It's great that Blue keeps it going until the very end, hopefully the new management will continue the trend into the future. Skiing on those last weekend days, hopefully warm and sunny, with dirt spots and mashed potato snow is what makes spring skiing so much fun. People dressing up, parking lot tailgates, hucking off all the little mounds here and there, crazy sights like people trying to ski 2x4s, etc. is a total blast and nobody's worried about conditions or the amount of snow, etc. because you already know the conditions are going to be shit, but that's part of the fun.8 points

Been a strange season for us - low quantity but high on quality. JF on X-mas day. Oldest daughter working Taos as an instructor for the winter, so we went there for five days in January - came in on the heels of 25" and had a great trip. Went to Stowe for two days with a friend after about a 12" snow. Great Saturday - CRAZY crowds. Believe the Epic hype for sure. Parking lots full at 10:30am... Wife and I did Belleayre 1 day, then we got a puppy which dampened day trips. Went to Telluride with friends I haven't seen since the first weekend of the pandemic in Jackson Hole! Killer three days. Started snowing the day we arrived, probably 18-20" by the time it stopped the following day. And yesterday at true blue....8 points

Cool shot. The contrast between the upper part of the shot vs the lower is neat. Good seeing you too sir. Same sentiments here. If yesterday was it I'm more than happy with the season that was. Not writing off the weekend but the snows going fast. The weekend is going to see a reduced trail count at the very least. Let's see what the next few days bring. I will say this. It's obvious that Blue stayed open this week for it's passholders and that's pretty cool of them. Props to blue no doubt.6 points

What a fantastic night. Rode from 430-645. Took a couple lifts with Ridge, always a pleasure sir. Also had a lift ride with a cool redcoat. We bounded over our hatred for the damn race team. Let me tell you…ski patrol might hate them more than we do!! They shut the quad down around 530 so I only got one run down TCS. Couple runs thru the park, even took a decent fall on a rail. that’s always “fun”. One of those night where you keep saying in your mind “one more” and next thing you know it’s 6 runs later. Lol Saw and side hi to Mike walking off the snow and picked up a Blue Mountain Parks tee on the way out. Im pretty content with my season but I got kinda sad tonight knowing it’s more than likely over after this weekend. JADIP6 points

2,3,4. You can watch what ever sporting event Villanova might get into on TV. Cant go skiing on TV.4 points

you and i know that JF is gonna be super duper sketchy this weekend. Such a good time, and skiing through puddles, around dirt, over rocks and through the weeds should be a yearly ritual. it was said last week, they dont have to be 100% open to be open. So glad they will be open this weekend. Once they mow those jumpy things down on NM/DW theres plenty of snow to push around.3 points

Sure it was a very reasonable price for a lift ticket with no lines, nice weather, and better conditions that could be expected in light of recent PA weather. I'm sure it was cheaper for me than driving to Hunter to ski free and definitely much more satisfying than going back to JF without East Mt open. Glad I went.3 points

At party day, I was chatting with @Johnny Law So i made these for pond skim day and jammed out to Here Comes The Sixers while painting 🎶 As unofficial pasr judges of pond skimming…. 1) does anyone want numbers? should I make another set? 2) do I add glitter? … and if we don’t get to use them for pond skimming, I’m just going to hold them up to rate @GrilledSteezeSandwich’s dog jokes or @enjoralas’s cooking 🤷🏼♀️🎉3 points

Rumors are that since tubing won't be open, they're going to farm snow from there. The word too is that they're going to seed Razors with bumps!2 points

Unfortunately I do not see it there anymore. Bummer. It was fun watching him get all turnt up and make bogus claims when somebody challenged him. It got deleted just as fast as he claimed to be skiing.2 points

It looked like they mowed down some of them down already?...at least what I saw from the lift yesterday.1 point

I just booked my Colorado trip April 12th-19th. It just about always snows during that time period. Stowe is hit or miss in April, it can be a complete washout with a lot of terrain closed or rare pow days. I haven’t skied park city but I’ve heard that it melts out quick in the early spring. I think I’m hitting Copper, Loveland, Abasin and Winter Park. Matt Edge is gonna be at Breck then.1 point

You should probably look into closing dates before deciding. If it's a long weekend before you start the new job, stowe very well might not be open then. Same deal with any of the places out west due to potential forest service leases and/or animal migrations. Spring skiing is awesome, but conditions might also be complete trash. New Orleans is a super fun city, NCAA tournament aside. Happy to give recs if that's the route you go. I've been many times due to family there, but I won't pollute this thread til you say you want the info hah1 point

Indeed! The season opens with WR(s)OD and it's just befitting that it ends with the same. Splashing through puddles, meadow skipping over the grass and through the mud, it's all part of the sliding season.1 point

I just gave notice at my job … and have a new gig starting on Monday, April 25th important life question …. Considering a spontaneous trip. where should I go? (1) New Orleans and hope that Villanova makes it to the championship? I have an epic pass so that gives me some options like: (2) park city? - never fully skied it (3) Stowe - never skied it (4) Colorado and connect with my brother and some old friends.. skiing like Vail, Beaver and Crested Butte?1 point

I'm 100% OK with the current low speed Thunder lift. It's a nice break.1 point

Blue isn’t holding out hope for this weekend. They’ll be open this weekend.1 point

It’s a money saving tactic they know it’s not supposed to rain until tonight. Some years they’re weekends only at the end of the season so at least they were open on Monday and Tuesday. It was like 90% season passholders.1 point
-
maybe they stayed open because it'd have been a bad look to close when they have more snow than JF and maybe Camelback - both are still alive. if they opened a day in april for passholders, that'd be pretty cool of them.1 point

Just back from Blue for the first time in....two years? Maybe three? Youngest daughter home from break, so we decided to end the season with some true blue! Pretty slushy. Hard to see how much survives for closing weekend with two days of rain, but hopefully they will! We skied every trail once, then headed home. Fun time. Get a car wash tomorrow, and put the bike rack on....1 point

It was very pleasant this afternoon as well. Coming Soon was the ROTD for me. Oh, and day 70 for me.1 point

Nice day. All mashed potatoes. Haven't shared a lift yet. Kudos to Blue for having coverage this good with the weather they have had. Doing better than places with more favorable climates. Nice to check out Blue once a year at a time when there are no crowds. Believe I have been coming here 41 years now.1 point

Tylenol is acetaminophen which is totally different type of medicine. It's for reducing pain and lowering fever, ibuprofen and NSAID's are anti-inflammatory and the mechanism of action between the two is really different. Too much advil and your stomach is going to be in rough shape, too much Tylenol particularly with moderate amounts of booze and you die and a terrible death at that. If I remember the mechanism correctly your liver can metabolize it in 3 ways and if you make your liver work too hard it runs out of the good ways and metabolizes a toxic acid based by product.1 point

Tylenol isn't an NSAID, but yeah definitely alcohol in moderation.1 point

Shawnee just announced today is their last day. Only Blue, Cbk, JFBB still holding out hope for this weekend in PA.0 points

Yeah I can't see Challenge, Upper Main, Sidewinder, Switchback or Come Around making it through the pre-weekend rain in very good shape and Coming Soon, Paradise and Lazy are questionable. Razors seems good to go for a long time if they can move enough snow from trails they are abandoning to keep Homestretch solid.0 points
