  1. I grabbed one of the boulder chairs we had talked about last year. Stripped it down to bare metal, sealed it with a rust inhibiting primer, and then painted it with a few rattle cans. I "dumpster dove" for replacement fiberglass seats (not included with the bb chairs) at the abandoned Tamiment Resort which has a wrecked Hall lift from the same era. Some advice: Those fuckers have a TON of paint on them, at least 20 layers. Citra-strip was as effective as throwing sand at the tide, would recommend mechanical means of removing the paint, either media blasting or grinding, a flap disk on a grinder worked for me but expect to go through a few. If you detach the chair body from the hanger arm, or the restraint bar from the chair body, reassemble everything before painting. Otherwise you'll scratch the shit out of everything. If you do plan on separating the chair and the hanger, cutting the bolts is probably the way to go. There's so much paint in the threads of the bolts that it's nearly impossible to unscrew the nut, even with a ton of paint stripping.

  2. Yes - it's the section of trail from about where Valley Patrol used to be all the way over to the Tubing gate, including the liftlines for Challenge and Comet, which used to mostly be covered by a pair of older Areco guns and a Super Polecat over at the base of Frontier Alley. The two valley Arecos (~80 GPM maximum) got swapped for bigger TT10 fans (potentially 180+ GPM).

  4. That’s the supports for the terminal outlined in the box. I think the roll of cable sitting on valley school east just above the construction area near the tower. They dropped that there a few weeks ago. It was something heavy. I recall them unloading it with a crane.

  5. Took me 18 months after my tibia plateau fracture to get back to 100% in strength and stability.

  7. I’m surprised at the lack of chatter in the new lift thread. I guess I should check the webcams

  8. The more i think that relying on the new lift to work right out of the box, perfect, and blow a bunch of snow on trails that only that lift services, could be the mother of all fuck ups. But, i guess they have the tot lift or what ever it is, as a back up, but its not a great plan. If they blow on paradise, sunny delight, and then move to like challenge, those are trails that can be serviced by both the quad and six. Cause we all know, neither of those lifts will run for an entire day without needing to put some more quarters in it. i still think when it gets cold, Blue will make snow. What they make snow on really depends on how that lift is coming along, and their confidence level in it. We all know, even new stuff can break.

  9. They replace the red guns that used to be in the horseshoe. These are maybe twice as big as the guns they replace.

  10. unfortunately I don't think they are in a rush to put down snow until that lift is done.
