal today was to get some cardio in and mission accomplished.1 point
