I may have a minority opinion but I don’t really care much about where we park as long as it is free and they don’t bother us. I value what we have as a group more than the location that we park.7 points

$1200 is certainly not leaving any money on the chairs, there hasn't been money left on the table in quite a while. I'm getting ready for them to pave the parking lot and sell the bigger pieces of gravel off at $5 a piece before they bring the asphalt in.2 points

People won’t be interested unless the “protest” involves getting free sneakers and timberlands2 points

Pure speculation of course but I think the PASR section of the lot may be part of the paid section. My guess but I think we're looking at the bus lot or tail end of the bottom lot closer to the road. Either way I don't think anyone bothers us there.2 points

That right there is pretty much the blue mt thing to do. Cut the price in half, and then give the people that paid $1200 a $50 gift card.1 point

I don’t know why but 103 chairs per lift sounds about right. I know for the six pack there’s about 70 and the quad is like 80-90 but those are longer than the Main Street and Burma chairs but the chairs are also spaced out more.1 point

Abasin sold their Pali chairs last year for $2500 a piece and they sold fast. The Pali chair didn’t even have a safety bar which gives blues sale a bit more value.1 point

$1200 is probably leaving a little on the table, but still a fair price for a piece of Blue Mtn history. Who is buying one?1 point

Maybe u can fly over blue and skywrite "say no to free parking". And maybe they will skywrite STFU back at you. And maybe you'll post something that doesn't contain hypotheticals and maybes. Maybe?1 point

I just said I'm done skiing. I'm still planning on coming to the parking lot every single weekend to hang out with you and JFDan.1 point

I figured the same, pay to park and then park anywhere. I don't see them sectioning off SP from general paid. Unlike at Camel with the multil levels and all the stairs, the lot doesn't lend itself well to a Premium parking, unless they call the area over by the learning hill "premium" for proximity. A little easier to sell with the new lift, but those in the know realize that lift won't serve the best terrain anyway. Blue's upper lot could be easily stratified into premium/general, but you already have to be a donkey to park up there, let alone consider it at all "premium."1 point

I'll never buy a boot without BOA again. Flows though I'm still on the fence about, though I'm currently binding shopping.1 point

I hope they make us park all the way in the back of the secondary lot near lower smith gap road. Karma for those here who supported paid parking 😂😂1 point

I definitely agree as well, just remembering the pushback we gave them a few years back when Barb tried to move us. 😂😂 We coulda had fire pits!1 point

Paid parking was always inevitable, and it was equally inevitable that season passholders won't have to pay. I just hope they don't crack down on shenanigans, and I hope that they don't cordon and stratify the lot, sending SP holders to bumfuck for our free parking.1 point

Good week in Utah! Indian Creek is an iconic rock climbing area near Canyonlands NP. There is the greatest concentration of splitter crack routes anywhere. Absolutely no cell or WiFi in the area so the main parking area and all the BLM campgrounds have message boards where people hang notes to find climbing partners, and let their friends know where they are. We camped at SuperBowl campground about 10 miles from supercrack parking lot. The skinny tower on right in the distance is south six shooter that we climbed in the fall. Crack climbing is hard! I did 2 out of my 5 day climbing trip last fall on splitters. The first day she had us on a 5.8. There was a section of 5.9 in the middle that I absolutely could not get past. I tried for about 20 min, taking breaks, hanging in the rope and finally gave up. You are trying to put your feet on the tiniest little nubbins for leverage and giving everything you have to gain a few inches. It’s exhausting. The next day we did another 5.8 and it took me about 30 min but I topped out. It was so satisfying since that’s the first route she took us to last fall and I only got about 6’ off the ground Several ways to ascend but a popular method is to “scum” your back against the wall for some of it. You notice the worn white line where my back is from people doing this Almost there my colors blend w the rock so you can barely see my white helmet at the top Some other random pics1 point
