Saw the surgeon last Friday and got the all clear. I consider myself pretty lucky that it was just a minor MCL sprain with no damage to the meniscus. The swelling and pain for the first couple days was wild. According to the doc most injuries like mine are healed in 3-6 weeks. I still have a bit of fluid around the MCL but nothing to worry about.11 points

Hey All, I leave for Colorado Tuesday morning. Flying United from Philly to Denver around 10am, renting a mid sized awd SUV at Alamo..stop off in Idaho springs for safety supplies and then to the Silverthorne comfort suites. I’ve stayed in 5 different hotels in Silverthorne/Dillon including the Best Western, La Quinta Inn, Days Inn, Hampton inn and Silver inn. Airfare is free, hotel is $680 with tax for six nights and rental car prob will be about $500-550 it’s a variable price. Logistics are boring so onto the weather. It’s supposed to be cold and snowy the first part of my trip and then still winterlike with sun and clouds..remember snow breeds snow..could be a bit of a cycle. I’m Just hoping I-70 through the continental divide is open as it looks like all day snow Tuesday in the mountains Falalalala Heres a few pictures from past mid april trips to Colorado.4 points

As it turned out, did not get much skiing in. The days were in the mid to upper 50's, the nights well above freezing. Snow was sloppy. Way more people in some areas them I'm used to (well, the last 18 years anyway) and then there was a sand storm from the Sahara which did not improve conditions. Never go somewhere to ski in March, it's too unpredictable. Below are three little videos from the trip. Not much skiing, but plenty of food for Doug.3 points

Make sure you get some of those Rocky Mountain Oysters that you tell everyone about! Wouldn't want you to miss out on your own advice!3 points

I reserved off site parking at Jet Stream. I heard that the parking garages at the airport have often been full. Coincidently economy parking is reopening with about 1/5 of the original lot next week and long term garage parking is going up from $16 per day on stays over 72 hours to $20 per day over 96 hours. For shits and giggles I called airport parking a few hours ago and they said they only had spots in level 7 of the E-F garage. Flight is at 8am and arrival in Denver is a little after 10am. I said 10am before but I believe that’s when my return flight is. Always good to check these things.1 point

Maybe the whole new lift thing is just a rumor and they are inspecting it for the end of the year, shutting it down and we will ride those little chairs again next year.1 point

Do you think they'll add a mid-lift on/off spot where the doubles are? Also definitely would be interested in buying a chair if anyone on PASR has the intel ...1 point

If we could ever get a group at Baker with snow that would be a Homer-esque style saga. How many of us have touring gear now and all that access......1 point

Interconnect should be in operation this winter, base to base with a drop off at the top of the KT22 area. They think people will park at Palisades and go over and ski Alpine Meadows. Not sure who would want to do that. The old Hot Wheels fixed grip has been replaced with a detachable that brings you to the top of the Sherwood section, although that section is closed and you have to unload at a midstation where Hot Wheels used to end.1 point

Last dance with Mary Jane Tonight I have the redeye home so my final stop was Summit Central at Snoqualmie. I stayed at the Snoqualmie Inn Hotel America or something but I think it's a converted office building but my room was enormous and super quiet if your ever in the area. Central, East, West and Alpental form the Summit at Snoqualmie. Alpental is the real draw of course but only open Friday though the weekend. Summit was essentially a blue mtn day soaking up the sun and taking it easy and just enjoying the snow. It's not a particularly interesting hill outside that it has good views and you can hear I90 drone on anywhere on the hill. They also had they worst rental skis ever, I would have much rather been on the Jfdan pro models. I think it was one of my more successful trips with some of the best pow skiing I've done in a bit and endless adventure. The PNW definitely will hold a special place in my memories and although super finicky weather a place everyone should check out. I hope you guys had fun reading, I'll shoot for more action pics next time but I didn't have that kind of group. Until the next episode.....1 point

Don't have to worry about the second one having spit in it when the first one comes out overcooked1 point

If they could figure out a way to trick customers into washing their own dishes, restaurants could really cut out a lot of overhead.1 point
