So my tree guy absolutely flaked out on me. Contracted him to do finish work back in August including splitting all my cut trees into firewood. He told me a week ago he couldn’t do it until spring. Everyone sold out of firewood around here so my husband and I decided to try and tackle it ourselves.
pile available
logs on left are from 2 summers ago and ready to be split. I wasn’t brave enough to try the chainsaw. But I did split some with the axe until I kind of missed and almost hit my foot.
My husband split about 1/2 of what we cut with the axe. I also bought a log splitter.
I admit, log splitter was very satisfying
We worked for 5 hours with a small break and I don’t even think we got a cord done.
There was a large rock in the wood pile that husband hit. So we can’t do any more till he sharpens the blade.
@saltyant if we ever ski Mount Crested Butte with @Barb we can meet up with this guy cause he lives in Gunnison. I don’t think I can keep up with this guy especially on 3D snow he rips it and gets lots of air and skis Kastles. This is from Wolf Creek and it’s rad at 2:30 in he took a header going from pow to groomed I don’t mess around with that compression gotta look before you leap I took a face first fall like that on a cat track no bueno
Snowmaking temps on the 13th. They've fired up earlier than that before. I wonder if they'll get the haul rope up by then?
And I don't think Camelback is quite done with the Nile Mile automation/HKD upgrade yet. Kind of six to one, half dozen the other.
Yes - it's the section of trail from about where Valley Patrol used to be all the way over to the Tubing gate, including the liftlines for Challenge and Comet, which used to mostly be covered by a pair of older Areco guns and a Super Polecat over at the base of Frontier Alley. The two valley Arecos (~80 GPM maximum) got swapped for bigger TT10 fans (potentially 180+ GPM).
Thanks AtomicJeff for the hospitality last night and good seeing all the PASRs last night especially Salty and Johnny Law. The Ribs Enjorales brought were on point and i enjoyed plenty of other good food and beer.
