  1. Great day full of spring skiing. Got to the gondola around 9am and headed up alone. Much better snow coverage from the day before. It ended up closing in on high 30s with full Sun and blue skies. The snow was soft and buttery. Ended the day with a Lake Placid IPA which was delicious. It sounds like a snow storm coming which which will be awesome way to end the trip. Minus my little Acura trying to drive home Sunday with that much snow

  2. I just received an email from Blue mountain that says 3” is on the way. While it won’t make any ladies leave their husbands, it’s exciting.

  3. We don't get many pow days here at blue. But we do get nights like this with soft spring snow and a fucking awesome sunset. 100 out of 10 this evening

  4. Hey All, I’m back from another morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 830am and it was in the low to mid 30s under mostly sunny sky’s. In the house were Atomic Jeff, Bethlehem Ford Guy, BenM, Gary, Jimmy and C1. About a minute before 9am all of us waiting at the quad were told that the quad was closed so we hoodef it over to the six pack which opened a few minutes late. I skied challenge first and it was pretty good. Soft cord on the top half and firm cord lower. Razors and paradise were similar. My favorite run was midway which had hero snow. Skied 8 runs and then hungout in the lot for maybe 45 minutes with Atomic Jeff drinking beers and now back at work like a dork and wondering what tomorrow will bring. Maybe rain maybe snow maybe both. The weather is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.

  7. Am i the only one that thinks this is going to be heavy wet snow, at least for the majority of the time it snows? and then its gonna get really cold overnite. i just cant wrap my head around rain to snow, being rain to really light fluffy powder. Dont get me wrong, love to see it snow, but lets remember its March in the northeast.

  9. Quite a different scene this morning as winter has temporarily returned. The conditions were fantastic, but the quad breaking down put a bit of a damper on the morning. @Benm @theprogram4 and Blue regulars all there. Sun shining. 10/10 conditions and Coming Soon and Main Street were top notch 👌

  11. I was up for a mid-afternoon session with @NazarethSkier. It was decent. Some sticky snow. I'd give it a 7/10. Bumps were really nice.

  16. This is why traffic was backed up this morning on Root 22E..this was between 309 and cedar crest Blvd. I was lucky I was stuck right before 309 and drove on the shoulder and got off at 309N..took back roads and got to blue in the same amount of time.

  17. Kinda depends where you are and how far you wanna go. My '55 hasnt had the best track record, it was towed twice last year. first time about 7 miles from my house, that was $100, and then the second time i probably had to get towed about 20 miles and it was $2XX. So i got AAA for $100 a year. The tow companies that are contracted to tow on 76,276,476 have to take AAA, so basically for me it makes sense. they tow 100 miles for free.

  18. What are you expecting sundays conditions to be like? Are you thinking a snowstorm during the day Saturday will net you big powder turns on Sunday?

  22. Great day for sure, my vehicle lost a spark plug on the way to my 11am appointment . Waited 2.5 hours for a tow truck. Gremlins won today. Still glad I managed to get out there. Morning was 10/10 .

  27. i think we witnessed maybe 4 chairs load in 15 minutes? 5-10ft. stop. repeat until we bailed. they eventually sent everyone to the not yet running 6er as we were coming off the snow. quad was still stop and go when we were in the lot. its a damn shame because conditions really were excellent

  28. Rained on the drive to the mountain last night at 5, but once you crossed over to the north side it was a winter wonderland. On the snow around 530 with mBike and Boo and it was still snowing. Wet, heavy snow and main, switch, razors were chop city. Thought it was going to be a leg crusher kind of night until we found TCS. Some untracked on top and the groomed last face was grate. Lapped that until a little after 7 and then headed out.

  29. Saturdays storm could bring a foot to WF. Leaving Sunday morning for LP...hoping for Empire, lookout below, cloudspin etc. to be open next week. Or maybe I'll strike gold with the slides...of course I probably have a better chance on winning the power ball.

  30. Nice sunset last night but Mike’s right, the hill froze solid at 7:04. Couple good laps and lot beverages still made it worth it. Back at it tomorrow night.

  31. Ski day 2 @tarponhead in Da Haus! Departed the hacienda around 7:00am in 12’ temps, which would be about the low for the day, thank goodness and flurries falling. Heard the plow go past a couple of times overnight which for these parts is almost as good as hearing avy bombs going off! Uneventful drive up to the mountain and we had prime parking spots due to the lack of parking attendant. Booted and lined up with the WF retirees who were first in line for the gondy. Hmm, who do they remind us of?? We did far too many runs today to list separately, but for the most part, snow fell for the majority of the day, but unfortunately the wind was howling ip top too. Each run was a search on one side or the other for the stash of wind-blown powder. Most of the time we were lucky to find it and made for a fun-filled day! We made a few trips up to the summit to find much the same powder hunt. The last of which wasn’t much fun as the summit was in the clouds and freezing fog glazed the goggles. Unfortunately most of the runs were groomed to the hilt, so only some powder bumps were found. Towards the end of the day as the legs have out, we did manage to score some glades down near the bottom and retired to the bar for a couple of well deserved beers. At that point we parted ways as @tarponhead made his way over to VT. Back at the casa we decided on Wyatt’s Tex-Mex in the mall. They allow you to select from a menu of stuff to shove into your burrito; I pretty much chose everything I could! Delicious and highly recommended! Grate cap to a grate day! @tarponheadand son waiting for gondi to open… Some pics when the flurries let up… Obligatory Olympic scoreboard pic and timing shack… While we were having fun on the mountain the wife was galavanting around town and walking on the lake… Head to town to pick up food… Burrito grande, tacos and of course, beer!
